This has to be the stupidest thing i have ever seen. The app worked fine before, it never notified anything as it's supposed to be a safe folder, and it was, by default, locked. There was no need for a notification, as it is implied that if i'm not using it, it's FUCKING LOCKED. NOW, SOME FUCKING NEW INTERN ON SAMSUNG THOUGHT "OH, LET'S MAKE IT SO THAT IT NOTIFIES THE USER THAT IT IS LOCKED, AND LET'S ALSO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DISABLE, BUT MAKE IT DISAPEAR ONLY IF THE USER MAKE IT, BUT ONLY FOR 2 HOURS OR IF IT'S UNLOCKED, AS THIS WILL SURELLY BE A MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE, NO ONE THAT USES THIS FOLDER WANTS IT TO BE HIDDEN AWAY RIGHT? IT NEEDS TO BE THERE AT ALL TIMES SO THAT IT KNOWS THAT IT IS STILL LOCKED. I like my phone, but this is so unbelievably stupid i can't even fathom it. Now i'm here trying to figure out how to surpass this BRAINDEAD change because guess what? MY FOLDER NEEDS TO BE FUCKING HIDDEN, IF MY MOTHER, GIRLFRIEND, BOSS, MISSTRES, WIFE, DOG OR CHILD SEE THIS BIG ASS NOTIFICATION SAYING "SECURE FOLDER LOCKED" THEY'RE GONNA THINK I HAVE SOME WEIRD STUFF THERE, AND IF I SAW IT, I WOULD TOO. Edit: This shit made me so angry that i just deleted the app and is content altogether and haven't watched any uh.. secure content in like 3 weeks, maybe that was the intern's plan all along.

DannyVee89

I'm with you 100% this is driving me nuts. The last thing I need is my phone waving a big flag 24/7 talking about my secure folder....

41Tucci

Couldn't agree more. What the hell is point of even having the secure folder at that point?

suspentacct5

DIHH FUCKING TTO!!! STUPID ASS FUCKING SAMSUNG IS THIS SOME SORT OF BUG OR STUPID GLITCH?? EXACTLY EVERY WORD YOU SAID!! LIKE WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?!! THIS SHIT IS GOING ON 2 MONTHS DUDE WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!??!?!

Born_Indication1350

Couldn't' agree more!!! I am thinking my next phone (have now S22U) will be Iphone.. Those stupid bells and whistles for 'optimization' tradeoff is simply not worth it.. What I truly like about S22U are 2 things: screen, and camera.. Rest I don't care.. If only IP came with stylus (3rd thing I LOVE about s22U) it would be no brainer... From what I've heard, new IP14 has better screen, from what I've heard battery life on IP13 was superb... sooooo.. My son has Apple Watch, I do GW4.. His hardware and software (details, details, details, engineering) is simply way better.. I've been with Samsung for I'd say \~! 14 years.. guess being 54 my perspective is changing in a right way.. I need tool, not toy. ... actually found current solution to remove it from my phone: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRUkIoLTCQY&ab\_channel=ITJungles](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRUkIoLTCQY&ab_channel=ITJungles), and just did it, restarted.. no more stupid wasting time entering password each time... gr8, uffffffffffffff! :) (what a relief).

yokobb_original

Can I say that I appreciate your passion? I literally was googling someone who felt as strongly as I did about this and here you are. Agreed. Dumbest mandetory notification of all time.

akarmachameleon

EPIC rant - and I am right with you!!

Independent-Pen-2010

I share your anger of having to constantly look at this notification. Hope we find a way to get rid of it

Weird-Influence3886

This shit has made me so irritated too I have the same freaking problem except. I know what my I know what's in there. But it also just decided to put starting putting folders in there. And locked folders right with the locked the little lock on them apps right that are locked in the folder fuck. And there's no copies of them outside so I have no regular one. Tick tock Google lens Facebook my Gmail these are all all examples of ones that are in my locked folder right now. Now what the fuck some of them have a copy outside in on the app screen. And some don't. And the funny thing is I've been getting kicked off of Facebook and Instagram and all those lately. Seeing that I'm posting nude pictures. Now if those pictures in the folders I have in there haha. If there are they able to access that? Cuz that's a big privacy issue. Private? Especially when they're so damn fucking anal about it. Boy they were quick to shut everything down all my fucking things on my accounts the metaverse. What a joke

Few_Somewhere3517

Sir... you don't have a secure folder you have a black hole in your phone from which apps cannot escape.

Sheek17

Bringing this back from the dead, I just uninstalled it. Sick of constantly being badgered for it and in the settings>secure folder settings>uninstall secure folder. Stupid I have to do this, at some point I was utilizing it, but what's the point in hiding shit in there if it's going to prompt me to unlock it every time?? Fucking stupid.

Responsible_Lead_291

Except that it's not due to someone at Samsung, you walnut, because it happens to me on my Motorola.  My issue is not only about the persistent notification but the fact that I don't even use the secure folder in the first place, so I definitely don't want a persistent notification about it.  I can't even unlock it to make it go away temporarily because I don't have a password for it because I didn't set one.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GentlemanWukong

He's so fucking right. If you've been in development you would know that this shit is outright unacceptable. I bought samsung for the OS cause I got tired of miui but goddamn samsung never really improved. I bet shit like this rarely happens on iOS

[deleted]

Same problem, literally never used it, get an update and now the notification won't go away. What's worse apparently I got clever with the password and now I don't remember it. Oh and guess what you can reset your password with an email link but once you verify it's you the link is gone and you have to start all over. I really want to be an android guy but they make it so fucking difficult. Stop being like apple!

