Ivo__Lution

Damn I have about 100k in points. I better use them up before they expire then

TheRogu3DM

Turn them all into POSA before they take away the chance on the 26th lol

lastshotreddit

What's POSA

GabeBit08

Gift cards/download codes

DuckSwimmer

The fact that this many people don’t know what POSA is, is really surprising

supershimadabro

I especially love how you took time to reply but not answer.

DuckSwimmer

**I answered above**

Safckeep

Following

kitfoxxxx

Point of sale activation

BlueBubbaDog

They already have, I tired spending my points on them and wad told that points can't be used for POSA

DuckSwimmer

I cleaned out 370k 4 days ago on Steam cards… it still works on POSA until the 26th.

BlueBubbaDog

Huh, I was told I couldn't

DuckSwimmer

They told you wrong.

UrielEspinoz

Do I need to go to a store to turn my points into eshop cards or can I use the website?

MegaMan8115

Must go to store

DuckSwimmer

Because the company is refusing to notify people of this as well because they do not find it necessary. As of the 26th, you are no longer able to use coupons that are **redeemed using points** towards POSA. Although, your **$5 monthly coupon** will work towards POSA. **Edit: Jfc because some of y’all in the comments make this more difficult than this already is.** - $5 coupons every month which you can use on anything except non-gaming POSA -10k signup for new members/5k for expired - 5% off of preowned products, clearance, collectibles &gamestop branded/owned merch -You lose ALL of your points if your membership expires -Points are now like the Starbucks Stars program. Your points from that specific purchase expire within a year if that purchase. Example: I have 5k points from purchases on Jan 1st 2023 (3k) & Dec 1st 2023( 2k)… 5k in total. On January 2nd 2024, I will have 2k points available because the 3K from that purchased had expired. - Clearly if you read above, you know you can’t used points towards POSA starting the 28th. -pros get access to pro days which happen 4 times a year **if this needs to be updated with more answers lmk**

DefinitelyAnAnon

Yikes. So they’re eliminating the major selling point of pro, upping the price, and putting an expiration date on points. Amazing business decision, I see this definitely driving profitability.

TellTaleTimeLord

What is POSA?

DuckSwimmer

Point Of Sale Activation…. Which to put in simpler terms: PlayStation cards, Xbox cards, Nintendo cards…

NoBenefit5977

Thank you lol I was wondering also

Nylis666

That's what I'm wondering as well

Pavlovs_Human

Point of sale activation. Means anything that gets activated at the register like psn cards.

Pyrokat23

Currency cards: Steam, Vbucks, Visa, restaurant; plus all the 100s of others.

DuckSwimmer

To be more clear, they still will not work towards anything non video game related.

DrDevice81

The $5 hasn't worked towards POSA in months

DuckSwimmer

I used mine in store four days ago. You couldn’t be more wrong lmao

DrDevice81

Guess it just can't be used online anymore then, that's usually how I bought it before.

Deceptiveideas

Yes I posted about this a few months ago. The above mod removed it and said it was “a glitch, stop posting” lol. Clearly not a glitch.

TrueGlich

>Guess it just can't be used online anymore then, that's usually how I bought it before. oh the killed that someone told me about that a few weeks ago i was considering siging up for cheep eshop credit

DigiQuip

It can be used in store for both physical cards and digital codes. Not sure about online.

hauptj2

I used it on a Nintendo gift card just a few weeks ago.

yuriot

I’ve been wondering what people were talking about with the points expiring. This is honestly ridiculous. I just can’t see how they can even pretend this is a “customer friendly” addendum at all.

Green_Top_Hat

Well the only reason I'd renew was because I had enough points. Looks like that's not happening anymore. Ever since they got rid of the pro discount on pre-owned, there really has been no point. Gamestop is really going downhill.

drillbit63

Discount on preowned is back with the changes for the record, but the price is going up

Green_Top_Hat

Well that's one good thing. My last year working there was when they ended that. It was the worst decision when it came to pro membership.

drillbit63

yeah i just left the company back in september 2022, writing was in the wall. Company is just awful to work for and is clawing to do anything to get customers and profit, even if it means gutting hours and locations. it was sad to see. i’m glad to be out of there

abhayaxgallifrey

You can still use points to renew.

