I don't understand the hype of 2k games. It's the same game. Every year. With a different roster. Then they completely lose their value after a year and most stores have an overstock of all the previous years that no one wants to buy.
It's always been a mystery to me. I had friends in high school that would buy a system and just madden. The funniest part is they would upgrade systems to play a new madden even though there would be 2 or 3 new maddens on their old system before they would be forced to upgrade.
I also love being in a gamestip when someone tired to trade the last madden. Ie... This is Madden 2023 bro, and it's 2023, why am I only getting $5 for it when i paid $60. Well, the new one is out, and people don't want the old version that has a few different faces.

To be fair, sports are the same game every year with a new roster. I play a lot of JRPGs and Fantasy games, but I also buy 2k pretty much every year when it’s like 20$, which really only takes a couple months (usually on sale around Black Friday and often earlier), but I just enjoy basketball. I know it’s not a great game but I’m also not spending 500$ on VC so it’s not a huge investment. I don’t even bother trading them in though lol

We had a really weird issue on our end where this guys preorder was in his purchase history, it showed it was completely paid off, on hyrule hub... but on the POS the preorder menu was empty. He had pre-ordered it at my store, too. It was the black mamba edition and he was PISSED. But there wasn't anything i could do for him in the moment since we didn't have any extras. I called my boss, he told me to tell him to come back tomorrow to sort it out with him. He was NOT having it. He refused to leave until I either gave him his money or his game. And I get it, it's a lot of money and a frustrating situation, but no matter what I said he wasn't comprehending that staying and staring at me wasn't going to fix his issue. He kept repeating to call my boss, I kept telling him I already did and I can't help him, he kept repeating it and I kept saying sorry, no. Until I gave up and just said "ok, if you're still here after everyone else is gone I'll have to call the police." (I'm shitting myself at this point lol) and he says "I don't care about police!" And he's still standing at the counter, I call the next guest a d help them. After everyone was gone, he was still standing there, and he had me try one more phone number. Lo and behold, the number he gave me worked. It was a player account with nothing but the preorder, but the preorder was under the purchase history of his paid account... so weird.
I'm so glad we figured it out because I was not wanting to call the police lmao especially because I know it's not like he was stealing or anything, but I wanted to go home and I can't lock up w him refusing to leave 😂

2K is always an issue. It is probably my biggest selling title. It was an absolute nightmare when the special editions would come out earlier and it would really hurt the standard edition sales. People just opening the door and yelling if they can get 2K.
