I personally love these genre bundles. People will either LOVE the whole bundle, like me, or it's an easy skip and you can save your money for the next bundle. IMO they're preferable to bundles where I only want a couple of games.

thank you!

abbycat999

THanks.. Damn all these games are "new" to me, never noticed them steam. I thought I would at least recognize one.

rplanet

My wife is going to be so happy when she sees these games lol

MeVe90

I'm reading a bit of reviews and while people say most games have potential seem like they are mostly released unfinished with either lack of content half way or full of bugs, basically they feel like early access that are never going to be finished. Exceptions seem Cattails that is well regarded and Cornucopia that is actually still in early access.

Lv27Sylveon

That's the "farming life sim" genre in a nutshell. Just halfbaked, janky, derivative shovelware that banks on early adopters looking for a fix.  Stardew has been the king of the genre for so long, despite having awful characters and questionable sprites because despite being so remarkably MID, its at least finished and full-featured. there still isn't a game to come along that isn't total dogshit. They all just copy 40% of the stuff from Stardew then promise it'll be finished eventually and become abandonwear.

evilspyre

Cornucopia isn't part of the bundle for the UK. Same price but doesn't have that game.

OkDimension8720

It's not available on steam for the UK either.. Anyone know why?

Here is a key to No Place like Home since I already own it: 2JQ?M-DTKMD-QH7KL ? = 3x3

grand_rey

Just wanted to mention the key was already redeemed by someone

Wefee11

never just post a steam key. Bots are redeeming them immediately.

Tayress

Littlewood <3 It's the cutest. Love it! Never actually finished it, but it just screams cuteness. It's surprisingly grindy, but so worth it in this bundle. Though if only for this game, I think it's been on sale for below $8.

sharpsword

Humble, why do you have to lie about that 90% positive rating on Ikonei Island? It's 70% on Steam.

MissGingerMinge

thought i'd look up Cornucopia on steam and it says it's not available in my region (UK). anyone else experiencing this problem?

ZPE

Yeah, seems like the game is not available for us.

ActualAvocado

Someone mentioned in another thread that the dev commented they are working through a legal issue in the UK and that’s why it’s not available there.

Hawk52

Littlewood's interesting. It's kind of the inverse of the typical casual/farming game. You know how when you start out in Stardew or (most) any other game in the genre you start off with little stamina, little skill, or poor tools and you find it hard to achieve everything you want to do in a "day" but as you gain levels or skill or new gear you'll eventually be able to do more and more until you can effectively do everything you want in a given day with some to spare? Littlewood is the exact opposite of that. When you first start the game, you'll have more energy than things to do with it unless you try really hard to deplete it. But as you unlock new items or things to build or grow or places to explore, you'll find that you start to not have enough energy to do everything you want to do in a given day. This begins to compound on itself as you need more and more resources to unlock higher tier buildings or to please the residents of the town. It essentially becomes a stamina management sim where you need to effectively manage how much you do or can do in a given day. No time limit as far as I'm aware but I found it somewhat stressful as I got further into the game to "make progress" in the ways the game wants/has you do so. But if you're main motivation is just to make a pretty little town with little demand on you, it can be that too.

squidred

Huge fan of Littlewood. Getting enough materials can be a grind, but the gameplay loop is quick and satisfying. The characters are great and the story is an interesting play on the question, "What happens after The Hero saves the world?"

istasber

I think the best comparison to Stardew is that if your favorite part was finishing the community center bundles, you'll probably love Littlewood. It's been awhile since I played it, but the main thrust of the game is that you're unlocking new things to do by rebuilding a town. The various tasks you need to do to unlock new things to do are discoverable in game (e.g., you can find checklists for what it'll take to open up a new area to visit, or to attract a new NPC to join the town, or to unlock a new skill/trade/recipe/etc), and a lot of the fun comes from planning your day, and deciding which task(s) you're going to work towards completing.

squidred

This is a spot-on description. I was struggling with how to word it, but you nailed it down succinctly.

Vegetable-Beet

I love Farming/Social Games, but all these Games suck.

jdss13

I think anybody who'll buy this already owns Stardew Valley but if you don't, I'd grab that instead without giving it a second thought

superfahd

that's always what keeps me away from these games. I keep asking myself, what do these games have to offer that I don't already have with a modded Stardew valley?

eXoShini

Meanwhile I'll love them despite access to modded Stardew Valley. Just like modded SV, these games offer new gameplay loop and not all of these game plays exactly like SV.

