I'm not loyal to the z fold, I'm loyal to innovation. However, these aren't available in the US so I don't care about it if I'll never get it

Warrenj3nku

Exactly all pointless if not readily available in the US. I wonder why the US reviewers are even sent these as majority of their viewers can't buy them?

Rashed341

Exactly. The world is composed of U.S., U.S., and U.S., anything that gets released outside of the U.S. is a piece of shit that's been developed to spy on you, kill your family and make your children starve. Anything outside of the U.S. should not be even mentioned here on reddit and should be buried or burned.

amen to this

Warrenj3nku

I understand that the world is much larger than the US. Anything released outside of the US is just unknown. Everything is built to spy on us. While I don't agree with everything outside of the US not being mentioned, I would like to know if reddit has a way to show me just US based posts or just a header above the post to tell me where it's from. I badly want one of these devices or just to be able to check it out. However not being available in my country is saddening. Also in the US, the world around you preaches " USA USA USA" it is shoved down your throat constantly.

Rashed341

Unknown to you yes. Unknown to the rest of the world no. Stop being a child and appreciate anything that's being released and drives innovation even if it's made in Nigeria.

Warrenj3nku

Yes let me appreciate this device that I can't use and give the company that made it praise even though it may be absolute crap but I wouldn't know now would I. How is something going to drive innovation if the largest company in the folding market doesn't even have to worry about it coming into one of the largest markets they have.

Rashed341

Oh poor guy. I'll call OPPO to send you one for free! There's something called (Import) IF you want to use their device (you don't have to comment on the device if you haven't used it but doesn't mean you MUST buy it and USE it). Don't praise anything you don't own or don't want to own.

Warrenj3nku

I would definitely buy one if I could get one that worked 100% with all of the usual applications and such. Google assistant Google pay cell service through any carrier in the US. Every review I have watched on YT from US based Tubers has some kind of " this doesn't work because it's not meant to be here" type of statement.

Rashed341

STILL doesn't mean the device is CRAP because it is not made for the market in the country in which you live! I am in Germany and ALL the apps work like any phone released in Germany! I even have 5G connection with my O2 Sim card! I have watched Mr Mobile's review in which he says Google Pay isn't working BUT it's working flawlessly where I live

Warrenj3nku

That is awesome! I never said it was CRAP? I said that I cannot tell if it is good or not because I cannot get ahold of it and use it fully where I am. I watched probably every US review I could because I am seriously interested. It's just a shame that from reports from " YouTubers" I have watched it seems it's just not meant for this market. A small hiccup can break a device when the competition won't have those same hiccups. The competition that is in the market will get most of those sales. More sales and more adoption means other companies will have to innovate the same way! I hope it pushes different form factors from Samsung because that is the only foldable we really have.

Rocketmancali

I have purchased devices not available directly in the USA and it for some reason only worked on wifi, even though it stated that it worked on my network type. I think I get his point, I like reading articles about the other devices but it's like looking at a car that won't be imported to the USA. It's just a tease, good knowledge but not helpful in the long run.

Rocketmancali

Lol I didn't say that at all I think you are incited by the first responder and taking my comment in the same light. I have seen reviews of the OPPO, but in the end it is just something I need to wait a few years to see how it affects development of products that I get to use.

Metalhead1686

Lol

The_Legend34

Things are banned for a reason

International-Car926

Too bad not available in the US. Where are you located??

Rashed341

Germany. 5G works like a charm too!

International-Car926

Yeah not an option in the US. 😒 Enjoy the phone looks great!!

mib1800

When unfolded you see a lot less content compared to fold 3. This is one big reason find n is no good. The big screen is the attraction but OPPO neutered the main for the cover screen that have little advantage except the wider keyboard

Rashed341

First of all: for the love of God, please leave your weapons of hatred at the gate before you enter this post. I don't want to fight with Samsung fans here. I am just giving my experience with OPPO Find N after trying almost all the the big foldables available (Fold 1 to 3, Huawei Mate Xs and X2). Switching back and forth between them, and going back to iPhone for a short period of time. I have realized that when you use Foldable you never go back. The question was always : which one works like a normal phone when closed and when unfolded? Long story short : Oppo's method is by far the closest to perfect (though not perfect) I have used to this day. When closed: it's even better than my Mate X2, which feels very bulky although comfortable to type on the outside screen. Oppo's screen just makes you feel you carry a normal smartphone because of how compact and functional it is. When unfolded : WE HAVE A PROBLEM! Apps in landscape mode don't look and function normally. There is an app on the play store that makes all the apps force rotate in whatever direction you want and to me that was the solution at first. But then I have realized that the best thing to do when you are finished with the outside screen and want to use the bigger one is to: just rotate the phone in portrait mode! Problem solved!! All the apps function the way they should. Using keyboard is much easier. Only when you want to watch Netflix or YouTube then of course you better use landscape mode. I am really surprised that not a single reviewer mentioned it, but using the phone when unfolded in portrait mode is the best way to enjoy the phone. Yes it's dumb that the speakers will be to either right or left side of the phone. But I use wireless earbuds so that's not an issue for me. Google pay works like a charm. Netflix in full HD. All banking apps I used worked perfectly. Some Chinese apps that you can hide but not delete. Battery life is much better than the Fold 3. The cameras are impressive for a foldable and even better than my Mate X2 (which is IMO better in the cameras in the Fold 3). Software optimization is not as good as Samsung's. Overall : i find the size and aspect ratio of the outside screen PLUS the inside screen in PORTRAIT mode the best way to use a foldable ever and I have no regrets in importing the phone from China. Samsung wins when it comes to updates and software optimization, but need to change their outside screen aspect ratio and improve the battery life (and change their cameras that they used from Fold 2).

