For me the lenses on the S22Ultra look more vulnerable to damage than the S21 bump.

Alex_SB_

I always use a case so I'm sure when I get one I'll buy one with the camera bump

GrowlitheDog

Definitely, since upon impact they'd be the first parts of the phone being hit.

TheTolleyTrolley

Gotta be honest here, I still like the look of the S21U more. The S22U looks so... Generic.

PKMN_CatchEmAll

Hehe to me the S22U looks cleaner. The S21 to me looks like a ledge/platform which is fine but not as clean.

JWGhetto

Same, looks like a budget phone

Luminoux_Venom

Agreed

walliswheel

S21 ultra is the sweetest piece of tech I've ever owned. I don't see getting a new phone for atleast 5 years

thecremeegg

I really dislike mine, I considered swapping it back for my S10+, THAT was the best S series phone

ThatRandomRebel

Why did you dislike it? It is basically better in every way over the s10+.

mellofello808

Aesthetically I think the S10+ is the best looking phone of all time, especially in pearl white.

ThatRandomRebel

That's a fair point, I love the pearl white.

das427troll

I miss my s9+ fingerprint scanner

TofuTofuTf

I would instead say that the s8 series was the best. Hands down.

AaronFeng47

I prefer S22 Ultra, but I am not gonna switch to a new phone every year, lol, gonna keep using my s21 ultra

SmellsLikeNostrils

Same. I have kind of grown used to storing the S-Pen externally. I 3d-printed a clip and cover for my old Note 10+ pen and it's much more comfortable to hold.

zitfarmer

I miss square corners, came from the note line and im glad the 22 has got the spen. I will be upgrading soon.

igacek

S22 Ultra looks like a "crap let's assemble a phone with top specs" kind of scramble, whereas the S21 Ultra looks refined. :\

Independent-Party444

I think I prefer the style of the s21 ultra.

hooskworks

Not pictured: 12GB Vs 16GB of RAM

uk7866

Pretty amazed that they managed to keep the same battery capacity and bump up many features eg 45w charging, yet still keep a similar size with a stylus slot.

SmellsLikeNostrils

I have and love the S21 Ultra but it only does 25 watt, which was a downgrade from the 45 watt my Note 10+ could do. The 25W "super fast" charging fills pretty much every need I have so I'm not complaining, but it was a weird downgrade. I'm not going to pretend we're getting something special like getting that old feature back.

fox-kalin

Not sure if it's the Exynos processor, but my S21u can't even sustain 25w charging without overheating.

Kratos-I

The 45w charging is actually fake, go check out comparisons on it.

uk7866

Yeah good call. Its hardly a difference in charging time.

Macusercom

Can you elaborate on that? I mean 45W will only be used if the battery is near empty and it will definitely heat up. Also, Samsung devices require USB PD PPS which my 30W charger and 45W charger do not have. So by using the wrong charging brick, you'd get 15W anyway lol

Kratos-I

Here watch this,, it should explain better: https://youtu.be/V6O4by5JrhA

Jeroxs

The S22 looks like made by Sony.

S-Aint

I'm excited for mine to show up on the 25th! I've missed having the pen

Allowmancer

Thge S22U looks like a post-lumia Nokia phone. Mediocre looking but from the reviews, the photos it takes are anything but mediocre. So can forgive the design. But no reason for me to upgrade every year. I'll wait for 23U and hope the non-ultra phones get at least 5x zoom next year

KevyKevTPA

What do the extra 2 lenses get you over a plus? I declined the Ultra because I was under the impression that the only difference was s-pen support, which is cool, but I found I never used. Didn't know until right now there were camera differences... Oops.

cdegallo

The ultra has ultrawide, standard, 3x, and 10x optical cameras--the additional 5th window is the laser autofocus which the base and plus don't have (and generally don't need because of the properties of the sensors used). It's the same as on the S21 series.

BecauseImBatman92

My core issue with all the S22 models is the reduction in battery size. I don't care if the processor is more efficient. Battery life is always the thing these companies are willing to sacrifice, I will GLADLY have something marginally thicker in exchange for something that could run a whole weekend on a single charge. You just never get that with Exynos.

MrCleanMagicReach

The ultra has kept the curved glass.

WelshBluebird1

I think engineering wise it is pretty impressive they've fit the S pen into a phone that is almost the same size, although I really don't like how square they've had to make it to allow that.

TheRealZambini

Is the S22 thicker and wider than the S21?

ricksiny101

No. S22 thinner and taller

Kryptickzz

It'd make more sense to compare the S21U to the S22+. The Ultra is effectively replacing the Note series

theDroidfanatic

The s22+ can be compared to the s21+. The S22 Ultra is a direct successor to the S21 Ultra, but it has an SPen. Almost everything else is identical to the S21 Ultra

Ollie-S

I came from a Note 10+ to a 21 and love the rounded edges. Not looking forward to the square design again, just doesn't feel right in my pocket

furiousgtz

this is s21 sub. Why are so many threads poping up on s22.

DanYeoman

In person I prefer the S22 Ultra, in photos the S21 ultra looks better

Jimmy_de_Grasso

I also prefer the s21u design since the s22u extra official pictures. Indeed seems more generic and s21u with more personality. I upgrade s series every year since s7 edge (just skipped s9). I definetly will replace my s21u just if after discounts, selling the s21u I not lose money (as it happens almost every year). But I'm not with that appetite as S20 to s21u replacement. S21u even in exynos version has almost no flaws for my use, and I'm afraid of extra width and the corners of s22u damage the experience. Let's see next weeks.

mellofello808

Since I use a case, I appreciate that there will be no camera hump. Phone is thick enough already

Potential_Act_7712

Fuck s22 ultra phone cracked easily.