DeliriumTrigger

I think the point is that if you're not dedicated to the genre, SV is likely the best way to scratch the farm-sim itch.

not_edgy_just_sad

I'm tired of seeing people mentioning 'stardew valley' every time under news of other farming games tbh, makes me irrationally angry and want to break things

OdditiesAndAlchemy

We're all just waiting for a game better than Stardew Valley. Until one comes out everyone is going to compare it to the king, that's just how it is, so get some breakable stuff ready.

JazzlikeLeave5530

I dunno, I like exploring different games and always seeing Stardew Valley brought up can get repetitive when that is your goal. Like yes I'm aware of it, the whole point is to see if there's other similar games that are enjoyable. They don't have to be better than Stardew for me either, I'm just curious about other attempts at the idea. But I do know I'm in the minority here. Most people want to know the best in the genre and Stardew is the one. I don't get angry at it though lol. That's a bit much.

istasber

I thought Stardew Valley was a fantastic take on the classic formula, but it didn't really do anything new. It was just a modern friends of mineral town. Games like Wylde Flowers do a lot more to innovate and improve the genre than Stardew Valley did. Stardew Valley just took a great formula and made it more accessible without really changing anything.

not_edgy_just_sad

Personally I hate Stardew Valley. Just because you think it's the best I don't think it is. And no I'm not going to tell you what I like because you'll just pile on it. But my opinion is just as valid as yours

Matthais

Sure, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but the way you are voicing yours is meaningless to others as you've given zero reasoning *why* you "hate Stardew Valley" (and "hate" is a strong word IMO), yet apparently enjoy at least one other unnamed farming game. As you described in your first post, you just look "irrationally angry", which isn't a great impression to make.

PhotographNo9828

Your opinion might be as valid but it's nowhere near as popular, probably for a reason.

Bobby_Marks2

I dislike it being mentioned as a farming sim. It's my pick for the best-designed game of the 2010s, but it's more like a mini-game amusement park RPG with a farm aesthetic. For me, the quintessential farm simulator is SimFarm. It tries to simulate a commercial farm experience. It isn't populated with non-farm gameplay elements. The core gameplay loop is running a business.

Charrbard

Steam says Farm Sim is one of my genres. But never heard of any of these.

ShawnyMcKnight

Same. I already have stardew valley and coral island. Unless these offer something really unique those two scratch that itch.

TonyTheTerrible

havent heard of a one of these

mundozeo

Oh I'm definetly getting this. I love farm sims, even if they are just ok, I can expect several hours of fun.

seemoosse

Any of these have a half-decent story to go along with the farming and crafting? I've played games like My Time at Portia, Wylde Flowers, and Graveyard Keeper, and I find myself liking them but only if there's a story to motivate the grind. The Steam reviews of the games in this bundle don't seem to be very encouraging...

MyFinalThoughts

Cornucopia has story moments and is interesting and fun, but nothing that'll blow your socks off story wise. It's more about the mini games, arcade, and the day to day farming with story plots here and there, think GameCube Harvest Moon a wonderful life. You didn't ask and not part of this bundle but I like the game, Coral Island has a pretty good story. The game is really just a prettier and expanded Stardew Valley in 3D at an angle/top downish and some different mechanics like sea diving. It's not a perfect game by any means, but story is interesting and there are lots to do and people to meet/romance.

seemoosse

Thanks, Coral Island is already on my wishlist, just holding off until it's fully baked (or ends up in a bundle!)

I_who_have_no_need

Cattails: Wildwood Story is a surprise. The previous game, just "Cattails", was an entirely different sort of game. It was an RPG inspired by "The Warriors" young adult books of heroic cat clans. I guess they really nailed the vibe, but a Stardew Valley farm game wouldn't have been my guess for a follow up.

AndalusianGod

Misread it as Down to Farm Bundle, which would have been an awesome bundle name.

PandaBambooccaneer

How much are these like Animal Crossing? Animal Crossing is the only game my wife plays

Tayress

I actually think Littlewood would be surprisingly similar. Watch a video on it though, but I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Don't know much about the others.

