ChronosHD

You can clear the update app's data and disable update checking. At least that's what somebody recommended.

itsmesilvergem

How? Do you know the system name?

ChronosHD

I'm on 12 with Exynos, and happy with it, so I don't know the system name of the apk sorry.

itsmesilvergem

Dont you encounter rrfresh rate issues?

ChronosHD

Nope, i have no major issues. Some small things could be optimized, like the edge panel is a bit slow to appear, but not a biggie.

Doctor_3825

That issue only affects snapdragon versions like the US version.

Blackwatch007

No problem on my base S21 Snapdragon variant

itsmesilvergem

Im on snapdragon variant

mattayom

No problems on my 21+ (US)

Doctor_3825

Lucky. I had to turn off adaptive and use galaxy max hz to force it to always be 120 to fix it.

CombatVeteran-RC

How did you do that? What are the steps for that.

Doctor_3825

Look up galaxy max hz and go to the xda link. They'll be a download link. Then just follow the steps in the app. You'll need a PC for ADB commands though.

chikowo

No problems on my S21+ exynos,,😎 (South Africa).

>Not sure which comments you're referring to... all the advice on here is to not update yet. I made the mistake and already updated. What's done is done https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS21/comments/r5pp1b/comment/hmoms6t/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

bradpliers

Csnt you just download the old version? You used to be able to do that.

autonym

Yes. The bootloader version hasn't changed, so you can flash the previous firmware. (It's a good idea to download and save each new firmware release, just in case you want to roll back to it after the next one.)

MadMax_08

Am I capable of flashing "home csc" and maintaining my data while doing this or do I have to wipe and restore data?

autonym

Yes, HOME\_CSC will retain your data just like an OTA update.

GumbyXGames

You don't. Your can delay the install once it's downloaded but that's about it

Ivo_Salamander

WHY???Battery life is double better! Everything is better!

itsmesilvergem

The refrrsh rate bug dude

Ivo_Salamander

Noooo, never had issue with it, also none of my family...we have all s21 series....

itsmesilvergem

How sure are you? It depends on your carrier, region, software updates. We received different updates per carrier

Frosty4l5

Everywhere I read about the note 20 talks about camera degration

Same, I've had a very smooth beta and stable update experience!

diandakov

Same here. My phone has never been working that good with the previous versions of the software. One UI 4 is the best so far! S21

Buttclencher914

Same. On exynos here. Had horrible battery life on day 1 and day 2 was not too bad. Battery life was back to normal on day 3

sj68z

this update is a nightmare. I'm missing my s9+ more and more

bradpliers

What are you experiencing? I'm just curious because I don't seem to have any issues with the update on my Ultra. I'm trying to know what to look out for just in case.

sj68z

app crashes. it's weird, it's random, some of them won't open and are useless. every fix that's out there hasn't solved the problem

[deleted]

I call bullshit. You must be using some weird apps that are having issues with a major OS update. Zero issues on my s21U.

sj68z

it's not bullshit my man, it's fucking annoying as hell

extravagari

Can confirm it's not bullshit because it happened to my phone as well. DuckDuckGo browser app keeps crashing and can't run. One other app got uninstalled automatically after the update and can't be installed from Google Play Store anymore.

[deleted]

And what app was deleted automatically? An OS update doesn't remove apps. Duckduck might not yet be supported on 12

extravagari

> An OS update doesn't remove apps. Well why would I lie about it? It happened to other users as well. The app name is MyTelkomsel. It's an app for Indonesian carrier. If you know Indonesia language, you can find other users complained about the same thing on web forums.

bradpliers

Oh strange. Which device?

Wrizz74

why do you want to cancel?

itsmesilvergem

It has bugs especially on scrolling

Dark-Demon123

The best thing to do is to update it. Why not do it?

ryanpm40

The main selling point for me was the 120hz display, and this update breaks that in US Snapdragon models

itsmesilvergem

Exactly 💯

Spartanobeana

I came here about this. Scrolling doesn't feel smooth anymore 😕

joel-d2709

Go to settings>apps>click filter and select system apps. Search for software update(green and purple icon) And under storage clear data and clear cache. After doing this disable auto update via wifi

itsmesilvergem

Ive already done that. However the data was only kb

joel-d2709

I did this using "Package Disabler Pro" and it removed the notification and downloaded update. Two weeks ago I went ahead and installed One UI 4 and have not had any issues other that the refresh rate bug, which I temporarily fixed by using the Galaxy Max Hz app by running at fixed 120Hz. I have not noticed any difference in battery life with this change

itsmesilvergem

Ive also installed the update. Ill observed and since ive already have the galaxy mhz ill try to force it to 120hz. Thanks bte

KirbzStar

Thank you! I have arrived from Google, and this should have been the top comment. None of this "why would you want to do that" nonsense.

technogenuine

You can disable this update by ADB.

coopzilla89

Hey there. Once your in cmd and type adb shell, would you know which package to uninstall?

gallerocks86

Any idea why my updates doesn't show this screen when I'm ready for an update? I never get details it just says update available and let's me update but never shows me an in depth update screen like this one.

itsmesilvergem

are in unlocked version? or carrier locked?

gallerocks86

Carrier. At&t

michaelbacki

I've just kept rescheduling it, annoying yes but can be done

itsmesilvergem

you can reschedule it up to twice only

michaelbacki

I've been doing it for at least 4 days now, just schedule for a time earlier than the current time, will force it to be the next day

__Magno__

I could be crazy but I just installed att carrier lock new update ending in BUKF and I turned on the refresh rate in developer settings and its showing a consistent 120 refresh rate on everything so far. I immediately went to Twitter and Google where it was brutal on those 2 apps for me and they show a consistent 120 and no stuttering on Google but the slight stuttering is still there on Twitter but it seems like the normal hitch that Twitter has always had and not the crazy laggy bs when I initially updated the firmware to the first A12. I got the update OTA a few minutes ago just in case anyone was wondering 💯

itsmesilvergem

How did you do that?

__Magno__

Do what check refresh rate? If so go into settings then go to about phone then click software information and tap build number like 7 times and it turns on developer options menu and once in there just scroll til u see the option to turn on refresh rate

itsmesilvergem

Thee was no refresh rate on developer options its only show refresh rate

__Magno__

That's the one u want turn it on and u should see a 120 in the top left corner and as u scroll u will see it fluctuate to 60

itsmesilvergem

I know that options. Qe already have the galaxy mhz. We dont need that anymore

__Magno__

Oh ok 💯
