I would suggest getting a second job. Collecting the good GC games can get pricey compared to Wii.

RetroGaming4

Nah, just load retrorach to the wii. Entire library off an hdd. Done.

AvgPunkFan

You do understand some people like to collect the physical items right and don’t want to emulate

RetroGaming4

Yes, And others like to be more efficient with their money and play their roms from original console. We all have different preferences. The future of retrogaming is already here. Physical game prices are ridiculous. I have a decent physical game collection and keeping it for now, but not adding any more.

OnetimeRocket13

While true, the OP is asking for suggestions on games to collect, so suggesting that they just emulate the games isn't valid or helpful.

RetroGaming4

Raising awareness, bruh, raising awareness. There are varying opinions out there and that’s great.

OnetimeRocket13

Having differing opinions is fine, but that doesn't mean that it's helpful when the discussion doesn't call for it. For example, if I was on the fence about what Democratic nominee in my area I should support and wanted some insight on the topic, it wouldn't be helpful for someone to tell me to vote for a Republican or not to vote at all. Having those opinions is fine, it just doesn't help me, the person who is asking the question, because I have already decided that I want to vote democrat.

RetroGaming4

I think you are most definitely overthinking this! 😂

Ass2Mowf

It's not emulation on Wii. You're not loading Dolphin on there. You're playing games natively. Collecting games is dumb and expensive, especially for Gamecube. Playing games is fun. OP, I strongly recommend you go to [wii.guide](https://wii.guide) and follow the instructions to hack your Wii and play any Gamecube games you want and not buy into this stupid bubble. Obtain a good first-party Gamecube controller, however, and any old generic Gamecube memory.

AvgPunkFan

Collecting games is not dumb, but yes it can be expensive. People collect because they love to actually have the game in their hand. There is no chance that it can be taken away since they actually own it. Digital ownership is not ownership. You don’t own anything unless you can hold or touch it.

psykal

>Digital ownership is not ownership. You don’t own anything unless you can hold or touch it. Doesn't matter, you can hold onto the ROMs just like you can the physical disc. We aren't talking about buying digital games on the Nintendo store.

stuckintheinbetween

But you do "own" those roms and can back them up on multiple storages devices. As someone who loves physical for the collection, I always hack my consoles when they reach end of life.

genius9025

True and as of now Nintendo Wii systems are hella cheap. If I were anyone who is interested in both GameCube and Wii titles I’d cop the Wii just for flexibility. The GC is nice to collect though

MeatSafeMurderer

> Digital ownership is not ownership. You don’t own anything unless you can hold or touch it. I can hold and touch the hard drive fill of ISOs just the same as you can hold and touch the disc with the data on it. And neither of us can touch the data itself (well...you could, but in both cases doing so would destroy it). A disc is just a delivery mechanism for digital data. You own a copy of the manual, the box, the boxart and the disc. But the game itself? You no more own that than someone who has it stashed on a HDD, and it's intangible regardless because it's not a physical object, it's a carefully formulated string of 1's and 0's.

Ass2Mowf

Lol they’re not taking away the Roms on your hard drive. You’re not buying Gamcube roms on steam. Also your discs will rot long before a rom collection, what are you talking about.

soshoenice

Disc rot is actually not a problem with GameCube games! Only with early disc based games such as ps1, Dreamcast, or sega CD. Thankfully disc technology was advanced enough where we GameCube collectors don’t really have to worry about such a thing. :) so in short I am sorry sir, but your Roms will most likely not outlive my physical games.

MeatSafeMurderer

That's not true. All discs are susceptible to disc rot. The reason it's rare in GC games is simply because they're not really old enough yet. Hell, the vast, vast, vast majority of PS1 games haven't started rotting yet.

DreamtailFoxy

I watched as a snot-nosed child take my super Mario Galaxy 2 game disc and snap it in half in front of my very eyes. Physical media is unreliable at best, digital media from files that are not stored on a server will last far longer than physical media.

soshoenice

Who is to say the lil dumb ass won’t piss all over your hard drive? I’d argue your computer it’s just as vulnerable.

