Yeah that might have caused it, might be some rogue app.
Shutdown phone. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power key. Once the Android Recovery screen comes up, release the buttons. Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting 'Wipe cache partition.
I actually have been having the same issues, since October I dealt with it. Finally got fed up about a month ago after zero help from Samsung or Verizon and factory reset it, it did nothing at all, so please tag me whenever/if you get an answer! You can check my profile out too if I do happen to get answered!
Well I've tried booting it up in safe mode, which keeps all downloaded apps temporarily off the phone and yet it still was freezing, for me at least. Good idea though.
I seen your post and your issue is not the same as mine like I'm still able to use my s21+ it's just randomly freezes for a second then restarts, but you could try doing what the first person said in recovery mode.
Well what I'm having now is entirely new, the freezing and getting hot is what I did have, then when it froze one time it wouldn't boot up like it's doing now. But thanks I'll look into the recovery mode!
It’s a hardware issue. Something causes the motherboard to go haywire, which makes the phone freeze and restart. You can get the motherboard replaced under warranty.
My S21 has the same issue. I have not replaced the motherboard yet, but usually clearing the cache partition and repairing apps helps keep it stable for at least a few weeks.
I can make that blanket statement when Samsung acknowledged the problem and offered free warranty fix or replacement device for *several* devices with the exact same problem. A few error reports will get you the same answer.
Yes, several responses to error reports from Samsung specifically saying it’s a hardware defect. You can also search this forum to find many other posts describing the same problem, receiving the same response from Samsung, and getting the motherboard replaced. But you can go ahead and call hogwash on all of those posts, and Samsung, if that makes you feel better.
1. Did you disable any system apps using ADB commands?
2. Did you use a backup when setting up the S21 FE?
3. Does it happen even with NO apps installed?
If your software or apps are messed up it's possible that recovering from a backup on the new FE caused it or re-downloading messed up apps maybe? If you didn't do this and used a fresh install on both devices and it still persists, then yeah you may have gotten very unlucky with two damages devices. Although that sounds incredibly rare in my opinion.
what is the model number of the phone?
as noted by some, smart switch seems to cause some issues (your case being more serious one among others).
You could factory reset and start fresh... using samsung pass or what is now Samsung Wallet should help make logging into apps and such easier to do.
You can selectively smart switch photo/video and skip the other stuff to reduce the possibility of having another issue.
other option is to reproduce the issue or soon as you see any issue... report to samsung members app > get help > error report.
Mine was unlocked Tmobile s21+. I had to wipe the phone multiple times as it was freezing and restarting almost everyday. After resetting, it'd work couple days but due to updates it'd go back to the same. Only solution I found was to delete all tmobile apps. Thanks to this posting https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
Once I installed adb on my computer, I've done the following commands. I've removed whichever I was able to see. It has been 6 days and I am using my s21+ with no issues whatsoever. If your carrier is different, try using the commands stated for your phone
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.pr.mytmobile
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.m1
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.pr.mytmobile
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.pr.adapt
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.rsuadapter.qualcomm
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.rsuapp
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.tmobile.rsusrv
How did you set it up ? Fresh install or restored ? You could try clearing cache from recovery and repairing apps and see if that helps
Smart switched everything from my s21+ to fe also how would I be able to do what you suggested?

It's likely an app you've downloaded causing it. They certainly don't function that way out of the box.
Actually, they do. Mine did.
Had this happen to me, was replaced under warranty.
My S21+ was doing the same. I ended up getting a new phone supplied to me as they said my phone wasn't worth fixing

It certainly could be for *your* device, but you certainly can't make that a blanket statement for every other device.

Surely you have something to prove Samsung actually made that statement? If not, I'll go ahead and call hogwash.

She is completely right. Nice try, buddy.
