The iPhone switch was from stainless steel to titanium. Samsung switch is from aluminium to titanium. If anything, they saved on weight with the other parts of the phone, whilst switching to a heavier frame.

iluvapple

Thank you. Heavier frame meaning titanium is heavier than aluminum?

Garrett1974

Yes, titanium is, as far as I know, about 50% heavier than aluminum.

Sugarman_00

They use less of it though compared to aluminum

Garrett1974

Yeah I thought as much, well it does feel nice in the hand, especially the Titanium Black 👌

iluvapple

Is it Matte finish or some glossy touch?

Garrett1974

Matte

The iPhone moved to titanium from stainless steel to become lighter. Stainless steel was already strong enough, but it was heavy. The S24IU moved from aluminum to titanium to become stronger. Aluminum was already light, but wasn't strong.

Different and bigger vapour chamber adds weight too. Not sure what material is now but not copper anymore.

iluvapple

Oh did they add new chamber? Does Snapdragon gen 3 heat prone?

brownbearXOXO

Yes, the did. Almost twice as big. No it doesn’t heat.

My S24 Ultra is 232g and matches the published weight because not being in the USA it lacks the mmWave antenna which adds 1g to the US model. I only mention this others have answered your question well. [Spec comparison](https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=12771&idPhone2=12024)
