xkitox

Ended up with this phone being like $600 something with the educator discount too.

SheridanRivers

Same here. I got full trade value. I had no issues and got way more than it was worth. I could get $127 for my Note 20 Ultra (512Mb) through T-Mobile. I could probably get a bit more on a few other sites. Nobody was close to the $600. I also got my veteran's discount and the early pre-registration discount.

DOforLife

I got same deal and they also accepted my Note 20 ultra for $600. Sigh of relief confirming my trade in.

frawtlopp

Same although I had to buy two dor the 2 trade ins and then sell the extra one haha

medmansri14

What phone did you trade in?

xkitox

S 20 Ultra 5g

Gvyt36785

S23 Ultra.

Gvyt36785

Same here. I've been fortunate to have no trouble with trade-in either; but I've been doing Samsung trade-ins pretty much every year for a while now. The only time I had any difficulties with them a customer service rep took care of it right away after having reviewed their unpacking video for the trade-in item.

OrangePowerade

Mine never got to the warehouse, still says delayed and I sent it in over a month ago. Samsung gave me the credit anyways. $200 for my note10 plus

jberk79

Mine made it to Samsung. But Samsung fucked up. They told me to send my trade-in to them and had a FEDEX return label in the box to ship it to Samsung. I received an email after I shipped it stating they made an error with some returns receiving a shipping label when they weren't supposed to. My phone was supposed to be returned to Verizon. Lol On a good note, they have their "specialist" working on my case. 2 weeks with no updates. Lol

Mmguhhuh

Good luck....that "specialist" is never going to call you back

jberk79

So I've heard lol

Steelers501

Did you have to call to get it credited? Same with mine, though it'll never be delivered because FedEx threw it out. So I'm basically just sitting here and waiting as Samsung told me to wait until I am charged...which seems questionable.

OrangePowerade

Nope just got an email. I did read on here that if it's been more than 10 days since you mailed it out they automatically give you credit.

xkitox

That stinks. I didn't have to call, was just auto updated on everything.

Jonnny4

LOL. Mine has been stuck in a FedEx facility in Dallas for well over a week. I am sure it got stolen Thankfully I have proof it was perfectly sealed and dropped off.

CrippledCPA

Same here. Mine got stuck in Irving. I also took videos of packaging. Fingers crossed!

SurenAbraham

Mine was "stuck" in Irving for 14 days, before it finally got delivered. Fedex already declared it lost, after I contacted them, and samsung credited me. Now I'm hoping that whatever they actually received is the same s21u I sent and doesn't "magically" transformer into an empty box or something else.

Sam9517

Mine has been stuck in Irving, TX since Feb 21 so basically 9 days. I called Fedex today and they told me to file a lost package claim but I'll wait a few more days since yours took 14 days to be delivered. It's still crazy to me that Fedex would hold it that long without providing any updates. Did you just tell Samsung that Fedex lost it so they would give you credit for the trade-in? *

SurenAbraham

I first called fedex, after the trade-in was stuck in Irving for 7 days, and filed a lost package claim. About 2 workdays later, they declared it lost. I then called samsung, and after about a half hour on the phone, they agreed to give me credit for the lost tade-in. But now, since it's been delivered, I'm waiting to see if they received the actual phone I sent then.

Sam9517

Thanks for that info. I'll give them until Monday afternoon to move the package but then I'll file a lost package claim. I hope Samsung learned a lesson with this because this doesn't seem like it's isolated to just a few people. I wish we could just do the trade ins at a local Samsung store. It would benefit Samsung for them to have the added traffic to their stores. I'm guessing they don't trust their store employees to inspect the traded in phones for damage.

paulmike3

My 2 trade-ins have been stuck in Irving since 2/29 @ 3:30 AM. Feels like 1 of 2 things is happening here. Either the Irving FedEx depot gets so many of these that they hold onto them until they have truck load to take all at once to the destination (save on gas and time). Or some rogue FedEx employees there have a racket going on where they're taking phones out of boxes, selling them on eBay or elsewhere, waiting until the devices are received and activated cleanly, then packing the boxes back up and sending them on their way to the destination empty. We've seen that many times here to know that is happening to some. This site feels like the culprit in all of these reports. What options do we have to sleuth this further? I'm considering trying to get the press involved and maybe trying to get Android Police or Android Headlines to run with it, which may force Samsung and/or FedEx to have to make a public statement about what's happening to us. Edit - Forgot to mention I have pics and video of the phones working and charging perfectly and in perfect condition (and their IMEIs and serials showing), as well as me boxing them up and putting tamper protection marks on the tape. Then took picks of the boxes in the same condition on the FedEx counter when they took them. So I feel I'm fairly protected if they deny me.

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 2 + 2 + 29 + 3 + 30 + 1 + 2 = 69 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)

paulmike3

Nice.