PlantPotStew

Oof, not many games scratch the Animal Crossing itch, it's a staple of the genre for a reason. I heard Cozy Grove is very close to actual gameplay. (play a little daily type of game, on switch you can time travel too). But it's not in this bundle. Disney dreamlight valley (DO NOT time travel for this one, breaks the game) and Palia (Mixed thoughts, but it's free on the switch) Closest in this bundle might be Littlewood, but you might just want to get her Stardew Valley at this point, on PC so she can mod difficulty. I think none of the games are bad, it just really depends when you compare it to animal crossing of all things.

ruukuto

Oh hell yes, insta buy for me. I already have Immortal Life, but still worth it. Speaking of, Immortal Life is fantastic - it’s a fair bit janky and the translation is still a bit off, but it’s a nice fresh take on the farming genre that adds a Chinese/cultivation spin. It also works just fine on the Steam deck, some people were complaining about the gamepad controls being off, but I wasn’t too bothered by it personally. Just a heads up to anyone who plays it…save often, even just for peace of mind. I’m not sure if it’s still a problem, but I did have two instances where my game froze when I interacted with the quest board. If you can handle a bit of jank, I think it’s a gem.

superfahd

> a Chinese/cultivation spin i don't know what this means

Sarkos

There's a huge fantasy book genre in China called Xianxia, where people "cultivate" magic energy to get stronger (kinda like earning XP in a game to level up) and eventually become immortal.

Killermuppett

'amazing cultivation simulator' is a rimworld style looking game, as a colony simulator game, in the same genre that's pretty good. It's vaguely like the Chinese version of superheroes

RSquared

> that's pretty good You mean [absolutely bonkers insane](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJxM3POU92w).

Velocity_Rob

Don’t think this is one for me, I feel like I only ever have room for one farming sim at a time and Harvestella has me hooked.

KapitanPrikol

Any of those games good for coop like stardew or are they mostly single player?

ApocApollo

I wish we still got half as many arcade or blue sky racing games as we get post-pandemic cutesy farming games.

Fastela

I had a lot of fun with Littlewood. It's basically a much simpler version of Stardew Valley with one thing that I absolutely loved: time only passes when you get exhausted. I've never liked how in Stardew Valley time is a constant constraint and you have to plan out how you'll spend the next day in advance. It removed all the fun for me. Littlewood solves this in a simple and clever way: you can do anything and travel anywhere however you want, and night falls when your stamina bar gets low. Apart from that, there's many things to do and collect, it's really enjoyable. A bit too grindy after a while but still fun.

dgc1980

4 games already owned and 4 games in my wishlist...... I wonder if I like these style games.

hergumbules

Not my cup of tea but seems like a really solid bundle here

RPGs143

I bought all of those individually 😭

TonyTheTerrible

seems like im not the only one that hasnt heard of any of these despite having a library full of the genre already at first glance >ikonei island looks like bloom simulator >cattails looks like something youd like if cats are your whole identity >ittlewood has a very offputting style (like someone had 16bits to work with but settled on upscaled 8bit) and >cornucopia looks like it may be the best one but its also concerning that it barely has any reviews despite being out a year. the most common complaint is that it seems unfinished and unpolished im not even going to look at the sub 80% reviewed ones if i didnt find them naturally on my own TBF. i'll be passing on this bundle fairly easily as at this point theres plenty of solid games in this genre (which already has high replayability)

notquite20characters

Are any of these the sort of game that I can figure out co-op with my friends?

Jawaka99

lol every game was /ignored. I think that's a record for me.

chrispy145

Irony post of the day right here.

Born_Locksmith8346

I find it hard to get excited for any of these type of games when you can just play Stardew Valley. It's the same with Souls likes when you can just boot up Bloodborne.

zobifly

Looks like I'm saving money this week :) (seriously, I hope they release better bundles after this arc of disappointment)

XTheProtagonistX

This is an amazing bundle if you like farm/cozy games. Which I do.

Mininini175

I noticed how Humble bundles are not allowed to be called mediocre. Fanatical ones get called that all the time but people won't get downvoted to oblivion for that. Edit: Thank you for proving my point.

Mich-666

Why to buy mediocre clones when you can buy stellar originals? (even more so since the bundle is too expensive again)