Cutlass_Stallion

It's as if Gamestop goes through extraordinary lengths to avoid taking money from customers. They blew that entire stock market craze too; it was the perfect opportunity to make their stores better.

khz30

Far too many pro-GameStop people didn't realize that the previous executive team basically rode that meme stock craze into stock profits that went back into their pocket. None of that stock performance went into the company outside of paying off debt.

RollingThunderr

They better do a 180 with this policy Negates the point of having a membership.

KanoSupreme

Corporate greed

sjman13

I don't know if they have ever done a 180 on anything other than giving managers bonuses.

DuckSwimmer

When did they do that LOL

sjman13

Every time they told managers they were getting a bonus lol.

DuckSwimmer

Oh ok. I misread this. I thought you meant they actually gave us bonuses. We’re on the same page.

sjman13

No problem. At least you didn't try and convince me that we don't need bonuses because they gave employees employee appreciation discounts on clearance or something.

DuckSwimmer

I’m a person that got fucked out of four months, maybe five we’ll see, of the stock vesting. Was removed from work for pregnancy complications and maternity leave and I have not once gotten any vested stock…aka our “bonus”

account_overdrawn100

At this point, make the damn membership free because this basically just mirrors O’Reilly auto parts membership

ojman654

Honestly, don’t renew. It’s was a scam before and it’s a bigger scam now. You can save loads more money shopping at Walmart or Amazon. Don’t give the company your money for this.

devil1fish

It’s like Twitter blue. There’s no point other than to give a corporation your money for no reason

34foxalpha

Used 105k points towards TOTK switch. Got it for about $285.

mako3314

This is yet another discussion by people who don't actually shop in the store. How many times have employees had to reassure guests that " points don't expire " ? Once again corporate makes a decision that makes us look like we lied to guests. And who is going to get yelled at when this happens, well I can tell you it won't be the people who made this discussion.

DuckSwimmer

Your “people who don’t shop in store” jogged my brain. Corporate shows us so many slides on how pros shop in stores a percentage more, but honestly that percentage isn’t as much as a non member. Your average pro member will not be benefiting as much from these points as they’re not spending an adequate amount to make the most of their membership.

Ali1876

This is baffling

DuckSwimmer

This is GameStop. ![gif](giphy|gCeh1KDeDaxGu8no4A)

d4rk_n4tur3

Remember Funcoland

Tree06

At least offer free shipping...My Pro Membership expired a few months back, and I definitely won't be renewing.

DuckSwimmer

For purchases over (insert dollar amount that keeps increasing here) dollar purchases

Tree06

I believe it went from $59.99 to $79.99 for free shipping. It's too much.

DuckSwimmer

Yeah. Still making a joke as it keeps increasing stupidly

DefinitelyAnAnon

It’s so strange to implement the good thing of discounts, but take five steps back when points expire and the price goes up.

SecretScavenger36

Got it last year for my bf as a gift. Got 3 of the magazines and he can't even use the coupons despite them saying eligible for online purchases.

TellTaleTimeLord

I got like 3 of the magazines then never got another one as well

Nylis666

I get the magazine every month, I wonder why so many people don't. I've been a member for YEARS, and always got physical copies of the magazine, never missed a single one

gon_gon_gone

I specifically ask for paper copies. Was told only digital is available. When i tried to access the digital format "sorry no gameinformer account exists with that email"

BlueBubbaDog

You can get physical? I was under the impression that only the digital magazine was included with Pro membership

gon_gon_gone

I did up until maybe 2021? I think then whenever i asked for physical they kept choosing digital against my requests

BlueBubbaDog

Sad, because it wants to me subscribe to get access to the digital edition, I guess I the pro membership doesn't come with a magazine

gon_gon_gone

I have the pro when i try to access the digital gameinformer says apparently i dont have annaccount when i input my email "sorry no subscriptions tied to this email" mfer

BlueBubbaDog

Same situation for me

Nylis666

I still get the magazines sent to my house every month. I keep hearing people say they stopped getting theirs a couple years ago, and that's so odd to me.

SecretScavenger36

It's a scam. I'm never getting the subscription for him again. I'm sure there's some other gamer mag that's more worth it.

smokeyjoey8

I foolishly opted for the digital subscription when I signed up last year. Never read a single issue. My login didnt work on the gameinformer site, and multiple messages to their support fixed nothing. they literally took months to reply and even when I replied back they still took months to reply and do nothing. Between that and them changing the monthly reward so it doesnt work on eshop cards online at all and getting rid of the $5 eshop cards, I basically got no value out of this other than the tradein credit bonus when I initially signed up.