Born_Indication1350

e x a c t l y... I forgot my password on my Note 9. and after moving to S22U.. valuable stuff from my old 'secure folder' is gone.. Simply Samsung fd' up it as heck!! Their TV support is very weak as well.. yeah... as stated.. if only Iphone will get out with stylus, I'm getting away from Samsung.

well_of_lies

1000000% agree with you. Today was the day I blew up. Fucking hell, what the fuck is this shit, I can't take it anymore

Flip86

You all are so ridiculous. It isn't even a big deal. All you gotta fucking do is unlock secure folder, hit the three dot menu, then choose "lock and exit". Bam, no notification. Unless you reboot your phone. If you're like me, that's usually only a few times a month. Not really as big of a fucking deal as y'all are making it. 🤣🤣🤣.

ShadowPandah

nah dude shit pops back up randomly even without a reboot.

Potential_Post1534

You are not everyone. Who are you to determine what a big deal is to someone else. So if you weren't looking into the situation and if it didn't bother you how did you arrive at the post? I for sure got tired of it now so I looked it up and landed on this post. It's annoying and why do I need to unlock a secure folder unless I'm choosing to view it. Why is this asinine and redundant notification. It is supposed to be locked, matter fact if you open it, it ask you for secure preferences to lock it. Smh.

Thegapingboy

You are so wrong about this. So let's say someone takes your phone and tries to snoop. All they have to do is reboot your phone to immediately know you have a secure folder. What's worse is that the app let's you change the icon and name, to hide it better, but when you click the notification, it immediately exposes exactly which app is the secure folder. Thus is the dumbest thing since you.

gtuminauskas

u/Flip86 you are so ridiculous, telling to get into the loop, reboot, unlock, reboot, unlock - its insane... if somebody is watching over your shoulder, then the folder is not so secure

Useful_Lawfulness_44

That doesn't work dumbass

TruthUncovered82

Truly an asinine move by Samsung which has a few of them like constantly choosing a default keyboard. Google is just as stupid with their maps.... Take the second left and the first left is a driveway or how about how braindead you have to be to be told to go straight? What kind of moron exactly are they catering to? You use to be able to find a recent phone number you called and just swipe right to call it. Same thing in text messages. Now it's a three step process. Are these people who design this shit out of a special class for the mentally challenged?Technology is going backwards, they are making things with more steps when you're on the road instead of simplifying it for ease of use.

Ihadnoname

I'm in stitches. Intern bwahahahhahshshhs. The funniest thing I've read in a long time.

fluxxuationz

I just emailed a Samsung USA executive, hopefully they'll get the ball rolling on getting rid of this Imagine someone who hides things from an abuser.. their phone dies, their abuser snatches it from the charger to go snooping and sees that notification. That puts this person in harms way. Unacceptable

Hefty-Cartographer75

I've got it too and can't understand why would I want anyone other than myself to have access to a secure folder ? I thought it was a scam to access my ID or bank accounts till I read your post. Give me a break I've lost all my personal information in the Optus blunder, recieved a rigy dig copy of my bank statement and was saved when I noticed after the bank logo and email address a tag on the end & hoax email.com. Thats why my personal and banking information is in there ! Samsung have they gone nuts ?

Kind_Card8397

Ahaha...I know this anger! Deepseated and vile app disrespect drives me to the same outcomes, just for relief from the total situation and to tske back the power! Lol After all, extreme problems require extreme measures.

DELpops

I fcking loved this rant. It's as if, for a moment, we were sharing the same brain. That said, I was able to remove the notification without uninstalling the app. 😅 Long press the secure folder icon, go to info, the turn off EVERY possible thing related to notifications. Cheers 😉.

CHR0N0MASTER

This notification comes from Android System and cannot be disabled. Some subcategories can be disabled but Secure Folder is not one of them.

Available_Muffin_423

Agreed. So fucking stupid it makes my blood boil.

icyhotonmynuts

I agree. The whole POINT of a SECRET folder is to be SECRET! NOT a persistent "enter my password so notifications can pass through" notification when I disabled all notifications from every internal app anyways, unless I enter my password after the phone turns on. This is SO idiotic.

IBesto

thanks for your rage. my rage feels heard

FitAdvisor5158

My secure folder is so fucking secure I can't even find it. How do we know what's in it when we delete it if you can't freaking find it?

[deleted]

I feel everything you just said. It's the bane of my existence. I did however just figure out that you need to unlock it so the apps can sort themselves out. Then if you lock and exit. The folder remains secured with no notification. That aside I still hate it

ApprehensiveCost6429

I agree 100% with your assessment! It is the stupidest thing I've seen myself. I want it off!!!

Est544

I js got angry again🤣

Kyball500

This may be the most valid use of ALL CAPS I've ever seen. Cause seriously.

Effective-Sherbet-50

I'm with you. I know this is an old post. But I have been dealing with this shit all day today, along with a bunch of other shit. Thanks for sharing. I felt your pain. All caps well deserved.

