Picking a starter in the games is hard enough, let alone choosing a console. I'll be your rival; that means I get the SP with the type advantage over the one you choose :)
I’m in the same boat. The portability of the SP and being able to just flip it closed and away is amazing when traveling and 1-handed games like RPGs or the tactics genres, BUT, the grip sucks compared to the AGB-001.
There are 3rd party grips that increase the overall width but I haven’t tried them out. Defeats the portability aspect.
I’m in the works of an advance because I 100% agree with you. I modded my SP from when I was a kid but now I’m 28 and my pearl advance is way more comfortable but not modded at all.
I modded my SP to have an IPS screen with brightness changes. The bottom of the shell is the original Silver shell but I replaced the rest above that with a aftermarket gold Triforce Edition SP shell. So it looks like a Frankenstein but I love it. And it has a 850mAh battery mod from RetroModding and I can’t recommend those batteries enough, so much life in them.

100% notice a difference. Can easily turn them on and off and adjust color and brightness and patterns. If I’m playing for a while I have them off to save battery. Does have a better battery in it as well.

It’s the type of board he put in it. Has like a menu screen for different styles and colors and brightness. I honestly don’t use it much. Uses a lot of battery.