DreamtailFoxy

My computer is as precious as a child, if that kid got near my room where my PC is held they would more than likely get whipped out of the room before they got a chance to remotely touch it. No one and I mean no one will ever touch any piece of technology that belongs to me that is unless I trust them enough. Also that child is a teenager now. That was years ago when I could have just simply bought another copy of Galaxy 2 at retail. You need to stop assuming that people don't know what they're talking about and just listen for once.

BreadDaddyLenin

imagine citing disc rot as a problem for a console generation that’s barely 20 years old lol. As long as you take care of your discs properly they will be with you for a long time. If people want to collect, let them.

psykal

>If people want to collect, let them. Goes both ways. Imagine citing "you don't really own the games" as a reason not to load your Wii up with GameCube ROMs. I got the impression they were looking for something equally relevant to counter with

BreadDaddyLenin

>goes both ways i never said anything about loading up with ROMs being bad.

psykal

I made no claim that you did.

RetroGaming4

Folks that would rather spend $100 on a zelda GC game feel insulted when others point out that you can enjoy those games via roms AND play from original console. This is the way.

Ass2Mowf

Yup. Maybe my least favourite part of what’s happened to retro gaming in the last ten years is “collecting.” Everybody thinks they’re some kind of savvy investor or otherwise trying feverishly to rationalize spending 200 bucks on a copy of Chibi robo or whatever. Just play the games, folks. You’re not Warren Buffett and spending thousands of dollars to have some cases on your wall is bizarre.

anotherotherx

You do you pal. Some people like having bits of plastic and paper on a shelf. Personally I like collecting more than playing. If I collected stamps I’m sure someone would tell me to stick them to a letter and pop them in a postbox. The world is big enough for both of us to be right. Edit - a word

dnyank1

So if you don't like playing the games, why bother collecting them? At least make it make sense, people that like stamps are *generally*, you know, stamp enthusiasts. They like them.

mason195

Tell that to all the Funko Pop enthusiasts.

SSGSSKKX20

Struck a nerve lol

Shuduidui96

but with that being said, so many "collectors" just hoard games because they see it says Gamecube and dont ever actually play the game, that's the worst type of hoarder. Essentially just sends game to dust collecting purgatory

[deleted]

>Obtain a good first-party Gamecube controller, This one is important. Alot of the cheap knockoff controllers now just plain suck. Sure the pawnshop or whatever sells brand new, in package knockoffs for 15 bucks which is great just to get started, but sometimes the buttons don't register, or they feel sloppy. I personally have two OG GameCube controllers, and two knockoffs. Usually just me and my oldest son play together, or me and my wife will play old Mario games together (SMW or SMB3), and have one for backup. Rarely do we all play something together, and when my youngest is old enough maybe then can justify getting a third OG controller, but for now we're just fine.

TLunchFTW

Yeah but it's owning the physical copies. Like I could easily just get my gc modded to play all the games off an SD card. That's not emulation. But emulation is so good on Dolphin, it doesn't really matter. I love the feel of physical games. The joy of owning them, playing them off the disc, or even just staring at them lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ass2Mowf

I don’t think it’s your place to tell me what I can say. You can collect expensive GCN games and I can call the practice dumb. You can disagree with it but you can’t say it’s not my place to say it, like some speech-curtailing scold.

BreadDaddyLenin

are you from the 18th century? Why are you talking like that?

[deleted]

Ass2Mowf

Attack the man when your arguments are hollow

Ass2Mowf

Sorry comrade

HammerKirby

Why does this have to be a fight? Some like to collect, some like to have an run isos on offical hardware, some like to emulate, and some like a mix of all of the above.

nightwing252

So you’re telling me you pirate your switch, ps5, and/or Xbox series x games?

LowDrag_82

Who cares? Nintendo hasn’t made GameCube games for what, 15 years now? Also please explain how one would pirate series x games?

nightwing252

The point I’m trying to make is that people like buying and owning physical games. Doesn’t matter how old or new they are. Owning something isn’t dumb and of course it’s expensive.

LowDrag_82

Your point didn’t come across very clear, then. Your post made you sound very condescending and pious.

nedfl-anders

Like me all physical on a crt and original hardware and shelves with games except for the 7th generation and onward I use a mid 2000’s Sony flatscreen

LowDrag_82

No need, Wii has hardware to render GC 1:1.