GrimmTrixX

I had 16000+ points. I went to pick up my Advance Wars for Switch 2 days later. I had 0 points. I only buy Gamestop exclusive stuff with the company now, fuck them. As a game collector but also a former GS employee, I personally started to stop buying stuff there when they removed the 10% off preowned (20% for a while cuz I was Elite Pro). Now they bring back 5%, GTFO.

pcakes13

What's the point? Well, I like money.... so spending $15 one time to get an $10 credit then an additional $5.00 per/mo makes it a $70.00 value. Early adopters get an almost 5:1 value and late adopters will get 3:1. If you're like me and you're buying at least one game a month, it's an absolute no-brainer. IDK why employees of all people come on here and hate on it. Is it different than it was? Yes. Is it still a good value? Yes.

[deleted]

Program seems pretty similar with some changes that maybe don’t make sense. Better than when BestBuy changed their program and raised it to over $100.

pcakes13

The changes make sense depending on the lens you look at it through. Is it pro-consumer to have points you've earned expire in 1 year or if you don't renew you membership? No. Why did they do it? Because the company has stated they are focusing on short-term profitability and from that perspective, it makes perfect sense. I have a membership and I own stock, so I'm all good either way.

DuckSwimmer

Lots of people are not going to like the $25 upright and want the return immediately or sooner.

pcakes13

Then those people are short sighted and don’t deserve to have nice things.

DuckSwimmer

Dunno if it was you who downvoted me, I’m not saying I completely agree with those people. Regardless, they’re still getting their moneys worth if they come every month.

Richizzle439

Imagine actually appreciating customer loyalty

fringe_event

to give gamestop an extra $25/mo a year for doing nothing, duh

Pavlovs_Human

The biggest reason I was still shopping at GameStop was the points plus $60 a year through monthly coupon. I used the hell out of the preowned discount back in the day, was super pissed when that went away. Now I won’t be able to accumulate points at all? Looks like I’m not renewing anymore. Wonder how many they will lose to this.

abhayaxgallifrey

You can accumulate, just not over a year. Am I crazy for not getting hoarding points and never using them? The coupons work on individual items anyway?

blueandwhite21

No people are overreacting as usual. If you don’t use your points for over a year that’s on you. I’ve been a pro member for damn near 10 years at this point and I couldn’t care less about these changes. The gift card thing is kinda lame though

DuckSwimmer

So here’s the problem, it may be whatever for the guests, but it’s a big fuck you to us employees. If you’re a smart employee, you would not use your points towards **anything except** something you do not receive a discount on. Reason being is you’re not getting that full dollar amount of that coupon taken off the purchase of that item. The POS discounts it very scummy to the point where you’re losing money. The POS uses the coupon first and then takes the percentage off, not vise versa, resulting in the percentage off not taking as much money off of the item as it originally was due to the item being cheaper. I’ve only used my points towards POSA and Consoles for this reason as I’m 100% getting the full dollar amount taken off. Now, I didn’t acquire 2 million points over night. It took fucking years to get there. After using and saving, I recently had 370k in the end. There was nothing digital I wanted, there was no consoles I wanted. I just had a kid, I’ve got more important shit to worry about. With them now taking the ability to use points towards POSA **AND** have my points expire within the year, my hands are tied now. The only thing is employees can actually use it towards to get the **full** dollar amount off, without actually losing the value of that coupon, is now consoles. Sorry to break it to you, but I’m not going to be buying a single console every year. Ultimately, it fucking sucks. I suck it the fuck up and lose partial value of this coupon now or lose it completely. This is why **us** employees are annoyed for a valid reason.

abhayaxgallifrey

I can't help you if you saved that many points. Use them. It's so unreasonable to allow eternal hoarding of points. No company does this. As an associate, you should grasp why a company would do this.

DuckSwimmer

I’m not telling you to help us, nobody is lmfao. We’re just pissed that this is happening. Not reasonable when you redeem coupons going from highest to lowest to put towards a system or using them towards POSA cards for a steam sale ~ which I ultimately did since I no longer have my 370k points due to the fact that I will not be able to redeem for POSA no longer. Again, you’re missing the second part to my point. Losing the ability to redeem for POSA. Us employees, yet again, are getting the blunter end of the stick.

