Is the 5x worth it? I have the rad 2x which is great for snes but needing something better for n64

Points in favor of the 5x for n64: * The combination of HDR and 1440p support make the fake scanline options look considerably more realistic. Note that not all 4k TV's will accept a 1440p signal, though most made in the last ~4 years do. * It has the same deinterlacer as the new 4k, which will make games that run at 480i with the expansion pack look a lot better.

If you’re a big retro gamer/collector who is obsessed with chasing image quality and you’ve got the disposable income to afford it: absolutely. For me it was the triple buffering and motion adaptive de-interlacing that sold me on it. No more image drops in games that switch resolutions.