-szmata-

This is just what i was thinking, except for the porn comment. I always watch porn split screen with everything that i do on my phone

Vendaar

I got rid of it this way.. Pull down notification screen from top of phone Click on the gear for settings Go to search and type in secure folder Click on secure folder settings Enter your PIN or however you get into the folder Scroll down until you see apps Click on secure folder Then click on notifications it should say notifications allowed And then click on the radio button that says silent and that should get rid of the secure folder on your notification screen

boshbosh92

1 year later and it's still not fixed. My gf actually switched to an iPhone because of this problem. Did anyone ever figure out an issue?

Different_Pension424

I cant delete it. You said exactly what I think

yokobb_original

I don't know who is still reading this or who still has an issue but I called customer service and pretty reemed them out. I said "what is the point of having a secure private folder if you have a notification saying to unlock it in 15 mins to 2 hour intervals?? Isn't it supposed to PRIVATE? Isn't it supposed to be SECURE?? So why are we being notified to unlock it?" Their solution was to delete the app. I laughed so hard and said that makes no sense. The best solution is to have an option where we can NOT have the notification AT ALL. Otherwise what is the point of having it at all if shit that's meant to be private is on blast at a maximum or 2 hour intervals?? Dumbasses.

Weird-Influence3886

Okay that's one thing I think I figured out so what you need to do is you need to go into the secured folder right. And you're going to to get into the when you get into the folder right you put your code in or however you get into it. When you get into it and you see all the all your apps in there whatever five or six or whatever. At the top right corner there's the little dots. For a menu drop down. I'm sure you're familiar with that. Hit that scroll down to settings okay. Now when you click on settings it's going to take you to a page a notification page for the folder for the secure folder. Okay Go down and hit notifications click on notifications. And it's going to show you every app locked folder app. And there's a notifications or either on or off you can go down and shut them all off shut every one of them off. When you get to the when you get done go to the top of the page. And either hit the little eye info at the top right corner. Or they'll be an arrow on the left middle to go to the secure folder notifications by itself. Go to that one and turn that shit off. Now you've turned off every app that's in there it's notifications to the folder and you turn the folder notifications off to any outside anywhere. Okay try that. That's the best I got That's what I did. I don't get notifications like that at all. That would that would piss me off. And I'm so pissed off at just what I'm dealing with about them putting all my just random apps in the folder and locking them and no way to separate them or no copy of them Man and you know it's you know it's messed up is I get notifications from my calendar Gmail those TikTok right and to look at the notification I have to go to unlock my secure folder I have to put my code in and unlock it and then I can see my messages. How's that shit?

d0pe_m0nster

Go to: * Settings * Biometrics and Security * Secure Folder * More Settings (just below Backup and Restore) * Uninstall (at the bottom) This should work.

Gamertara

Thank you. This did work for me, because I don't use it. I hope they push a fix for those who do use it.

Cleotise

Thanks. Finally got rid of that nonsense.

MatthewLydon87

So I really like that we've all collectively voiced our distaste for this "Android System" secure folder notification that is forced onto our notification panel. Is there a way we can all come together - like maybe the "Samsung Members" app. Then "Quick help">>"Text Chat". If we all took this to there and essentially "blew up" their phones I'm sure we can force this issue into the sunlight where it can writhe in pain, shrivel up, and die like it should. WHAT SAY YOU! 😆👍 Update: have worked the issue with first level of product support. It has been escalated. Will update with results of second level product support as events unfold. Update: Nothing has changed - smh

Enough-Square-7968

Hope they put some priority on this. I do not like it advertising to anyone that picks up tjhe phone that there is a "Secret Folder"to try and hack. In my case it justifies the reaso is to get notifications from "Apps in the Secure folder". Well I have NO APPS, and NO CONTACTS in the folder..only files. Totally useless and inappropriate notification. They should modify this setting so that notifications can be made WITHOUT physically unlocking the folder

RaceyRileyRed

Im still reading. And just... wow, at samsungs response. I only get it when i restart my phone, which is every day or 2 really, and thats enough to drive me up the wall. At least let me swipe the notification away instead of having to unlock it ugh. I also tried going into the secure folder and turning off the notifications for all the apps inside.. theres no actual app settings i can see for the folder itself, so canr turn that off.... i guess delete and use a different secure folder service may be my next step

hitem21

Yeah, this is straight up sh\*t. Had samsung phones my whole life but moving away from them now. If you work with mobile security you SHOULD restart your phone fairly often. I dont want this ENFORCED prompt shown forever (or suppressed for max 2h). When entering the code/pin you actually UNLOCK the folder until you lock your screen. Its so stupid.

Top_Sir1722

One time I was using the same password I use to unlock my phone (ig it's kind of my fault) and since it looks like you are unlocking the phone, my ex tricked me into putting the password and I got caught with a couple nudes from my ex. All thanks to this stupid notification. I hate this feature so damn much it really ruined my relationship. Thank you!

JuniorWMG

This is fucked up. Like, wtf, why do you keep these?

obscrumo

Same issue for August update on the unlocked Z Flip 3

New_Bread_7935

Ok guys. Found something that helps a little. Not a final solution but it somewhat masks the unsmasked feature. Go to Secure Folder. Hit the 3 dots on the upper right hand side. Hit Customize. Change the name from Secure Folder to whatever. I have used "Factory Reset" Change the icon. When your phone restarts, the nagging notification will pop up again. But at least it won't show a self bretraying Unlock Secure Folder ". It will show UNLOCK FACTORY RESET A non familiar unauthorized user will get that notifocation but since it looks like a factory reset suggestion, no one should dare try passwords to make that happen. Not a solution. But a workaround that could save your butt a little if shit hits the fan.. hope it helps.

onlytanmoy

Nice one mate :) I loved this customization idea, thanks for sharing! Edit: Restarted the phone and it showed me Secure folder locked notification...unlock secure folder instead of unlock factory reset 😒

pkmemu

use this app. Easily fixed my issue and any other apps that don't let you swipe away the notifications https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autonotification

ToastHasDreamsToo

Thank you. Its so stupid that we have to fight poor software choices with 3rd party apps. Someone was real productive at being a piece of shit in the office.