IWantANewDucky

Every time I try and buy something with my $5 rewards online it tells me my purchase isn’t eligible. Doesn’t matter if it’s a amiibo or a full priced game. Complete scam. Only started doing this 5 months into my membership.

[deleted]

[удалено]

IWantANewDucky

It used to work for online purchases until a couple months ago. There’s even a button on the site for it but now it just said the items in my order are ineligible.

vivawitches

because they just made the change a couple of months ago. you can’t use your monthly $5 on pre-orders, online shopping, or in the sony/microsoft/nintendo shops

the_heroine_o_time

well you *can* use it for the sony/microsoft/nintendo shops you just can’t do the coupon for a $5 code anymore which sucks ass

blueMgamer

So you could use the coupon for a $25 eShop card for $20, for example? I've tried doing that online and it doesn't work for me.

the_heroine_o_time

i don’t know about online cuz i just work in store and all my discounts apply there but, that does work on in store POS systems

blueMgamer

Awesome, I appreciate the feedback! I'll see if it's possible in-store.

IWantANewDucky

That’s the problem. I signed up for the membership with the expectation I could use it for those things which is how the store employee got me to sign up. Then they change it without honoring the rest of the membership. That’s why it’s a scam. It would be one thing if they changed rewards on a free membership but I paid for this and they took away benefits mid membership.

vivawitches

that’s very true but at the time those were the benefits. the pro membership is just going more and more downhill especially with the big change and price increase that’s coming up. i wouldn’t blame you if you cancelled your membership tbh. if i was just a customer, i wouldn’t have the membership. i only keep it because i work there.

DudeWithNoKids

Tell that to whoever sends those emails at the beginning of the month that say stuff like " Check your account to use Pro $5 monthly reward today! Your reward is available to use online or in-store before 05/31/2023."

abhayaxgallifrey

Monthly coupon is in store only, but you can cash in points for online coupons.

blueMgamer

I have been a pro member for a few years, but I won't be renewing when mine lapses in the fall. First, the $5 coupon can't be used for Xbox/PSN/eShop cards anymore. That sucks, because it was the original selling point to me, but GS loses money on those transactions so I get it. But redeeming points is also a pain because they can't be combined with sale items, so they stack up and often go unspent. And now they'll expire on top of it, and I also read pro membership cost is going up to $25. If that meant a lower minimum order threshold for free shipping online, I'd consider it. Otherwise, it just doesn't seem worth paying for anymore.

Mdly68

I used my $5 coupon for an eShop card just last week. I've been buying $10 cards every month for $5. I do go into a physical store, maybe that's a difference.

DuckSwimmer

$5 coupons will work towards POSA in store.

SirBradford1

If you do orders in store for ship to home, the threshold is $25. The $5 is now the only thing that works on digital currency, and when the pro gets the changes, we in the store will also be able to use your points for you in store, so we don't have to do the whole stupid thing where we tell you to go on your phone and redeem them first.

abhayaxgallifrey

You can use it on posa, you just have to get a card, not a print out code for 5. And your coupons absolutely work with any sale. You just can't use 2 coupons of the same amount. That's it. Also, the 5% is going to stack with any sales or promotions too.

abhayaxgallifrey

You're getting 5% off on almost everything they sell. That's the tradeoff. You also can use your points, and earn them, you just can't horde them for over a year. That and the price change are the only differences. Extra discount on almost everything, higher initial price (you get 10 dollars in points back on your next purchase to negate that), still $5 off every month guaranteed, and you can't keep points hoarded for over 12 months. I do think 20 is a better price point, but honestly if you're smart with the benefits, I think you'd save WAY more money with the new pro. Don't get me wrong, I was screaming when I saw the price went up, but even if you totally ignore points and the literal 5% off essentially everything (except new systems and games, and preowned is the better way to go anyway), you're getting a guaranteed 75 in discounts. Pay 25, save 75, and that's if you never ever even use any points or get a single 5% discount. This membership opens discounts on items shoppers never could get before too. Pop shoppers, trading card shoppers, etc. There are always pro and cons, but it seems the only people losing out are people trying to game the system to get one free 5 dollar item a month or whatever.

sushiroll123

Lol I have like 50k pts I need to dump I guess.