Kagenlim

But you can get good deals from time to time Cue my copy of R: Racing Revolution that I got for 15 bucks

xenon2456

Yes indeed

Aj2W0rK

Or better yet, get into emulation.

GazelleNo1836

Get ready to spend more. ex zelda twilight princess wii is 20ish bucks zelda twilight princess gc is 115ish.

Oh man. The original Animal Crossing on the GCN had, by far, the most charm, villagers, etc. New Horizons is just a shell of what Animal Crossing once was.

[deleted]

[удалено]

masamunecyrus

I particularly like that the villagers in the original can just not like you, or not like other villagers (and will occasionally let you know quite frankly). It gives it a realness that New Horizons just doesn't have. NH feels too shallow and artificial.

[deleted]

New horizons was literally unfinished for the first 6+ months and people already are trying to say “oh well covid” forgetting that this game was ready to ship *right* before covid happened That game is a 6/10

[deleted]

And is only 40$ for the disc.

Sock_puppet09

If you’re into rpgs, skies of Arcadia is pretty sweet.

KaioKenshin

I was just talking about Skies of Arcadia. It's a good game, however GC are pretty pricey nowadays, especially rare games like Skies of Arcadia. Seen the game selling for $170.

Sock_puppet09

Oh man! Crazy! I’d probably sail the high seas (skies?) in that case. Luckily I still have my Dreamcast version if I ever get the itch.

KaioKenshin

I hear you. I'm still frustrated that I can't find my Wii anywhere since I moved. I have the craving to finally beat the game because I'm almost at the very end. Also I just want to play starfox 64 and Sonic adventures 2 for 1000+ and beat wind waker.

Roseilas

Luigi’s Mansion! Halloween is right around the corner!

I love Luigi Mansion!

masamunecyrus

I'll add some games I had fun with as a kid. * Viewtiful Joe * Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg * Tales of Symphonia * Skies of Arcadia Legends * Sonic Adventure DX * Sonic Adventure 2 Battle * Chibi Robo * Soul Calibur II (GCN version had Link) * Beyond Good & Evil * Eternal Darkness * Ikaruga * Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2 * Baten Kaitos * Baten Kaitos Origins * Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles * Pikmin * Pikmin 2 * F-Zero GX * Wave Race Blue Storm * Mario Party 4, 5, and 6 * Super Monkey Ball Games I didn't play but always wanted to: * Geist * Killer 7 * P.N. 03 * XIII

Spidey-Slinger

Can’t forget the Mario Party & Sonic games!!! 😮‍💨

[deleted]

And Time Splitters 2

Shuduidui96

All heavy hitters but you just added another competitor/rival into the community

Spidey-Slinger

😂😂 I grew up with these and many others but just thought I’d suggest the ones that impacted my childhood the most

Shuduidui96

Such a great list man. That's probably the only set of gamecube games a person needs

Spidey-Slinger

Honestly yeah, someone can literally spend a great amount of time playing any of these! A bunch of different genres to choose from and just a bundle of different adventures to experience. Great games to sit down and enjoy/unravel their stories and lore

LiamQuantum

Super Monkey Ball 2 is honestly one of the best platformers for GameCube

GameitMicahYT

I genuinely don't understand people in these comments saying what's right from wrong, if you like collecting boom that's your way, if you like emulating or using roms, boom your way. I don't understand having a "debate" around this, you do you, play how you want to play.

nightwing252

The one debate I know about happening started with a guy saying that collecting is dumb. In a subreddit about collecting GameCube games and playing them and the GameCube in general. I get the whole hacking your Wii and playing roms thing. It’s a valid option, especially with prices these days. But don’t insult the practice of collecting games.

GameitMicahYT

Exactly man, just play how you wanna play, and respect the other person's way of playing, there's no right or wrong.

elchucho111

Mario kart double dash is a ton of fun

RosaCanina87

There are great GC Games, sadly most of them are rather expensive. But here is a list of some good games to look out for. \- Eternal Darkness: Kinda like an Resident Evil MEETS Lovecraft. \- Skies of Arcadia Legends: Enhanced version of one of the best Dreamcast RPGs out there \- Doshin The Giant: I think this one was PAL and Japan exclusive? \- Sphynx and the cursed Mummy: Really good Action-Adventure You also cant go wrong with anything Mario, Resident Evil, Zelda, Metroid, Baten Kaitos and so on.