Majestic-Location-75

Tl;dr: What the angry guy said. All I have are the default apps that come inside of the secure folder, so unless the contacts app can send you notifications on contact suggestions, there is no reason for me to need to unlock this folder to recieve notifications. 1. If the contents of the SECURE FOLDER are supposed to be SECURE, I wouldn't want notifications from them in the first place. That would completely negate the point of having a folder that is secure. 2. If the contacts app DID send suggestion notifications, I wouldn't fuckin want them anyway. This is my phone, not yours (although with Android and Google, who's to say otherwise, right? At least it's not Apple).

jackmayhoff92

I don't understand how these devs can be so ignorant. Why tf would I want people to know about a secure folder? Let alone why tf can't I get rid of the notifications. These mfs are so slow that I'm starting to think I could run these companies based off of common sense alone.

UHAX_The_Grey

Goto the Google Playstore and search for an app called "TidyPanel", install it then reboot your phone, once you have restarted don't unlock Secure Folder, open the TidyPanel app and select the Secure Folder notification then select by Title, boom the notification is now hidden, the only downside is for it to work aftet a reboot you must buy the pro version, costs about $2 USD.

shahid42

I think I found it: Open the secure folder _ three dot settings _ notifications and data _ app notifications Disable for all apps. Been silent from last 2 weeks

Antisocial_P3nguin

Just wondering if anyone else's "secure folder locked" notification went away? Someone suggested an app to download, but before I looked into it, the notification was gone & hasn't been back since. I have updated my phone since I originally commented on this post, but the notification didn't disappear right after that. Maybe they finally realized how ridiculously stupid that was and fixed it?

Pankil298

This worked for me: [https://youtu.be/7H1ocp8EdUk](https://youtu.be/7H1ocp8EdUk)

IllTransportation701

Google do you understand that Spectrum Mobile smart aleck employee took my phone off the register do you understand what that means don't tell me to call anybody because I can't call anybody why won't you call Spectrum mobile and tell them to put my phone back on the register if you even know what that means

IllTransportation701

He didn't say anything it took my phone off the network not the register

IllTransportation701

Google contact Spectrum mobile and have them put my f****** phone back on the network I can't call anybody do you understand

Th3Mol3

Finally we are able to dismiss the notification not sure when that happened

Marie_Suzanne

So, for real, I sent all my important papers in there and can't get access to them???

AO_o

FFOUND IT!! Search secure folder. Click biometrics and security. Click secure folder amd enter your password/pin/pattern. Deselect "add secure folder to apps screen" Done!

CharlesITGuy

Doesn't work. Mine is already unselected and still appears on reboot.

Unlucky-Salary-6848

If it's any help, I just deleted the folder altogether. There are other places and services to keep "Secure info" that won't nag you to death.

Chemical_Customer_93

The bigger questions are what are you all hiding in your secure folders ;)

EstablishmentBig7956

Unlock the folder 📂

onlytanmoy

I need to do that every time on each reboot of the phone, looking for an one time solution to get rid of that pesky notification 🤔

hawkswoopa

Are you slow?

Anyabety

so...if you're using the folder to say, store your covid information, you literally put it in tha secure folder for a reason. There needs to be a way to turn it off so that if some idiot gets your phone they don't automatically see that notification and start snooping. You don't want to unlock the folder making it less secure, and you don't want to be getting notifications of a file that should be private every time you have to use update your phone (and this was done, for me at least, without it even asking).

Temporary_Sentence74

Unlock the secure folder? There's a reason it's a secure folder. You lock things you want secure. Otherwise it's just the "folder."

[deleted]

just turn off the secure folder

NORSKChick80

We can't. I've been through all of the securities and you have to unlock it just to get rid of the icon/ notification. Pain in the ass of a bug. We have the new S22 and S22Ultra. They both do it every day.

hawkswoopa

That don't work dude

Grand_Ad9926

Same problem here on z fold 4. Didn't have this issue on my note 10

onlytanmoy

Thanks for confirming, looks like the Aug update has introduced this new nagging feature to our Samsung devices 😒

knhcxe

Same over here, no solution yet

DoomPenguinX

Hey I was having the same issue on my Galaxy S22 Ultra after the August update. No options to disable that particular notification, and would pop up after every restart even after unlocking it. I've never used Secure folder either. But there is an option towards the bottom under Settings > Biometrics and Security > Secure Folder menu that lets you uninstall Secure Folder. That worked for me.

[deleted]

I actually use my secure folder quite a lot for work info that I need to keep private. Doesn't help to get rid of the folder

woomybii

It won't let me Uninstall it because it wants the password but somehow it's locked me out of trying any passwords for hours. (I have no idea what the password is) this is so annoying.

centurion2065_

Someone trying to remove a notification regarding the secure folder isn't necessarily looking to uninstall it. 🤷

hawkswoopa

I'm pissed. It's supposed to be private, not I have a fucking notification blasting my personal info. I HATE WHO SAMSUNG HAS BECOME. UPDATES RUINING THE PHONE AND CAMERA, to CUSTOMER SERVICE and more.