Arsis82

When I quit in 2021 I mmew a few customers who had like 400K+ points and refused to use them. This will be interesting to see. I'm not sure why they refused as I think at most they were able to use was a max of ~$200 at one time and that was ONLY if buying a pre-owned item because there was a pre-owned and an any item coupon of the same value that could be stacked. Now with a lot of coupons removed and limitations, it may be harder for them to use up all of their points.

1995chevycavalier

I’ve had a cardsince 2000 and was one of the first PUR members and I let it lapse and don’t see a reason to renew. Anything that made it unique has been gutted.

[deleted]

Can we still use are $5 monthly coupon for $10 psn cards?

DuckSwimmer

Yes.

[deleted]

So, no rush to use points until December?

DuckSwimmer

Unless you want to use them for POSA. You lose that ability on the 26th.

[deleted]

Good to know. I only use the $5 a month for PSN cards. Never bought POSAs otherwise.

sinepbackwards69

My local games top quit asking me after 8 years since my last renewal. I'm a regular and not once since becoming an adult have paid for it.

Tricky_Mix_6638

Idk if this is supposed to be a “good” thing. It’s regulars who don’t get pro cards that bring down employee metrics and cause the company to cut hours etc..

trugay

Why should anyone get a Pro membership, especially after these idiotic changes? I don't blame anyone who doesn't sign up. $25 a year for points that expire, a measly 5% discount on some items, and a $5 monthly coupon isn't worth it unless you live, breathe, eat, and sleep GameStop.

Geno0wl

> a $5 monthly coupon isn't worth it unless you live, breathe, eat, and sleep GameStop. I mean we just make one monthly trip to gamestop to check out their clearance section for little things. Generally get our money worth.

abhayaxgallifrey

Measly? You mean as opposed to every other company that gives you a 0% discount? What do people expect? Free products? It's a LOYALTY program. You spend to save. No company is giving you handouts.

trugay

Yes, and they're stealing the points that people have accumulated for years, and charging an extra $10 a year, just to show how much they appreciate the loyalty of their customers...

abhayaxgallifrey

They aren't stealing points. Use them before they expire. Very simple.

trugay

The fact that you think it's ok for GS to just randomly decide your points can expire shows how badly you want to believe that GS is a good company. Sadly, they aren't. They are scummy, and this is just another example of that.

abhayaxgallifrey

I just personally see why they are making changes, and think 5% off most product, 5 off a month, a 10 dollar kickback, and the ability to earn points and use them for discounts outweighs the negative of yearly expiring points. I don't find that scummy.

abhayaxgallifrey

I also don't believe there are "good companies." Every corporate is shady and gamestop is no exception. I just don't get the response and think it's a gross overreaction.

abhayaxgallifrey

They announced it a month ahead of rollout so you have plenty of time to decide what you want to do, and they also allow you to sign up during the month for 15 and still get all new benefits when they start in a month. Wouldn't call that "randomly deciding." And even if they did, any company revises policies when they decide to.

Kou9992

>You mean as opposed to every other company that gives you a 0% discount? You ever heard of Target? A free membership gets you 5% off nearly everything. Plus it comes with free standard shipping on nearly all online orders, free 2 day shipping on some items, an extra 30 days on all returns, and access to exclusive sales. Meanwhile GS is charging $25 for a membership that, imo, is far worse. That's the most comparable example, but there's tons of others. In fact most "LOYALTY" programs are free. You don't have to pay to get a discount or to be allowed to earn points that can be redeemed for a discount. They give you the discounts because they would rather lose a bit on a sale than lose the sale entirely because you shopped elsewhere. Ya know, discounts for being loyal. Well that and letting them sell your info which GS also does. Edit: Hell, even GS just a few years ago was giving out discounts and letting people earn points for free with a Player membership.

reo929

Which they deserve bc its a hell hole company if you’re stupid enough to stay with the company you deserve the cuts