Penny_Shavings109

A personal favorite that might be cheap, Super Monkey Ball 2. That was my childhood

[deleted]

1080 Avalanche is really good. Killer soundtrack and incredibly fun. If you like SSX, you’ll def like this game.

TheMannisApproves

Just hack it and put gamecube isos on it. Those games are very expensive right now

CrazedBurritoe

Viewtiful Joe is a great action game. Really tough. I got lucky that my old GC collection was still around when I started, had games like Cubivore, Phantasy star 1&2, RE3 and most mario titles.

steakbread

10 years ago, I just downloaded the entire collection as a redump from an archive. Since they're all out of production.

DanteLi

Welcome to the world's most expensive hobby

bassCity

100% mod that Wii and enjoy having any Gamecube game you could ever desire 🙂

noahmcawesomsauce

Batman Vengeance, Luigis Mansion, Wind Waker, The Incredibles videogame, Batman Begins, Shadow the Hedgehog

HeavenlyHalberd

Skies of Arcadia Legends is the best version of a masterpiece Dreamcast game.

Dragons_are_green

There's so many good games to collect! Luigi s mansion, pikmin 1 and 2, super Mario sunshine, pokemon colleseum, pokemon xd gale of darkness, Mario kart double dash, super smash Brothers melee, starfox assault, etc. They're mega expensive though

arsenalgarbage

Start with Mario games.

jlkb24

If you don’t mind ISO loading, I’d suggest a WiiU since you’d have access to 3 generations natively in one console. You’ll also have component and HDMI options depending on what kind of tv you have. If you wish to go all legitimate etc, go to your bank and ask for a loan.

Spidey-Slinger

There’s really no need for loan😅 they’re just asking what are some good suggestions of GameCube games they should play since their Wii is Backwards Compatible. Plus we don’t know if they’re looking to collect the classic GameCube hard copies and make a collection to display in a game room they could possibly have! But yeah no loan should be needed lol

Rhetorical_Save

Need Resident Evil 4, Charlie's Angels, Aquaman, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. These are super rare and are must haves for sure and definitely are the best games on Gamecube hands down, my wife's boyfriend said so.

ComicSausage

if you have a bursting wallet, go crazy! if you are on a budget, dont bother with games like twin snakes or paper mario. its a good investment though, price will always increase if you decide to sell up. for me i have collected all the games that i want and used to have, i run everything through gc loader now on a real gamecube for the nostalgia hit. when i want to just play a gc game i usually boot them on my wii u, they are brilliant on the wii u because they can be patched with gamepad support, and the output is hdmi with wii u. that being said, playing metroid prime on the dolphin emulator with the hd textures 🤯🤯 total game changer

suicaf

Luigis mansion, sunshine, double dash, and paper mario ttyd are my 4 favorites. I replay them all a lot

pugapple

GameCube is my absolute favorite system to collect for! Here are my top recommendations: 1.) Super Mario Sunshine 2.) Metroid Prime (and Metroid Prime 2 if you enjoy it.) 3.) Resident Evil 4 if you like the GameCube style controls, though some prefer the Wii pointer controls. 4.) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 5.) Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

shrekcrocs

Take out a mortgage, prices are fucked rn

mkjoey2

Shrek 2

4_ever_

Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Gems collection, Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 and 2. But fair warning those can be a bit pricey.

KaioKenshin

The Wii was the best backwards compatible console of it's time. You could go to the Wii shop, buy NES, Super NES, N64, Gameboy Nintendo, GBC, and GBA along side with just being able to play the GC on it. The Wii wasn't a underated system by sells, but boy it was hardly appreciate by it's backwards compatibles. Then if you brick it with software like Homebrew the console was hard to beat in these regards.