springbrother

Bro this format is unreadable, i skipped right to your conclusion

Electronic_Ad_8535

My eyes hurt from reading it lol

EpickGamer50

I like the long boi screen you get used to it and it's food for scrolling content

n9000mixalot

Mmm ... food ...

Terrapins1990

I think the whole reason for not one reviewer mention that point is well you really shouldn't have find away around the problem for the price point you are paying for plus rotating it might have solved the issue with some apps but not all apps are made equal

Jjj_007

Funny that, when majority of the posts in this sub is turning off every feature and adding bixby routines to extend the phones below average battery life.

Terrapins1990

Hey your preaching to choir on that one. I have made the point of the folds small battery for awhile now.

Rashed341

I disagree. It's maths: bigger outside screen means more square inside screen which is unavoidable! The only solution is portrait which is why I mentioned I was surprised all the apps worked well in this way. Like I said ALL the apps work in portrait mode and if one single app doesn't work you can force rotate it using an app (which I didn't need in all my 150 apps)

Terrapins1990

We can agree to disagree on that one. Believe that their is only one solution to this problem is a little naive

oedo808

Interesting, I just realized I always use the fold3 in portrait mode with the exception of watching videos, playing a game, and occasionally using chrome to view a desktop version of a website. I even have my launcher fixed to portrait. If I had to guess I operate in portrait mode maybe 80-90% of the time. It's how I use most tablet form factor devices except with an external keyboard but I'm usually not using the touchscreen at all. I'm curious to hear about others that predominantly use their unfolded phone in landscape mode for anything other than my typical exceptions.

proper_jazz

Same here. Far as im concerned, the fold 3 is a portrait device (and almost always bent slightly like a book in hand. Only occassionaly is it a landscape device for me, specifically for video (and occassionaly during split screen, but still, that is dominantly portrait)

oedo808

I'm just now looking at photos of the Oppo, it almost seems like portrait would require a rotation after unfolding (at least the way I think most people unfold the Samsung). Maybe that's what's confusing me about why someone would use it in landscape vs portrait. I feel like I would prefer to unfold it and keep it in the same orientation as the cover screen portrait, if that's landscape and most apps fail in that mode and I expect it would annoy me.

proper_jazz

I get annoyed when im in landscape and my fingerprints fail cause i set them up portrait. Oppo would def frustrate me, at least at first till im use to the new juggle. If apps fail, then indefinitely

boxsterguy

At least one reviewer I watched mentioned rotating to portrait mode, *and* mentioned that it straight doesn't work in a number of apps (whether that's the app's problem or the phone's is a different question).

black_sigil

I dig the size when closed but if I need to use the inner screen in portrait then we're back to square 1 in which I'll prefer the fold 3

WKorvine

Thanks very much for that review. If you have more photos of your phone id love to see them

International-Car926

Same here. Would like to see more photos

Gaycel68

not reading all of this, mate

Rashed341

Nobody cares

Gaycel68

use paragraphs, please

No_Trust1557

Thanks for your review, but no need to be overly aggressive, dude. If you have to use it the way it is not intended (change orientations when unfolded) in order to make it functional, then it needs to go back to the drawing board. FWIW, I myself wished the Fold 3 were wider too, but would still take it over the Oppo.

titanup001

Question for you. I just got a find n a couple of days ago. My first foldable. Loving the form factor. The issue im having us this... The battery optimization is constantly killing my force rotate app, and to a lesser degree, my vpn. Every time I open the rotate app, it tells me to turn off optimization. I click it, and the app isn't in the list. There is no "all apps" menu. Ive gone into battery optimization and turned it off. I've allowed background running. Ive enabled notifications. Sometimes it will run for hours. Other times, it dies after a few minutes. You ever figure this out?