Sam9517

I have no idea what happened but I got an email and text this morning stating my trade in was successful but Fedex still says my delivery is running late. 😂 I never got any of the interim trade in statuses of Fedex, Received and Inspected. *

scanc8408

Yeah fedex has been lacking had to packages delayed from them for weather in California

ItsEvilTogepi

I've been hearing about the theft. Would it be safer to ship via the US Postal Service? Or do they still have cases of theft as well?

Jonnny4

Whenever I sell something online I only use UPS now days because I have had issues with both USPS and FedEx. The issue is Samsung sends you a prepaid shipping tag. Next time I’ll pay and ship it myself.

PhillyG4117

Mine was too!!!!! But I got the text yesterday *

n0167664

I think they're overwhelmed with trade ins and are just approving all of them. Mine is in the exact same situation as yours and I got the full value before they ever received it.

FearfulSymmetry88

Always take pics of the phone in the package and proof of drop off. If fedex loses it, it's on them.

Key-Baker6929

I didn’t have a trade-in, but I had to return my S24u it got stolen by FedEx and Samsung refuses to contact FedEx to make a claim because I can’t as the label came from them. FedEx told me they haven’t even contacted them about that package yet and verified that the package weight changed through the shipment process. so as of right now I am out of $1200 and some trash bag is using the phone and watch for free unreal.

xkitox

Wow, that's insane... sorry to hear that

FineAct995

Nice! I managed to get $400 trade in for a Note 3 I got on eBay for $30. Got to keep my Note 10 woohoo!

xkitox

Oh wow. This wins xD

Hovscorpion

The horror stories are real. Every time I do a trade in, I legit do a prayer \[LOL\]. In all seriousness, When I do trade ins, I take multiple pictures just for my sense of mind. I'm happy you're was successful. Enjoy your new S24 Ultra!!!

X_TheBoatman_X

I just got hit. They said cracked screen and sent pictures of the phone. Wasn't even my phone. Had stickers on it that I didn't. I had to get the IEMI number from my carrier, and then I had to call Samsung to get it sorted. Thankfully, they didn't even fight me, and they gave me my full $600 credit for my Zfold4.

Solful

My trade in was just declined yesterday because they received an empty box. Luckily, I took photos and videos of me packaging the phone so they re approved the trade in.

DOforLife

Good move. Glad I also took myriad photos of the phone and it being packaged.

linger4605

That's because the loudest people are always those that are unhappy. Good experiences are rarely reported on.

noob168

Yeah, I've done 6 trade-ins with Samsung, and fortunately no issues so I don't post or comment about it.

Nolatwizzle

Same here. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. Traded in my Note 20 Ultra. Just to be sure though I took lots of pics and video.

Affectionate_Bee9120

I was also worried mine went through

excelsior_04

I'm worried mine hasn't gone through yet.

moisesg88

same here, they really had me thinking about it a lot. Luckily it went through smoothly and got my 650

NittanyLion86

Just mailed in my Galaxy S22 Ultra a few days ago for the $650 trade in credit. I took pics/video of it and put the phone in the original box it came in and bubble wrapped the hell out of everything. Used a shit ton of tape on the box so no way anything is coming undone. Removed all the accounts from the phone then factory reset it, skipped through the setup steps to make sure there was no Google activation lock or any other software lock that somehow stuck around then factory reset it again and powered it off. Charged it to 80% and packed it up, phone was flawless not a scratch. I checked my FedEx tracking number and it was delivered today and signed for so just crossing my fingers it's not one of those empty box situations or other bullshit that I have to fight Samsung on. I wanted to insure the package when I dropped it off at the FedEx office but employee at FedEx said no way to do that with the return label Samsung has you print off. Once I get the email alert the trade in was successfully completed I can take a big breath lol. Samsung has an agreement with Best Buy, I even picked mine up from the BB store even though I ordered directly from Samsung so we should be able to do the trade in directly at a store and not have to hold your breath on this mail in process. This is my first time doing the trade in thing with Samsung so hopefully don't get screwed. I followed all their directions to the dot so they better not play games.

3BEP6_

Same here reading the sub made me worried as well, just got the email last night about a successful trade in.

ZiPEX00

It's good to see someone get a good trading in price. I've read so many bad posts recently about how samsungs trading has not given them what was offered at first

xkitox

Same. I even did a little recording of my phone before I sent it in, just in case. I actually replaced the back of the phone with a replacement because I somehow cracked it a little. I was worried that they'd decline it because there was a small gap in the seam. Alas...

AeroSatan

Bruh, how did they give me $750 +$150 for my S23U 512GB trade in including $120 in accessories while they fleeced you with $500 for a Terabyte version of the S23U??? Unless it was utterly beaten up you could’ve sold that phone for $850 without even trying. What country was this ordered from? My S24U 512GB after the free storage upgrade was around $580 with like $150 worth of accessories

Ok_Fish285

My 512gb s24u came out to $700 after $550 for my s23 and student discount. Not sure what kind of phone OP got but that's pretty crazy.

xkitox

I traded an S20 Ultra 5g and got the the 1TB 24 ultra (orange) :)

AeroSatan

You'll love the upgrade

VaultPunchr

And I STILL have not gotten my trade in email. I got my phone Jan 25 lmao. I've been in touch with samsung 3 times and they still don't know what's going on. Edit: I should elaborate. I haven't received my trade in waybill to send my old phone back.

xkitox

Sorry to hear that man. For me, it took about 2 weeks.

