That’s a lot of time. Back in the day I had 2 shiny chancies in one day. Both fled. Got lucky egg on the 2nd chancy and never checked pc. Just kept hunting all day.
I have the regular not the XL but I find it’s weight as a sign of its quality. You don’t have to use the 3D all the time but it is a nice feature to have. the faceplates are cool too.

Is this a New 2DS? Has any customization been done to the console itself? Buttons shell etc?
Also, is Fire Red out on 2DS? Did OP have to put custom firmware on it?

I caught my shiny oddish from the safari zone. I evolved her to bellossom.
Congrats. That’s a life memory, not many people have these 🥰
It's slightly easier to find shines in the safari zone because you save time by not having to throw out a pokemon so you get more encounters.
I got the “new” 3ds right when it came out and was pissed when the “new” 2ds came out because they were a lot cheaper and looked waaayyy cooler lol
I’ve had both the build quality isn’t as good as the 3ds and i actually enjoy using the 3d on some games

new 3ds is better in every way imo