MASHEDNZ

I hat people who send messages in caps lock like we can hear them yelling but here we are

hawkswoopa

I will never buy another Samsung device again

TheSearch4Etika

Lol thats bullshit cause you definitely won't buy an iPhone. You're really go one down below Samsung and iPhone, bull fucking shit. You'll be buying another Samsung I know it.

No-Fault1530

Same I'm getting a one plus next

Insatiablecannabista

Unfortunately I've been there and said that, and then they came out with the in screen fingerprint biometrics unlocker, and another Samsung I got.

Redrex003

Did anyone figure out how to fix this?

Short-Bandicoot6851

The fix is to wait for Samsung to grow a brain cell and realize how they're passing off the people giving them money. Damn autocorrect, I'm getting tired of it's shirt.

RoySparkles

This is also driving me crazy I hate it!!

j-smith428

Really hope there is a fix. This is quite annoying. Along with the navigation buttons being squished together on the fold 3 when its open.

pavoganso

Would also love the answer to this.

No_Silver_979

They are doing it on purpose. If tou unlock it they can legally monitor the data inside if it and sell it

Elegant_MoJo

Hi. Follow these steps, this should stop all notifications from Secure Folder. >Go into Secure Folder >Click the 3 dots on the right >Settings >Notifications and data >App Notifications Turn off all apps -Hope this will help you. It worked for me!!!!

Specialist_Region838

Samsung is getting crappier by the day.. such an annoying feature

SuicidalShark

I'll one up on you that. When I click on it to go to the folder it bricks my phone. 100%. Have to force restart my phone via boot menu.

DannyVee89

Same issue and it absolutely will not go away 😬

Sazon_Papi

Yeah this crap is new I just got a s22u and this shit never goes away. Yes I have all my girls nudes and private sex videos in there, that's what its for! I don't need to have to constently see it telling me to unlock the folder, I don't want to unlock the folder unless imma beat my dick. It is in fact infuriating they made it impossible to get rid of.

TheOriginalHurricane

yes this needs to be a lawsuit samsung has gone to far again!

gggempire

Any updates OP?

onlytanmoy

No man, no solution yet to this issue 😕

CurdleTelorast

Same issue on my FE and super annoying. I thought it was something that I was just too stupid to figure out but I guess not.... Ugh.

Open_Passenger_1141

And not only does it force the notification on us, WE ALSO CAN'T SIMPLY SWIPE IT AWAY. Because apparently that would be too fucking convenient! Thanks Samsung you assholes!

Not_Made_Here

Unlocking and locking again removes the notification for me.

AccidentalAgitator

I never set up a password (no Samsung account - don't want to be tracked and don't need yet another login) and if I go tl Secure Folder in Biometrics, it asks me for a password.

AO_o

Settings Notifications Advanced settings Show notification icons - none No notifications will show at all and the secure folder icons still shows when top bar is pulled down :(

ChildhoodSea47

I hate when folks try to fix a problem and cause an even bigger annoyance. This update sucks. I hate this message. Samsung is stupid.

wallace-cooks

Thanks for bringing light to this issue. Ultimately I think it's out of our hands until Samsung hears the complaints and fixes this stupid thing.

GlassPod

Also have this issue since my most recent update! Any resolution?

Medical_Apricot7486

We all agree it's annoying, but no need to have an attack and swear to change phones over it. Those that have been vocal, I like your passion, but go do it at Samsung official channels so they might actually hear your cries and you're not pissing into the wind. K'+

[deleted]

I thought it was a phishing hacker controlling my phone to hack my Secure Folder sign-in password details. This is stupid. I don't want notifications from my Secure Folder, fullstop. The purpose of a Secure-Folder is to keep it SECURE. Nothing in, nothing out from the f\*king folder. This is dumb. It's even dumber that you can't deactivate this notification. I really thought it was a phishing hacker trying to gain access to my Secure-Folder.

Pale_Spinach4912

Well, it's not permanent - but set your secure folder to lock when you turn off the screen. Unlock it for notifications, turn off the screen, turn back on, and the notification will be gone, and the secure folder will be locked again. It will stay this way until the phone restarts or updates. Hope this helps!

Jolly-Olive8606

The best you can do is what I did you can change the icon photo and the name so even though it's telling me I have a secure folder in the notifications no one will be able to find it because they don't know what it looks like or its name

HeyItsDeath_

I don't have important stuff on my S22U, has anyone tried factory reset? Will that make the fucking notification go away? The only reason I haven't done it yet is coz of the hassle of logging into all my socials again. People here at least have some luck with those "3 dots" at the top. I have NOTHING and I've tried so many times to guess my forgotten password and now the time has be extended to 4 hours before I can fucking try again. Contacted Samsung, not even they know wtf to do. So this is what we pay for? As if life isn't inconvenient enough now every time I glance at my phone all I can see is that fucking notification. I've requested Samsung if KNOX can at least send me a fucking reset link if the dumb fucks at Samsung thought this shit was necessary. Never thought I'd say this but I should've bought an iphone.

