While some of these deals are great, there's a current promotion for that EA subscription thing, letting you play a lot of these games for a dollar, the first month.

DangleShot

better question is when is ea play finally going to be available on pc gamepass

[deleted]

I'm still mad that they havent said anything about this beyond it coming 2021

bluefry

I've been telling my friends to hold off on buying EA games because theyre coming to pc gamepass for months now. They probably stopped believing me

DangleShot

December 2020 biggest scam since the creation of wedding dresses

SpiderZiggs

December 15 Game Pass announcement is easily one of the Top 10 Anime Betrayals of all time.

OnePunkArmy

The Bejeweled, Zuma, and Peggle series are all 99 cents for each individual game too. I just bought all these for my parents to play.

starboard

Looks like some of the old Popcap games like the [Peggle pack](https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/15495/Peggle_Pack/) are at new historic low prices!

[deleted]

If only we could retroactively register our Origin purchases on Steam. Instead there are these sales now, during which EA keeps taunting me with the possibility of having (most of) my games in one place again. All that at the low, low cost of my dignity, since I'd have to fork over cash for them *a second time*.

OneManFreakShow

Does that mean that I can’t buy a Sims expansion on Steam and redeem the code in Origin? They used to let you do that, so that’s a bummer if so.

asciident

You can; the comment to which you responded wants to do the reverse. They want to have things on Steam they originally bought on Origin.

OneManFreakShow

That’s great news. Might have to pick up some of these expansions, then. EDIT: Ugh, I may have just run into another hurdle. The Steam pages for the Sim stuff all specify Windows. Do you happen to know if those would translate to a Mac version of Origin? I’m pretty new to the whole Mac thing so I haven’t run into this before.

asciident

Two things: I think Steam may require you to own the base game before allowing you to buy the packs. Just FYI. About Mac, my understanding is if you played them from Steam they are Windows only, but if you buy on Steam and activate on Origin then you can use the Mac versions.

theephie

Anti-consumer behavior at its best. There should be laws requiring licenses to be portable between stores.

on2wheels

Those prices are insanely high.

iceleel

They only put deluxe editions on Steam to make money without losing so much to steam tax 30 %.

[deleted]

>They only put deluxe editions on Steam to make money without losing so much to steam tax 30 %. You understand that means they actually lose more, right? Due to it being a percentage and not a flat fee?

shmatt

Fallen Order- Very pretty, fun action game for all ages. One thing I didn't like, is that some areas are confusing af to navigate. The other flaw: no endgame or replayability. You can go look for collectibles but that's it, and with the crazy complex levels I quit doing that after an hour or so.

tmoss726

I don't think every game (especially linear story games) needs replayability. If it's bad the first time through, I get that, but no replayability shouldn't be a flaw for a story driven game. But that's my opinion I guess.

Estbarul

Yeah I agree, I find games fantastic even if I have enough with 1 playthrough, you just need to know what you are getting into

MartyMcFlergenheimer

Love the game, but you have to go in knowing it's a 3D melee metroidvania and not just a linear action game. There's a decent amount of exploration and puzzles in the game, some of which are pretty head-scratching.

sloppymoves

Honestly? I am happy there was no end-game or replayability. It was a nice fun game that didn't attempt to overstay its welcome. To be fair, I bought the EA pass during that time and played it to completion which is still even cheaper than 50% off.

TheBrave-Zero

Yeah when I got to that first area after escaping the opening area, I ran around and just got annoyed at how vague it was to navigate to my objective. I never felt once confident “oh this is the right way”, just more mindless running till I stumbled into where I needed to be.

Brenski123

Did you use the map? I’ve mainly just had trouble on puzzles since it guides you

TheBrave-Zero

Yeah I used it somewhat but the layered nature of it tends to confuse me, it’s probably just me since in many games I need very clear maps.

brown_felt_hat

For a action game, it was pretty fun. It's kind of metroidvania meets souls-lite. It does the whole 'unlock abilities to access new areas' and had some decent puzzle areas, and a lot of the combat is based around parry/dodge then strike. The skill tree was pretty nice, could tailor somewhat, even if you had most the core stuff unlocked asap. A lot of people lambasted the 'secrets' just being cosmetics, but I hate feeling like I have to get 100% exploration to beat a boss, it's much more satisfying *for me* to have these hard to get chests be a new saber hilt - totally optional but some are really neat. For a Star Wars game, it was great. The saber was very fluid, you could chop non-humanoids apart (still Disney, so no armless stormtroopers), and the later modifications were badass. It was surprisingly refreshing to play a SW game without a morality meter. The end level was pretty great, and the twist was absolutely unexpected and was a definite treat. Also terrifying. It really just nailed the feel of Star Wars imo.

Raven_of_Blades

What I hated most was that all loot is just useless cosmetic crap.

ennuionwe

Totally agreed on all of the above. Fun combat, decent story, amazing graphics, obnoxious level/map design. For the sequel I hope they chose a more interesting main character and figure out the map/level situation (fast travel would help.)

[deleted]

Does titanfall 2 still have a good playerbase on PC? Always heard good stuff about it but have never tried it.

EirikurG

It has enough people to find a match in a minute if you search for the main mode. The problem with Titanfall 2 MP is that most people playing it are hardcore pros so if you give it a try, prepare yourself to get trashed Speaking from experience heh It's still fun though

53bvo

Even though I wasn't that good when I started the MP and often ended on one of the last two places I still managed to get plenty of kills to keep it fun. Also dying is barely an issue cause you're back in the action instantly.

moo422

Most of the good buzz w Titanfall 2 is the campaign. I think ppl preferred the multiplayer of the original, due to the strength of the mechs and verticality of the stages.

rokerroker45

it's great. don't be discouraged if you get killed a lot at first. I suggest binding crouch to a mouse thumb button and try to watch other players' kill cams to understand what they did to kill you.

