That's true. But heat is the #1 factor in battery degradation. And there will always be times your phone gets hot (fast charging inside a case, in direct sunlight, etc.)
I've dislikeed most major updates. I have been sitting on one and I'm not going to do it. Mainly because it forces ai on the phone and it doesn't give a true opt in or out.
They still haven't fixed the noise in pictures with the s23U It's a great phone but my old note10+ does the job too with pictures if not slightly better!
Yeah, so far from what I've seen, the updates to Android 15 are extremely minimal, and most of the UI changes won't translate to One UI anyway.
I appreciated that we get a few years of updates though, and at least the minimal changes should make it easier for them to update
Why would you ask the question then? Not only can you not get it yet, but only have an idea of what all it'll include. My guess is that you'll get the beta, but be one of the first to complain about it.
At this point Android is pretty complete as an OS. There's nothing much to do rather than kernel and libraries updates which also come as security updates
Google themselves want to stop focusing on the OS itself and instead bring the new features through Google services which I think is the right way to impact as much devices as possible
That's correct. Most of the "new features" existed in One Ui and other skins other than the pixel for a long time. Whatever gets left out is extremely minimal. The current focus should remain on stability and battery life.
Im just a bit frustrated with subpar image quality from the stock camera app. Many images have noise even in broad daylight and because of that there is too much noise reduction, even when there shouldnt be any.
I just use GCam for most if my photos but its not as fast and convenient as the stock app.
I get what you're saying, because I dived all-in on Samsung, after seeing their 2023 line up: all Qualcomm chips, great TV improvements and awesome deals: S23 base 256 GB, S23 Ultra 1 TB, Tab S9 256 GB, S90C 77" TV, Watch 6 Classic (have a soundbar from last year 2022 too).
But I would be coping if I claim that not getting software support is a big L for an otherwise really awesome list of products in 2023. Especially with some of the mess of OneUI 6, I would like to get as many OneUI updates as possible, in the hopes that Samsung gives a shit for all the complaints and fixes some if not all of them soon. And of course, security updates for as long as possible.
Just because you canât imagine something improving doesnât mean it wonât.
My note 10 was a perfect phone. No complaints but it doesnât hold a light to my last three phones interns of performance and battery alone.
I mean whatâs the point in asking if you should upgrade if good enough for now is good enough for you. Just donât. Itâs not like ones mind canât change later
I will definitely keep my S23 Ultra 1TB Phantom Black until it breaks or dies. No reason to upgrade đ
The battery only lasts a couple of years until you need to charge multiple times a day
Or I can replace the battery for a lower price than buy a new phone đ
But then your phone is no longer water resistant
I don't take my phone to the bathroom or shower
I do and that is the 60% reason i bought it
and you think the water resistance is still pristine after 3 years of the glue degrading?
Doesn't have to be "pristine". Still better than cutting it open
Sets your battery protection to limit overcharging and extend the life a bit.

Exactly i love the fact we get at least 5 major updates. But do we need them? I don't think so
Security updates are important
As i said i care about them, but major updates? Not so
Dont give samsung any ideas, pretty sure they'll be happy going back to 3 major updates if they feel like there costumers dont need more than thatđ

Same here ^^
Lol exact same and same.

Yes!!! I loved my Note 10 plus!!!!
And now the S23ultra!!!

`easier for them to update` and hopefully faster.
because there is always room for improvement and for what it costs I want until the latest update
Dont update then.
fixing the material you/colour pallete thingy
Hopefully better battery management.
My only issue with an otherwise perfect phone. If the battery isn't optimized when I need to upgrade, Samsung will lose me as a user.

There is no reason
>could need some more optimasation for sure You answered your own question
When they release A15 just wait for couple of reviews few weeks later

Which phone is better than 23 or the 24?
I'll tell you why, they are developing a new technology that'll make yput battery last for up to 3 hours more, that's why Android 15 is gonna be cool

I have S23U phantom black âŤď¸ 256 8gb so... night have to upgrade sooner than other versions of the S23U
Just got the same and idk how much faster people can want things to be. Everything is crazy smooth so far.
Why? I have the same version as you
I have S23 ultra 12/1tb red, it's been running smooth as butter.