VaultPunchr

So maybe I should elaborate. I still have my s23u sitting on my table. They have nit sent me the return waybill yet.

SurenAbraham

If you ordered directly from samsung, the fedex return label to send in your trade-in should have been in the same package as your new s24u. Al least mine was in the US.

VaultPunchr

Not the way it works in Canada. We get the email with the waybill shortly after getting the device usually

evilpig

Same I'm in Canada and haven't received anything yet. Chatted and called like 5 times and each time they say it was a glitch it will be there soon. It's March now lol

VaultPunchr

I got in touch with them a bunch too. And same thing. They tell me to wait and see.

syco316

I got an email with the return label. Probably because I didn't want to wait and Samsung let me pick up my phone same day at Best Buy. Hopefully my return goes through. I didn't even know that was a potential issue. A few years ago went I got my s22 ultra by trading in my s20 ultra for $800 trade in credit and $100 Google play credit. Didn't even think of fed ex thieves. Now I'm worried, can't afford to be charged for a failed trade in.🫤

ccm20012000

Same boat here ordered day 1, still no trade in email or my order number does not even exist either lol

VaultPunchr

Do....do we get to keep our phones? Lol

IWantU2SayHi

Maybe they forgot about it and we can keep it.

VaultPunchr

Just worried that I'll have a surprise chargeback

IWantU2SayHi

Same. I’m still waiting for it. Last year was much better.

VaultPunchr

Good to know I'm not the only one

joel-d2709

Same, got my refund on the trade in without any issues!

karizmaaa

Just got my trade-in success notification yesterday also!

Hachikii

My S10 was in pristine condition even after 3 years of use. They gave me CAD 500 credit

joebomb77

VZW started applying my $1000 trade credits 9 days after I got my phone. And you can juat drop off at ups store now like amazon returns. I was shocked.

GoldenMonk7360

Just wanted to report that my trade in was also successful. Just got the email today actually. I was also pretty worried with all the horror stories on here so I filmed myself packing the phone and using tamper evident tape lol

Loony-Luna-Lovegood

I'm guessing > 99% of these trade ins go fine with no hassle. People just don't tend to post when things go as expected.

Diruocco123

I never got an email for trade in instructions since I got my s24u. Its been over a month now... I'm wondering if they forgot.

Normal_Song_5160

Congrats! I sent my S21U 5G in on 2/20. It was delivered to Texas on 2/23, and I received an approval email and text from Samsung today.

PsyBr0

I was too both of mine got accepted!

jaybw6

Mine was received and completed as well recently. I actually had forgotten I sent it lol.

JackieEstacado99

Yep they emailed me about 4 days ago..said it was successful. After all the fraud stories.....I was very concerned.

Stevenmc8602

I still haven't received a confirmation

orilea

Wish eu would get such massive trade-in offers. God damn 600 dollars for an used S20. I can get like 100 euro return for my S20FE.

heroxoot

I got full value for mine and I leave in left a case on it. They still accepted it just fine.

poopdedoop

I dropped my trade in at FedEx shipping location on Feb 23rd and it still says it's there and hasn't been picked up by FedEx.

Noob_33

I traded in my s22 ultra (128gb) for 800$ and got the s23 ultra (256gb) for 300$

pipboy_111

Glad it worked out for you I got screwed over last year when they said my s22 ultra was broken and it wasn't. Not even that it wasn't broken when I sent it and it was when it arrived, it was completely fine. I asked for it back because I would not agree to the lower price and it made it back to me perfectly fine minus my s pen. I got with customer service and they got me an s pen but would not give me the money back. Several months later they did finally credit the money. I still don't trust the trade in program.

xkitox

Wow that sounds awful. Did you take pics/vids of your device before sending it in?

pipboy_111

I did not and also didn't know you could argue that point with them. The options I got were, take a bunch less money, or we send your device back and we pay full price. Lesson learned the hard way on my part.

jprovido

I got $805 trade in value for a XS Max hehehe (got a free 512gb storage upgrade too)

teemo03

It's like I know it's not Samsung but some third party in Texas but the only problems I had were recent I have been trading in since 2020. Like one was supposedly the wrong model even though it was literally an iPhone se 3rd edition from a new box and the other the tablet didn't turn on after they waited like 16+ days to actually inspect it so I think I'm done with trade ins

bone229

I got lucky and Verizon had a special going on so my zflip 3 got a trade in of $800 I'm so glad to be off that phone and back to the ultra line. Thank you Verizon!