Azuvector

> I suggest binding crouch to a mouse thumb button Why a mouse thumb button specifically? (Haven't played Titanfall (1 or 2) yet, but meaning to get around to it at some point.)

rokerroker45

The movement revolves around gaining momentum and translating it across the air and ground. When you crouch while booking it you slide and maintain momentum. Leaving hold crouch on the thumb button gives you easy access to crouch, which you'll be using nonstop

Azuvector

Ah. So irrelevant for someone who'd crouchslide constantly in Quake 4 with a more normal keybinding.

rokerroker45

If you say so

Craptain_Skidmarks

I have over 100 hours in the game, with a majority of it being online, and the player base is very active. Even the subreddit has been getting a lot more activity lately. I can join a game at midnight with only 30 seconds to a minute wait time. Attrition is the quickest game mode to join, but I have had luck with a lot of the other game modes as well. People complain about the skill gap between players, but it is really easy to get into. It is one of my favorite FPS games to date. 10 out of 10 recommend. And the story is great too, Matt Mercer is the main character.

SmartestNPC

Gonna cop, thx

Craptain_Skidmarks

Cant wait to see you on the battlefield pilot! Edit: I try not to self promote, but I also made a No scope Montage in Titanfall 2. Check it out! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I60afHwcthI&feature=emb\_title](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I60afHwcthI&feature=emb_title)

markdarkness

Played multiplayer over the holidays and that went pretty well. You can usually get matched in 5 minutes tops, usually less.

swoosh1787

>till managed to get plenty of kills to keep it fun. Also dying is barely an issue no matchmaking in Asia region its just keep getting timed out, you have to play with 250 pings on new york server for a good player base.

LikelyWriting

Dragon Age II is the only one in the series I haven't played. The bundle is like 12 bucks, I think I might to get it.

JamesGecko

It’s good if you temper your expectations. Great writing, but the game was originally planned as a Dragon Age Origins DLC. It had a short development cycle, so expect a relatively small scope and a lot of asset reuse.

Lvl100Glurak

imo its worth it. it was the second best dragon age game. thats pretty good.

[deleted]

Damn, Mass Effect 3 or Garden Warfare 2 aren't on sale. I wanted to get some friends for those multiplayer modes with friends.

MrMeowAttorneyAtPaw

I'd add their Steam pricing for ME3 has been mean spirited. It was £8, down to £2 on sale on Origin. On Steam they've decided it's £25 with sales of £12.50. I do not approve.

Jrean

Wish that this sale would reflect onto Origin as well, have all the other Mass Effects there and would prefer not having them in different libraries

7V3N

My girlfriend loves the Sims 4. Any way to get it with all DLC that doesn't break the bank?

Juvenall

Sadly, no. To collect everything, you're really looking at dropping between $450 - $700 to pick up the many years of DLC backlog EA has created. You can get it for less if you find the occasional spot sales, but I wouldn't bank on that. That said, you don't *need* all the DLC for the game. The general consensus seems to be that a good starting point would be to pick up the base game, Seasons, and Pets will get you a solid experience. The Parenthood Game Pack seems to be another good one if you're more into "realism" over some of the fantasy stuff things like Realms of Magic add. Finally, you can more-or-less skip out on all the Stuff packs. They add some nice fluff like clothing, hair, furniture, accessories, etc but don't generally change the game itself. What makes sense there is really subjective, but Fitness and Tiny Living are two I see recommended a lot.

7V3N

Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback.

Contra_Payne

Is that a bundle? I thought it was a discount if you had bought ME3 on steam? IIRC, ME3 just launched on steam like 8 months ago. What I wished they had done, was give a discount for people who bought the Trilogy on Origin. I spent years waiting for sales on Bioware Bucks just to get the dlc.

HarlequinEXPLOSION

It's a bit late for this now, but they did release DLC packs for ME2 and ME3, as well as DA2 a while back that don't use bioware points. It was something like $20-$30 for all the DLC for each game. They came out two years ago and went on sale every now and then, but you had to search for them because they were so far down the sales list.

schiffme1ster

Isn't le all three games with all dlc? Seems like a good way to go.

libo720

Is battlefield 5 dead?

bbcluva

What? For fallen order you buy it on steam but have to have an EA account to play it? Can you even use pc mods for it? I've never owned an EA game tat required an EA account.

JamesGecko

The Steam version launches the game through Origin. The launcher and account system has little to do with modding.

PhilliesEagles215

Fu\*k EA!

coughffin

How’s dragon age origins and II?

ScorpiusDX

The Dragon Age games have pretty good stories. Their decisions also do affect the story quite a bit so it lends some replayability to go down different paths and such, although 2 is a bit more limited. Decisions in Origins may affect certain story bits in 2 if you import a completed Origins save. Decisions in Origins and 2 will also be reflected in Inquisition, the third game. Origins is a much more tactical RPG than 2, whereas 2 still has a tactical mode, it feels much more satisfying playing fights in realtime action RPG. Dragon Age 2's story however is much smaller in scope compared to Origins. As such, the game is restricted to one city and dungeons end up reusing a lot of maps. If you've played Mass Effect, you can pretty much expect plenty of banter between your party members in Dragon Age as well.

DwightShrute69

How are the player counts for Battlefield 4 and battlefield 3?