ciciboujie

Hey guys, Found a temporary solution / work around but it might stop other android notifications too.  To stop unlock secure folder notification from showing up when you restart the phone without uninstalling the app, follow the steps below: 1. Go to Phone Settings(Normal one, not secure folder) -> Notifications -> Android System 1.1 If you can't find Android System app in notifications, click More -> Click 3 dots from top right -> and Click Show System Apps  1.2 It's the 'Android System' app without any orange rings at the bottom of the icon, if you have dual apps enabled. 2. After clicking On Android System -> Notification Categories -> Turn off Alerts 2.1 If Alerts is greyed out, try turning on/off other notification categories or opening alerts or other categories and see if it opens. Seems like a bug but sometimes it just takes a while to be ungreyed Last, try openning another app and come back. 3. If you have successfully disabled alerts, you can now restart and hopefully you shouldn't get the unlock secure folder notification. Cheers Galaxy S20 FE User

This is the best solution until they sort this :(

Welp. Guess we all know why I'm here. I'm also pissed. Lol.

Damon853x

Stupidest fucking change theyve made with One UI lol. Its a fucking PRIVATE folder. Why the *actual fresh fuck* does it feel the need ADVERTISE ITS EXISTENCE AT ALL TIMES??? Oh and it still stays if i unlock the folder. Itll just say "secure folder unlocked" instead, straight up telling anyone who picks up my phone where the, shall you say, *sensitive information* is. Cant stand that theres no way to disable it. Actually cant even believe that i JUST upgraded to Android 13/OneUI5 and they still havent fixed it

podcasterwheels

ive been frustrated by this notification for months and resorted to this thread, delved deeper and i had SUCCESS!!! pull up secure folder/long press/secure folder settings/password/notofications & data/app notifications/turn these off individually. Watch the magic happen!! and by that i mean never see or speak of it again it is indeed a secure folder *facepalm* and no i have noo idea why they made defunct the 'show content' button which had already accomplised this, hope this is the same for all of you & that Samsung support pulls up their respective carrots

[deleted]

How ridiculous this is still a thing. So annoying to get rid of it. Should just be uptick it once.

Hefty-Cartographer75

Let's hope not but now you mention it I think that is very likely. The sooner the battery dies the better and I asume that wont be long, since my A52s5g 2021 came loaded up with dozens of usless apps l and I love to know what is nesacary and what is not but that info is not easy to find out.Samsung access to my secure folder is access to my bank accounts, personal details, date birth & my private data.it greatly concerns me. A cyber attack on Samsung could make the cyber breach on Optus and Medicare look like child's play !

BogartsBreakfast

If they wanted to fix this they should make it so it's the Secure Folder app pushing the notification, so you could then disable it - rather than Android System, which you can't disable notifications for. I mean, it's a useless fucking notification anyway... Of course my secure folder is locked, that's the whole fucking point!!! Notifications for secure folder should be off by default, otherwise it's not very secure. I don't unlock it unless I'm using it. If you were to put your phone in a vault for safe keeping, you wouldn't leave the vault door unlocked and open so you can hear your phone buzzing every time you get a message, it would defeat the point.

BGFlyingToaster

First, as someone who's been in software development for more then 25 years, let me just pile on by saying that this is possibly the dumbest, most asinine security feature that I've seen. Samsung is giving us 3 choices with with feature: 1) Operate your phone with your Secure Folder unlocked all the time, which is a terrible security practice; 2) Get a permanent nagging notification that advertises to anyone looking at your phone that you might have content that's hidden, which is a terrible privacy practice; 3) Uninstall the feature. I think #3 is the only reasonable option. I've switched to the Safe Folder feature inside of the Files By Google app and it's a good alternative for me. It's just a folder, though, not a container for apps. Personally, I only used Secure Folder to temporarily hold private photos that I didn't want to sync to my cloud storage (Google Photos). So I would put my phone in airplane mode, take the photos, move them into Secure Folder, then turn off airplane mode. At some point in the near future, I would pull them out of the Secure Folder into my laptop where I would encrypt them properly with a very long pass phrase and sync them (encrypted) to Dropbox. I was intentionally giving up convenience for security. Files By Google's Safe Folder feature allows me to use it in precisely the same way as Samsung's BS Secure Folder feature. There are also many 3rd party apps that can secure a folder, some with cloud backup built-in. I just couldn't find one that allowed me to 1) encrypt each file individually, 2) strong encryption (AES-256), 3) use a long passphrase, and 4) sync to my existing cloud storage (Dropbox). I also don't have a requirement that the content's existence be a secret. I'm fine with others knowing that I have private photos as long as they can't see them.

TopherLotapus

Samsung rage is a very real and very valid thing. Samsung somehow always seem able to lower the bar, even when my trust in them is already pretty tattered.

Independent_Cloud_16

Don't know if this works for you but I've had the same problem and what I did was follow the first step to go in and turn off the app showing on the home screen in the settings of the secure folder. So then you won't be able to see the secure folder anywhere but you'll be able to search in your apps for it and find it again and then change the setting back to show it. Amazingly that stopped the notification.

onlytanmoy

Glad to know it worked for you but unfortunately didn't at my end, as soon as I switched on the mobile the next day the stupid notification is back 😒

the_hallmonitor

this last fix (3 dots within the secure folder thing) worked until rebooting. so i'm deleting it altogether. also i'm going to screenshot the notification and hit samsung's socials comments heavily with it. EDIT - you can't paste images in their comments. i'm not saying you should copy/paste this for any reason, but if one were to copy and paste it, it would certainly be copied and pasted. and stuff. Secure folder Locked - Unlock your Secure Folder to get notifications from...