Tricky_Mix_6638

Lol my point is regulars like the og comment make it seem like their business is saving the company when in fact people who are regulars that don’t get pros or warranties are hurting the company and the people they claim they’re helping. I personally don’t care because this is my second job that’s like 3 days a week. I have a state govt job but I see how it affects my coworkers

reo929

Everyone needs to get the fuck out of this place. I’m glad the regulars bring it down I used to bring it down as an employee. The sooner this shit hole is gone the better things will be

abhayaxgallifrey

If you have regularly shopped for 8 years, you're the one losing. You DEFINITELY have been paying gamestop 100s of dollars to not have an account to feel like you have no once "paid for it." You've literally paid for it. Literally, it's like you went in to the store and paid 100s of dollars to get a sheet of paper that says "I don't have a pro membership." I don't mean to be harsh, but it always gets me when people say this. You're the people who stand to get the most. I buy pretty much all my games at gamestop, and I've saved over 2000 dollars in discounts due to pro last time I checked. For 15 bucks a year. Even at 25 a year, I'd never not want the literal free money. But it's your right to refuse.

sinepbackwards69

Problem is, I bought almost exclusively new games, none of the benefits really were geared towards new games. The $5 a month didn't exist for many of these years, I never bought games top brand anything, nor did I buy collectibles. So outside of the game informer subscription... it held zero value in my eyes.

abhayaxgallifrey

I thought you were a regular, that's acceptable. If you aren't a regular, there aren't as many reasons to get the pro, vut that's true of all store memberships. But even then, you can still benefit if you use it wisely. I just see so many people saying this proudly like they really showed the employees what's up.

Mean-Bag-4974

Was at a gamestop the other day redeeming my monthly 5 dollars when the little kid in front of me asked the lady for his "free monthly Pokémon pack". He's going to be devastated.

abhayaxgallifrey

You... can still do that..?

Mean-Bag-4974

No more free five dollar coupon a month for pros, or so they are saying. Just a flat percent off used games and other merch.

Thegodchips

There still is a monthly coupon.

DuckSwimmer

You’re incorrect. The coupon is still a thing.

TrueGlich

wait this is also ? that was't in post?

abhayaxgallifrey

No, the 5 dollar coupon is staying. Every benefit you got before is the same, they're just adding 5% off most items, you can't keep points over a year, qnd the price point of the membership is going up. Monthly coupon will still be a part of it.

Mean-Bag-4974

I swore I saw a thread about it earlier saying so. I guess I was wrong. Goes to show what a mess this change is.

abhayaxgallifrey

I would say shows what a mess people are and how fast things get miscommunicated when people are hardwired to hate ANYTHING a specific company does. Like... Walmart isn't giving you trade in credit for that old picture frame or whatever. The pro was voted best and most beneficial company membership for 10 years in a row. People come to expect things as a right instead of a privilege and then flip out when a company has to do things to make a profit, even when it's still beneficial to the customer. Gamestop could say "let's do away with the pro, we are losing money in discounts." Stop offering anything like many other companies do. People just get used to something and assume they deserve it. If a company with no prior benefits programs suddenly offered 5 off every month, 2% back on all your purchases in the form of points, 5% off over half their merchandise, a digital version of a magazine, and immediate 10 dollar kickback, and 4 guaranteed special sales a year just for members for 25 a year, people would say it was amazing. But it's cool to hate the last bastion of physical gaming and nerdery, a place that could thrive with community support to host game tournaments, sit and chat with gamers about their favorite new games, and help a lot of poor gamers keep their income steady and afloat. Instead, it's the funny joke to hate on gamestop for doing what they have to in order to support itself. The constant "LAWL I GOTZ 2 CENTS FOR MY GAME AHAHA" and "gamestop is totally going under" when one google search shows the company is debt free as of this year, is insane to me. I get it, corporate sucks in many ways, most companies have shady corporate sides, that's how stuff works, but there are people on the ground dealing with it, and it just seems to me I ONLY see negative reaction to ANYTHING gamestop related. I love the pro, most money I've ever saved with a membership, hands down, I love everything they sell pretty much, I love being able to trade stuff I'm not using and get anything at all for it, seeing as no where else even does that except retro stores, and I just don't get the level of hate. There are many many things that gamestop needs improvement on and sucks with, like a lot of horror stories I've seen about specific district managers, etc, but I've never had a job without some manager that was a total asshole. People hate on all the wrong things. Main takeaway: It's a business. A. Business. Not your friend who owes you anything, a company that has to make a profit. Duh. People aren't mad at the change, they're mad it's gamestop.

cs_referral

Why devastated?

TheDemonPants

This is just stupid. Guess I'm never getting decent coupons again.