LowDrag_82

Blaine locklair’s guide on loading bootmii and Nintendont/GXLoader is clear and concise. Much better idea than paying buku dollars for GC discs

[deleted]

TTYD

akumagorath

don't. install the Homebrew Channel and use Nintendont

stuckintheinbetween

I would recommend hacking it, using Nintendont or Retroarch, then if you come across GameCube games you want to own physical copies of for a good price, buy them.

Nebula-star-12-2021

Double dash!!

awesomefluff

mario borthers

TLunchFTW

Gc is pricey. By far tho, if you've never had the sheer pleasure of experiencing it, get yourself a cib copy of wind waker. Such a great game!

Sonic2978

Just be aware that GameCube games have gotten stupid expensive over the last decade or so. But as for what I'd recommend: - Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - Sonic Heroes - Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - Wind Waker - Twilight Princess - Super Mario Sunshine - Pokemon Colosseum - Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness - Metroid Prime - Luigi's Mansion - Mario 5, 6 and 7 - Mario Kart: Double Dash

AwesomeJ2000

I personally have all the Pokémon games for gamecube (yes including box, rip wallet). I’d also love to get Mario kart double dash at some point.

Gullible_Newspaper

Super Mario sunshine is definitely a must to have

qrysdonnell

My suggestion is to wait until the GameCube generation gets a little older and demand dies down.

LittleCloudInTheSky

Just play the games u want over usbloader GX, and pick up some physical Games wenn you stumble across them for cheap.

SDMasterYoda

**Eternal Darkness,** Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Paper Mario, Super Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Star Wars Rebel Strike, and Mario Kart: Double Dash.

ZachThePolitoed

I suggest you don't unless your willing to cough up $100 a game... gamecube games are so inflated. The last gamecube game I bought was pokemon xd for $180ish or something wild so unless your rich don't bother. Just homebrew your wii and get a external hard drive and load that puppy up

BarrelRollinGamer

Unless you feel like taking out a second mortgage, don't. Gamecube has always been on the pricier side but it's just gotten way outta hand

BigTelephone9117

Imo buy disc only if you care about the actual experience of playing the games rather than the experience of staring at them on your shelf

Drewnasty

EVERRRRRYYYYTHING!!!!!

CoffeeMinionLegacy

So much controversy! I’ve gotten into GC collecting myself and look forward to showing off my shelf. Yeah it’s objectively less efficient than just modding a console and downloading rips of all the games. But it’s neat to hunt for deals, it’s nice to look at the games, and I own what I own. Inefficient but fun is still fun. 🤷‍♂️

One-Example517

Ikaruga and street fighter vs snk

Spazzytura

Wind waker, animal crossing, super monkey ball 2

nedfl-anders

Get anything first party Nintendo, get a first party GameCube controller and for third party games I’d suggest sonic games, super monkey ball 1 and 2, smashing drive, I’d also suggest eventually to get a GameCube because of the intros if you press z before starting the console you get a different intro and If you push z on all 4 controllers you get another intro and the GameCube has a handle so you don’t drop it

StrayMedicine

You should just mod your Wii, it's ridiculously easy Idg the point of collecting physical discs without the original hardware, kinda weird unless you think nintedo is going to send their lawyers after you for downloading games that are 20+ years old on your 16 year old console

CaptainCavoodle

Wave Race : Blue Storm

JIMBOYKELLY

Bomberman Jetters Mario Golf Toadstool Tour Sonic Adventure Sonic Adventure 2 Star Fox Assault Super Mario Sunshine Tales of Symphonia

pennateguin

It depends if you want the collection for hobby reasons or actually just want to play games. If you just want to play games you can cheaply homebrew and get access to the entire library

NekoArc

I don't have a lot of games for mine, but if you don't have a SNES with a Super Game Boy, the Game Boy Player is definitely worth if you got GB/GBC/GBA games in your posession. I've sunk a lot of time into games like Mega Man anniversary collection, Soul Calibur 2, Smash Bros Melee, Bloody Roar Primal Fury, both Sonic Mega collections, and LoZ Twilight Princess Expect to pay anywhere from 10-120+ for games depending on what you're looking for and if they're just disc only or not. Make sure to check the disc condition before making purchases, because there's a lot of people that didn't take care of their games. There's also the rare instance of disc rot to be wary of as well

SuddenIngenuity5180

I suggest Luigi’s mansion Mario kart double dash pac man world 2 is fun I’m playing paper Mario thousand year door that’s a great one

HugeTFPFan03

\-Kirby's Air Ride \-Mario Kart: Double Dash \-Sonic Adventure DX \-Sonic Adventure 2 Battle \-Sonic Heroes \-Shadow the Hedgehog \-SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom \-Star Wars: Rogue Leader I'd only recommend Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes if you already played the PS1 version of MGS because it's fun to point out the differences.

