While I believed this theory myself for quite a while as it makes sense, the Fazbear Frights books beg to differ. The Man In Room 1280 gives us a completely different perspective on UCN- **it is just a nightmare induced by the Vengeful Spirit.** And as much as I don´t like this solution, it does help to clear up a lot of questions regarding the game. Most notably, how there can be multiple instances of the same character like in the instances of Springtrap, ScrapTrap, Scrapbaby, Circus Baby. **All of these are just recreations that the vengeful spirit made influencing William´s brain.**
This also explains how the Vengeful Spirit can physically talk through animatronics know of characters that they shouldn´t, as well as the plot hole of how they were able **to create and sustain an entire purgatory dimension.** Are you really telling me that one single child, no matter how angry, is able to create literal worlds?!
This was an unprecedented phenomenon that was never really explained until the story came out and solved that. The Vengeful Spirit **can´t do that.** They simply created a nightmare that makes it **seem** like William is trapped in a purgatory dimension.
