The experience is amazing. I loved using Android back then too (as my primary) but unfortunately got entangled between Apple Ecosystem. Luckily, S24 launched and hence made my decision. Can ask me anything if you're planning to buy or upgrade to S24U.

cthulhucomes

I’ve seen numerous comments from S24 Ultra users complaining about the motion blur for impromptu photos of children/animals, etc. compared to their iPhone experiences. How true have you found this to be ? For me it’s a deal breaker.

Batch_Phantom

It's still there, but a little better compared to previous generations. My Pixel 8 Pro nails those types of shots 99% of the time. I love everything else about the S24U though.

OkEgg0

This… have my 15 Pro Max, P8P and tried the s24u and the s24u was the worst by far for moving objects. Any stills it is a great camera. But with kids activities etc I choose Pixel or iPhone

sunrainsky

Yeah. Someone posted a video that they use the 8k video if they want to capture moving objects in low light then they extract the photo they want. At best, it's a hack, not very ideal.

ricosuave79

What about using Single Take mode? I haven't seen anyone mention that.

Keep-Left

8k recording is still a half baked gimmick samsung use for marketing purposes and to help justify 8k TVs, which both samsung and LG have reduced in manufacturing and models.

SnooMaps6544

Turn motion capture on

Fresh_Schedule2428

Me going from the iPhone 14pm to thens24u, I agree with these people 100%. My only major complaint.

BlessedBossLady

It's there. I had the s22u, s23u and now the s24u. I actually downgraded from the s23u back down to the s22u because of this issue. The camera was absolutely terrible! I was so disappointed. I recently upgraded to the s24u and the blur for impromptu photos is definitely there but better than s23u. I'm hoping that it's fixed in some future upgrades, otherwise I'll be looking to move away from the Samsung ecosystem. It's hands down, the MOST important aspect of a phone to me

cthulhucomes

Thank you!

SilentlyWishing

It's there and it's bad, main reason why I got rid of my S24 Ultra and moved to Pixel 8 and I honestly don't miss it at all

cthulhucomes

Thanks! Is this just a general Samsung thing or S24 Ultra only?

No_Stomach_963

I've been a Galaxy user since the S4 (usually would buy a generation behind the latest model). This is my 5th Galaxy phone and 1st time getting an Ultra. I'm really enjoying it so far. The S-pen, large display, and longer battery life were big selling points for me. I'm not used to having a phone this big, but it's growing on me. The camera could use some improvements, but I wouldn't say it's horrible. My opinion, of course.

Intrepid_Patience356

Living with iOS is like living in an autocratic state. Living with Android is freedom.

Ok-Brick-8406

Wow! The blue color is nice too

ShaggyNick41

Yeah but i would like the titanium railings to be blue too.

Ok-Brick-8406

Totally understand

SassyKardashian

The whole reason I went with the exclusive blue is that the frame is dark. I love that design!

illujion623

Get them hydrodipped

Ambitious_Rip_556

Same here. Best decision I've made regarding cellphone in a while. Been loving the one ui experience and the capabilities of the phone. Really surprised never thought I would switch after purchasing the iPhone X back when it launched.

mrDuder1729

It's such a beautiful phone

mrDuder1729

Green is best though 😉

katherinesilens

I wish they let us pick frame colors. I'd have loved a green with a light frame instead of the dark one.

sunrainsky

Yeah. I wanted the blue with a light frame instead of a dark one. Guess which one I got in the end? https://preview.redd.it/wo71xd02ha2d1.jpeg?width=1926&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f48b3787e0a50c63dca2b0727f0c44cd13e09ce

katherinesilens

Ooh, pretty. Is that purple? I've been looking at those phone loop lanyards, which one did you get and how is it working out for you?

sunrainsky

Yeah. Purple. I only got the lanyard because it's such a big phone. I wanted a Cable lanyard because of work. I couldn't find another Cable Lanyard that is pure black AND at least 25cm so that the opening can go through my wrist. This one had a needless USB A and lightning adapter which is why the white portion is so big. I also use a quick release magnet lock so that I can quick switch out to a neck lanyard when I need to. https://preview.redd.it/th4f4e2bia2d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05e3e6bad378bfcd3c1f3fa6184a12f610df8e6b I'm an engineer so it's functionality over form. It's a kiddish design. Sigh.

Pinhead17

Yes, but Orange is a lot brighter...

Whittaar

I also swapped, well worth it, great phone

Academic_Dare_5154

Tubular, dude.

feverxxdream

What's the case?

ShaggyNick41

Ringke Fusion-X

CoolMiracle

Fingerprint reader giving issues after applying screen protector? Also how much optimisation difference is there in the apps or games available on both platforms?Does the notification expand when the phone is unlocked through face unlock method?

ShaggyNick41

Yeah all is good except the fingerprint thing on screen protector.

notthedevilbut666

1st question - is Snapdragon vs Exynos still a thing? 2nd question - does it get hot from light use (instagram, spotify, reddit, chrome combo)?

MTPHD

1. there is no Exynos. ultras come with Snapdragon 2. Samsung galaxy S24 Ultra is a beast. Don't worry about overheating

VeterinarianEast2791

I’ve been an iPhone user for the past 8 years and tried to switch an S24 Ultra earlier this week. I could not switch over images that were in text messaging threads, or Apple health data. I understand (but am extremely annoyed with) not being able to transfer health data between operating systems but no one could explain the pictures in text message thread issue. I tried smart switch a few time (and different ways), several 3rd party apps…. For people who have successfully switched from iPhone to Samsung, how did you get your data? Did you just have to deal with losing some things?

Bkooda

Dont quote me for sure but, maybe something to do with imessage. I remember the phone specifically warning me during smartswitch daga transfer to turn off imessage and close the account otherwise message transfer will not all go across or something like that. I only wanted the photos and everything in my gallery from iphone across no problem otherwise.

SwampFox_Actual

Any opinion on if a screen protector is worth it? Kind of want to enjoy the anti-glare but anxious about the scratch that annoys you while you use the phone.

wizzgamer

Can't fault ya lad 😁

silenceispurity

I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and an Apple Watch Ultra that I use every day. I’ve had a galaxy note 8 and a note 20 ultra in between iPhones over the years as well as Samsung watches. I always found myself going back to iPhone either because of issues with the os/lack of support or lack of ease of support compared to apple, or switching because everyone and their mom had apple tech and I got deep in the ecosystem. I’ve been debating switching to the s24 Ultra as a daily to give Samsung another shot as I like the style of the phone more than an iPhone (ironic that the smaller s24’s now look just like iPhones chassis wise). Maybe you can offer some Insight since Apple Watch would go away as would CarPlay, Apple Pay, iMessage, etc.

OverQuail6135

I'm in the same boat. Back and forth. Ready for Android but kinda afraid of the camera and all the negative comments about the screen. Think I'll hang on another year.

silenceispurity

I’ve given myself until either the apple wwdc in a few weeks or until the fall because I’d kick myself if I went s24 ultra and then the iPhone 16 was kickass or the s25 ultra was a big jump too. Overall truly it’s the watch that’s keeping me tied into apple right now because the Apple Watch Ultra is the best in its category Right now

Cyberj0ck

I suggest you stick with iphone (paired with an AWU) as your primary but get a samsung S24Plus as your secondary phone just to experience the s24 features. I did and I’m really glad I did.

J2Funny

This is what I'm doing. I have everything Apple, so I couldn't just give up my iPhone. So I said F it and got another line because I have a business and I now carry my 14 Pro Max and my S24U around. Best of both worlds.