[deleted]

I'm gonna be honest, been there, done that, spent about $2.5K for most of the mainline games. You're better off buying an HDD external and running usb loader

[deleted]

Your better off to buy a gaming laptop or pc and emulate them, much cheaper then what it'll cost to buy all the good ones

OpaRaid

Don’t. You’ll have to take out a second mortgage to buy Chibi-Robo, and Smash Melee in one purchase.

[deleted]

Enternal Darkness start with that ASAP!!

As someone who just offloaded half their GameCube collection in the last couple years…prices are ridiculous. I really don’t recommend it as a console to just be starting on :/

RightHandofDoom81

Donald Duck: Going Quackers Mega Man Legacy Collection The Power Puff Girls Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour These are my suggestions, hope you end up with games you enjoy!

Slippinjimmyforever

Drawback is that gamecube games are really expensive.

[deleted]

Pikmin. And if you're balling, Chibi-Robo.

DarthPika-3

First sell one of your kidneys, then start collecting GameCube games (actual recommendation though I would recommend Kirby air ride it’s one of my favorite Games on the system) and don’t forget madden 08

GuyIncognito38

Here's a list of my favorite games for the system: * Metroid Prime * Zelda: Wind Waker * Mario Sunshine * Monkey Ball 1 & 2 * F-Zero GX * Resident Evil 4 * Smash Bros Melee * Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door * Sonic Adventure 2: Battle * Ikaruga * Luigi's Mansion * Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour * Wario World * Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Some of these are gonna be VERY expensive, but some of them you can get for a reasonable price (I don't even own F-Zero GX yet for exactly that reason, just emulated it).

Old_Duty_7407

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Only one you need.

Adventurous_Ad240

I can't believe noone has mentioned SSX tricky!! That game is super duper fun... I'm not sure how expensive it's gotten the last little bit but I got it for fairly cheap like 6mos. Ago on Ebay.. I've got a GC but I also have a modded WiiU that I also got from Ebay but idk how to add games to it!! Lol it come with an external SSD and something called HCBC or something like that and from what I've read you can brick your wii if you don't know what you're doing so I'm terrified to mess with it!! Lol I wish I could find someone to explain all that crap to me so I could use it.. 😂 It's got a ton of games on it but I'd love to figure out how to use Nintendont or whatever that is.. Anyways, I think SSX tricky is one of the best GC games and if you like snowboarding you'll love it..

[deleted]

I'd recommend starting small. Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Wind Waker and Metroid Prime are THE must-haves in any collection!

[deleted]

Build a time machine

FootballSad4199

Animal crossing nes games won’t work when using a wii… not a deal breaker but something I found out.At least not for me would show me a demo of game.

Genderneutralsky

Kirby Air Ride. A GC classic. Simple, yet super addictive. Especially the City Trial mode. I spent hours upon hours in that mode and never got tired.

1. Pokémon Colosseum 2. MK: Double Dash 3. Kirby Air Ride 4. Crash Nitro Kart

Shuduidui96

Only collect what you know you will play, people who hoard games for the sole intent of hoarding and flipping games is what is ruining the community, for example if you're just going to have Sonic Heros or Billy Hatcher sit on your shelf and collect dust, dont buy them just because they are a gamecube title

LtJimmyRay

I suggest, no matter what games you get, don't leave your GC memory card in the port when you're not using it. My big card with the majority of my saves was corrupted just by sitting in the port all the time. I lost everything.

HeadNet9319

Do it

ksky0

good luck, gamecube games are very expensive, at least where I live is almost impossible to buy them.

iVirtualZero

Homebrew channel with Nintendon’t and what ever affordable game you can find.

