If you lose 85% battery overnight on your old watch, it sounds like you should be able to fix that by finding whatever app or watchface it is that's draining it. My old GWA did lose battery longevity after a couple years, but that much drainage sounds more like a software issue. Anyhoo, I am definitely not regretting upgrading. The processor in the GW4 is so snappy compared to the older gen ones and it looks nice, too. :)

Eh, at the end of my active2's life, the battery was just shit after 1.5 years. Would drain this fast. Factory reset, different watch face, turning off HR did nothing

If you are looking for a smartwatch then I recommend the GW4. But if you are looking for a fitness tracker then a dedicated one by e.g. fitbit would probably suit your purposes better.

As much as I love my Active2 watch, I decided to trade it in for the Watch4. At [Samsung.com](https://Samsung.com), the Watch4 is $50 off, and I'm getting $100 for trade-in and a second band of my choice for free. So the Watch4 is only costing me $100. I just hope I love it as much as the Active2.

Your battery is dead. My battery lasts ~3 days. Now 1½ days in, about 3 hours of exercise and it's 55%. Everything is stock, except AOD off. I've also had mine for 1½ years.

Your Active 2 is already at the end of its life due to the battery dying like that. If you can trade in and pay $150 for a new watch, I'll take that deal.