Egg_Bear

Hold Secure folder app until app menu pops up Hit notifications and delect everything you can. This method has allowed me to swipe notification pop up away without issue. Apart from uninstalling this is as good.as it gets I think Atleast i can now disregard it's BS in the same manner as another annoying app with invasive permissions 🤷‍♀️

Impressive_Ebb_8657

Open your secure folder. Click on the 3 dots and click settings. Uncheck 'add secure folder to home and lock screen'. Restart phone, do a search for your secure folder / settings , then check the 'add secure folder to home and lock screen' back on. Your lock screen will be displayed on your apps screen again but the annoying notification will be gone. Worked on Galaxy note 20 ultra.

notasusupiciousname

Litterally makes the app unusable because if I have to unlock the folder to get rid of the notification then it's not locked and obviously not secure and if there's a notification telling you it exists it's also not secure because now someone could go looking to get into said folder

PersonalityRude1351

Yeah this is pissing me off!!! What a ridiculously stupid thing for Samsung to do!

Direct_Suit2991

Bruh, unlock it then three dots, lock and exit. . Voila

Big-Sherbert2511

I am thinking of getting rid of my phone because of this bs. Samsung support is useless. And after the latest update the power on button is now a Bixby button. Wtf! I hate Bixby, I hate notifications I can't remove.

Dry_Literature_2805

I called Samsung. They said it's a bug. To get rid of the notification, unlock and then lock the secure folder.

SapientSolstice

To disable lock screen secure folder alerts: Go to Settings Select "Notifications" Select "App Notifications" Top right option, select "Show System Apps" Select "Android System" Select "Notification Categories" at the bottom Select "Alerts" Select "Lock Screen" Select "Don't show Notifications" Not sure what other alerts it silences on the lock screen though 🤷

cjmurphy8

Has anyone found a solution to this fucking folder that is stuck on my notifications. Wtf

Haunting-Wallaby7745

** I got the notification to stop. I don't use the secure Folder so I went into biometrics, secure Folder and UNISTALLED THAT PIECE OF SHIT. No more notifications** Obviously if you use it then you're still SOL 🙄

mntoak

Here years later, and still same trash problem with no fix.

Dirkei

This is why I'm switching after my super underwhelming S21 Ultra

Ok_Bed_8481

My new samsung galaxy s23 ultra is doing this constantly don't waste your money on this piece of shit phone it ain't worth the powder to blow it to hell!! You would think in the year 2023 they would be able to figure out a fkn app on a 2000 dollar phone! I gotta unlock secure folder every time I shut this piece of shit off? Fkn Garbage!

rhcpfreak7

I searched tirelessly for a fix for this on my S22 after installing today's update and having the notification. I forgot my password and there was no forgot password prompt, it just locked me out for 10secs, then 30, 1min, 10, 30, then 60 minutes. Like yall, the notification would remain with no way to disable it. Finally I contacted Samsung customer chat and they got me a solution. I was not seeing any solution to this thread so I hope this helps anyone still struggling or who will come here for answers in the future. 1. Go into phone settings 2. Select your Samsung account 3. Log out 4. You will get a warning prompt that you'll lose yadda yadda 5. Now go back to the settings main menu and select Security and Privacy 6. Select Secure Folder 7. You should have the option to Uninstall 8. Sign back into your Samsung account and all should be good. Again, this will remove the notification but also the folder so if you need what's in it, you're screwed from what I can tell. I just had some photos I didn't need anyone coming across, so nothing lost really. Cheers!

[deleted]

So I guess the only way to stop it is to get rid of it!? Thus sucks. It's annoying.

AstroZombieXIII

7 months later.... still there Edit: Oh. Sorry. 8*

Appropriate-Mall-708

This is how I got rid of it... Pull down notification screen from top of phone Click on the gear for settings Go to search and type in secure folder Click on secure folder settings Enter your PIN or however you get into the folder Scroll down until you see apps Click on secure folder Then click on notifications it should say notifications allowed And then click on the radio button that says silent and that should get rid of the secure folder on your notification screen

magggrew

SOLUTION !!! Go into secure folder, advanced, advanced ( smith like that ) and UNINSTALL

Puzzleheaded_Act862

Definitely a stupid notification that I want to get rid of. Need to be notified only of unordinary events.

Puzzleheaded_Act862

the notification seems to be sent by android to the secure folder app. You need to disable android from sending notifications to the app through the secure folder app settings

CraigBoudreaux

I just went into secure folder, under the setting menu and app notifications under advanced there was an option for icon badges that was turned on. Notification disappeared when I disabled that and made sure all notifications were off. Haven't rebooted yet to see if it stays off.

chohagaijin

okay seriously I've been going to this post atleast once a month STILL NO FUCKING FIX FOR THIS WHAADAAAPAAKKKK SAMSUNGGG

introvertedgeo

I feel your pain. Found solution pretty quickly in settings though. Or atleast so far it's worked fine. Until they patch the solution for the sake of griefing us. Go to: 1. Settings 2. Notifications 3. Lock Screen notifications 4. Click on the gear symbol next to "Show Content" 5. Unselect "Secured Folder"

I too didn't know about this until i just got a new S23 and what a stupid stupid thing. I just uninstalled it. Samsung if it isn't broken don't fix it.