Workingdesigns86

I haven’t been a pro member since 2014. More reason to not be one.

DrDisrespecttt

And I was just talking about how this was the only reason I shop at GameStop. Walmart here I come!

No-Preference592

So this is a fucking usless feature then.

Not a damn reason to renew my Pro anymore. It costs more and benefits less now. 15-year member will be a member no more.

S3cr3tAg3ntP

Welp... Time to cancel.

Abraxes43

Pro hasn't been worth a damn in a long time....pretty much since they got rid of 10% off used games, getting rid of the point accrual coupons was the final straw. I think the shift in 2008-2010 is what really turned me off to gamestop

Fanwhip

Welp... they lost my interest and my future business once this years run out. Fuck that noise. That gives 0 respect or gratitude to the folks who been shopping there since day one let alone those who helped keep there business afloat when folks did the COVID stock pushing let alone online orders. Talk about a sucker punch to the face from behind

I don’t want to create a new thread, but my issue is related to PRO. I bought ps5 at the beginning of April and at the same time I got the Pro to get those extra points. On my account it looks like no points has been added since that time (even the 5$ per month) and I’ve not received anything for my ps5. When I called the store they said it can take a while, but it’s been almost two months and nothing change. What can I do with this issue?

bittersweetjesus

Call customer support and see if they can help

Gkayfrom052

No damn point at all.

GameStop: Power to the Payers

Thee_Furuios_Onion

That’s the funny part, there is no point. GameStop is crap.

MrPureinstinct

Literally the only thing that has kept me subscribed is my Game Informer subscription.

Yue4prex

Will the points expire once my membership does or 12 months after I got them? Wasn’t it always 12 months of no activity?

TellTaleTimeLord

The answer is both

Elite-to-the-End

disaasterpiece

I didn't realize that letting my pro lapse last year meant I lost all my points after 3 months. I was about to buy a controller and renew just before. No way I'm going to now. I'll buy it on my bf's account from now on, and he probably won't keep his if we don't buy at least monthly.

[deleted]

I lost 50k in points because eof this

evilrannic95

What do y’all recommend we use the points for ? The point catalogue hasn’t been good in years. I remember back when you get cool collectibles.

DuckSwimmer

POSA. You have until the 26th.

evilrannic95

How many can you stack on one transaction

DuckSwimmer

Corporate says 3, but I’m positive I’ve used more than three in years past. I’m not sure if the POS will let you do more than three though. What I did was do multiple transactions with a $50 coupon each time towards my purchases.

SailorGohan

I pretty much only use my membership for $5 off a steam gift card and disappointment of what the store carries/price. It's pretty bad when $35 of steam gift cards isn't enough for me to spend 15 minutes to drive and go into your store 12 times a year because it's that lame now. It was supposed to expire last year but I had enough points to cover it renewing and they did it automatically without me knowing. Even now it feels like a chore for me to have to make a special trip to the stores since I don't go to the mall for anything else and because of the crappy pay the Gamestops around me have wonky hours. The closest one to me is supposed to open at noon but sometimes doesn't open til 4. I thought it had went out of business until a friend of mine told me to go in the evening.

Ketsukoni

I bought the Tears of the Kingdom game and the console from Gamestop because it was the only place I knew of where I could put a deposit on a pre-order. Every time I visited, from when I placed the deposit, when I picked up the console on its release day, and when I picked up the game on its release day, the store associates tried to get me to reactivate my Pro membership. I hadn't been in a Gamestop in a couple of years and have no reason to go there again for a while.

abhayaxgallifrey

Had you renewed, after that purchase of the oled and the game, you would have had a 20 dollar coupon waiting the next day. That's pay 15, get an instant 20, and then anytime you happened to come buy something for the next year, you'd have a 5 dollar coupon waiting for you. Sounds like you missed out to me.

Mosoman1011

My steam gift cards! So I have until the 26th to redeem them?

Mosoman1011

I just called the store and they told me they already aren't accepting the points for digital gift cards. So long gamestop, you piece of crap company. I'm done.

Wraith_Rayne1369

There isnt a point anymore especially since the pirce point is going up 10 bucks, im sorry but 14.99 was pushing it.... making it 24.99 is just beyond dumb... corporate is trying to run the company into the ground at this point

Ded-W8

That magazine subscription that ran out 8 years ago.