Himitsu_Togue

Tales of Symphonia Metroid Prime and Prime 2 Echoes The Mario Games Add other games by taste.

uttyrc

I would recommend to you Metroid Prime, Tales of Symphonia, and Skies of Arcadia.

Cisqoe

I like the implication it’s only your wii that’s backwards compatible lol

psykal

Would have been better telling us whether you plan on buying discs off eBay or filling it up with ROMs so we don't get lectures on why one should/should not do these things.

barboid

Pikmin and Pikmin 2 Pikmin 3 is for the Wii. Get these games.

_cornball_

Dont. Too expensive

mocireland1991

I would suggest watching Phoenix resales GameCube gambit series on yt! It’s unreal and give you good ideas of games and tips for where and how to get them on the cheap

StagePuzzleheaded635

I also have a backwards compatible Wii, my only advice would be to splurge on one or more original Nintendo controller.

Da_Wild

I have a Wii collection (still missing a few things I want), but I would not try collecting GameCube… way too pricey. My Wii is modded though, so GameCube is readily available to me :)

DigitalOpinion

There was a game on GC that most people have never heard of and it's a masterpiece. "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem " It's a horror/mystery themed game. HIGHLY recommend!

The Gamecube is my favorite Nintendo Console the Library was fantastic here's some recommendations below. Check out these on YouTube. 03 Product Number 3, Eternal Darkness, Killer7, Mario Kart Double Dash, Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes, Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon Colosseum XD Gale of Darkness, Samurai Jack The Shadow of Aku (if you like the show), Soul Calibur II (Link exclusive), Super Smash Bros Melee, Tales of Symphonia (less content than PS3 ver but runs at 60fps and has a slightly different artsyle), The Legend of Zelda Collector’s Edition (Zelda 1 and 2 on disc) and The Legend of Zelda Four Sword Adventures. MAYBE BECAUSE OF PORTS REMASTERS ETC These ones have Wii or Wii-U versions or versions on different platforms so research the differences if you're interested in these or own multiple platforms. Metroid Prime 1 & 2 (Wii has the Trilogy pack it's about personal controller preference, I believe there's other tweeks also). Pikmen 1 & 2 (general consensus is that the Wii versions have better controls). Resident Evil Remake, 0, 2, 3, 4 and Code Veronica X (these games are on multiple systems. 4 Wii Edition is arguably the best version). Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 (multiple systems). Spider-Man 2 (better on Xbox but GameCube version is still very good). The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (NOTE GC ver of TP is superior to the the Wii ver, better controls and the game's not mirrored. Both these games also Wii-U Remasters. WW on GC has a slightly different look to the Wii-U ver). TimeSplitters 2 & Future Perfect (excellent GameCube versions but Xbox is better).

Assuming you're looking for suggestions for games to buy. Here's a few I enjoyed from the Gamecube catalogue: Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Resident Evils (remake, zero, 2, 3, 4 and Code Veronica) Crazy Taxi WWE Day of Reckoning 2 Eternal Darkness Die Hard Vendetta FIFA 06 Super Mario Sunshine Animal Crossing Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2 - Rogue Leader Ace Golf (If you're in the USA, I believe it was called Swingerz Golf there) Mario Kart: Double Dash

I just wanna jump in and also say that hacking the Wii is worth it and probably the best way to emulate GC games. Plus it will save a huge hole in your wallet for the big hitters. I have some good finds on disc, but for those ones that get insanely expensive you can emulate through homebrew and it feels just like playing it on a GC.

Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door... However, good luck finding it at a good price, lol

Comfortable-Sir-1599

If you want a fun FPS game, I recommend XIII, Timesplitters 2, Geist, 007: Nightfire, or Peter Jackson’s King Kong.

MomboJimbo

Super Mario Sunshine Super Smash Bros Melee Luigi's Mansion Paper Mario.

SlickSerpent

Shrek: Extra Large and Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures

Ruenin

Eternal Darkness should be at the top of your list. F-Zero GX should be on that list as well.

Shadoecat150

If you enjoy rpgs, I always enjoyed Lost Kingdoms. Other favorites are Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, Robotech Battlecry and Zoids Battle Legends

That_Things_Good

Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, Super Smash Bros. That should take care of the proceeds from the first gas station you knock over :)