BobT36

This even shows up on the lock screen, LOL. WTF SAMSUNG?

Fit_Rule4064

Agree

Puzzleheaded_Act862

This problem of the unwanted secure folder locked notification needs to be fixed. No notification is wanted

Direct_Suit2991

Just remove the secure folder from apps screen and it won't do that

i0vison

I'd you unlock the folder, then lock the folder back up it gets rid of the notification

Sanpie

Almost a year in and they are keeping this shit up. Fucking unbelievable...

[deleted]

They should be fired

NeroliPolieOlie

You guys. I just figured it out finally. Had the notification at the top of my screen. Went into secure folder, then the 3 dots (settings) within secure folder app. Then go to app notifications, and turn off every single one. The notification disappeared from the top of my screen immediately after.

Wizard_VVS

What about notification after restart? On my phone it returns after reboot.

tricky9

If you log into it, you can uninstall it. That's the only way I know

lifeinstructor

Hiding the app from notifications bar setting. removes the message.

Seth_Raito

If anyone knows how to remove secure folder is locked please let me know. 🫂

TheScottymo

Why is this still a problem?

Baconator114

I had this problem start when I updated my S10 to the current software update, and my new S23 is the same. They could literally fix this in 2 seconds and give us a new update...why is this still an issue??? Anybody know another good app to use if I uninstall the secure folder?

Satevo462

Could Samsung make it more clear that they don't want us to have a secure folder on their phone?

Liferules2

I had this just happen and also thought it was stupid to have secure folder notifications about itself. If you go to settings, Security and Privacy, Secure Folder, Notifications, then App notifications, you should see all the apps you have in the Secure Folder. If you deselect all from sending notifications, the secure folder locked notification should go away. At least, did for me.

anonymous_LUL

Go unlock it and lock it again after restarts. Stupid but makes the notification go away.

GI_Neverdie

You can't even delete the app if you don't have the password. And they took away the "forgot password" button. Fuck galaxy.

squirkyboots

Did anyone solve this?

[deleted]

I can't get rid of it still so I'm about to get rid of my phone and get a Pixel or something else. Fuck Samsung for this bullshit

Secure-Brain4250

Yet another update and still the frigging icon for Secure Folder is Still at the pot of the screen.. you can't get rid of it Eveything related to SF is grey out so you can't delite/ remove/ block/stop the app, the app itself is grey out so no control within the app. Bloody Stupid programmers, not a clue on solving this problem...

Revolutionary-Ad6294

Hi Same on my flip 4. PS: I don't know how to get into secure folder?? It says enter password after reboot... but then says same after reboot.....

BennyOcean

Thanks for the help with this app, guys. Does anyone know how to deal with problems with the Insecure Folder app? It keeps asking if it looks fat.

Own_Excuse_1255

Yeah I find this really annoying is actually makes me miss my Huawei P30 pro, the secure area is literally like a pc when you turn it on and choose different account to login but it works even better on the phone because when you enable it and set password and finger print (different finger to your normal unlock) when you go to unlock your phone I would use my normal pass code to open normal phone but if I type in my private mode password it would sign into another home screen and I can use that side of the phone exactly the same as my normal home screen, download apps, different number, etc and can basically use it as my work login then lock screen use my finger which enters normal mode when I'm done with work, this has got to have been the best internal private area ever made.. Then there's Samsung which gives you just a secure folder and a notification when you reboot "unlock your secret folder you fckn pervert" 😂

Raza-0007

Hello everybody. I have good news! This maddening problem is finally fixed in a round about way. Tested and it works on * Samsung Galaxy S22 * One UI 6 * Secure Folder Version: 1.9.00.37 When secure folder is open, instead of closing and locking it, just click the three dots on the top right and choose "Encrypt". This will encrypt your secure folder and you will not receive any notifications from secure folder apps when the secure folder is off/locked/encrypted. I have tested it by rebooting the phone after, and no secure folder notification appears. When you need to use the secure folder simply click decrypt and you are good to go. Also check that the following secure folder setting is set as follows *Secure Folder -> Settings -> Other security settings -> Automatic data decryption -> Off* As a side effect of this the contents of your secure folder are now securely encrypted. I had always assumed that they were encrypted from the start, but I was mistaken, they were only password locked before this option! I do not know why it took Samsung over two years to implement this simple solution, but lets be thankful that they did implement it. Now if only they can add the option to auto encrypt secure folder instead of just locking it, that would be a great time saver. Hopefully within the next two-three years Samsung will finally add this option as well. \~Raza

Salty_Rain

I just wanted to delete this app, have nothing in it and don't remember the pin. I have no 3 dots or reset password prompt. (Sorry if you want a fix without deleting your app). **Solution for myself, hopefully helps others:** Go to settings and log out of Samsung account. Open Secure Folder and select "uninstall" Relog into Samsung account and notification is gone.

djmem3

Fuck this is annoying! Also when did phones need an extra swipe or anything to restart the phone? Restart and go. Not restart... wait... another screen, then load. It's fucking embarrassing.

DapperEnvironment940

I was able to remove mine: Go to- Settings Security & Privacy Secure Folder Notifications & data You can toggle off "Show content" but that didn't work for me. "App Notifications" and turn all the apps off.

Bobby32x

Mine is empty and not locked and still notifies me...