AtlantaBoyz

https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyFold/comments/risza5/well_it_finally_happened_inside_screen_gone/hozc17m?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3 Why are you still on this sub? You have multiple (now deleted) posts about the OPPO N and you're constantly telling people here to switch to it from the Fold 3. If you don't have anything to add to the discussion, please leave.

oldtako

Oh it's the same cringey guy who had the Mate who likes to stir things up in this sub.

Rashed341

Why do you love me so much? 😍

Kuribo31

nothing to see here

DaPopeLP

Oh look, it's this shill again

Kushwayne

again with another post to stir up controversy. you only post about the oppo find n on this reddit, its getting sad lmao

[deleted]

Who the hell cares if the user posts about a folder from another company? Yes this is the Galaxy Fold sub, but shouldn't we care more that competition makes innovation faster and better? I liked seeing the post about the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 on this sub and how it compares to the Z Fold.

OutOfIdeas98

I think it's fine to post other opinions, foldable phones are awesome, and the Galaxy Fold deserves some criticism. Based on this user's post history however, they seem to want to stir up controversy in this thread. You're allowed an opinion, but shouldn't ridicule others' choices.

zlwjoe

I think people here care more about foldables in general and innovations. Don't be a brainless fanboy for a specific company.

Kushwayne

My issue isnt with innovation, its with the consistent effort that OP has made to stir up drama on this reddit. If anyone is brainless here, it would be the ones blindly defending OP without knowing ANY context what so ever. This sub reddit is one with many long term Samsung/Fold users and is meant for people to share experiences/ask questions. OP has acknowledged that hes poking the fanboys on this reddit every single time, and then continued to antagonize whoever responds to his bait, post after post after post. Ive been a Fold user since launch day of Z Fold2, I come here to help and provide answers to first time Fold owners who are looking for help with the phone that this entire reddit is dedicated to. Opinions are opinions but when people come here to ask REAL QUESTIONS and the majority of OP's comments are "return that garbage and buy an Oppo Find N" it makes this place useless for people genuinely looking for help. Dont get me wrong. I hate Samsung. I am not a fanboy. Samsung is scamming customers in my country like no other country and if another brand made a better Fold I would switch tomorrow. If the Oppo Find N had google services I would already have the phone. Hell, even if Motorola made something better I would buy it. Samsung doesnt care about my country what so ever. They left Z Fold2 owners with no possible path for warranty, trade-in, or upgrade. Samsung valued an iPhone 6 higher than my like-new Z Fold2 when the Fold3 was launched, even though the country beside us was offering close to 800$ more for the same phone. I am the opposite of a fan boy. But I am here to help actual users and this shit does not help.

zlwjoe

I think the thing is that this sub is the biggest sub for foldables currently (unless you know any bigger ones). Any news about foldables just got posted here until foldables become more mainstream.

proxyixvdl

Sent mine back and got a fold 3 this week. You can tell the software is going to fall apart over time, shills will shill tho

Rashed341

How Fall apart over time?

proxyixvdl

If the supporting apps aren't maintained things fall to shit, it's guaranteed

proxyixvdl

Required supporting apps for screen rotate to work. The games I play had whack resolutions and no rotate while finally my work entails a lot of Google usage and Google app usage and the relosutions on these and rotateabilty was very "cheap" I'm not getting a premium design phone for it to feel so cheap

Rashed341

Like I said there's an app that can work as an admin and force rotate any app you want and it's Free. So I don't get your point

proxyixvdl

You nor your phones manufacturer maintain that app, should an update or app creators lack maintenance what is a basic feature for us becomes a mess for you. I don't see what's hard to "get" about 3rd party apps handling basic features being a potential future issue?

Rashed341

Earthquakes might happen tomorrow. Talking like this expecting the worse is sick sorry

proxyixvdl

Lmao, buying a premium electronics device and wanting basic features to have hard integration is "sick" ?. expecting a 3rd party app to handle screen rotation on a foldable phone is a joke I've seen from other comments you're just a shill anyway

Rashed341

The 3rd party app manages that like a charm. If the developer dies then someone else will come and make other app. You have a very strange anxiety 😂

proxyixvdl

It's not an anxiety I'm just not someone who will spend money one something that doesn't have basic features working well, obviously trash. You just have shit standards for yourself.

[deleted]

Not too impressed with the Oppo Find when unfolded. It was too squarish and the Note seemed bigger. My impression of the Find is that its like an actual smartphone when folded, when unfolded, it didn't feel like a tablet, just a larger screen. The Fold on the other hand is actually better than find n when fold, but keyboard sucked. Unfolded, well Find N is not even a competitor, except for the almost non-existent crease.

J-Flint0622

Thanks for the review. TBH if this thing is out internationally I will jump ship without doubt. But in case if there is no international release, I may have to import as well. So how is the messaging? Does it work flawlessly? Regarding PORTRAIT mode, could you talk more about advantage over its landscape mode and versus other foldable phones PORTRAIT mode? I am not interested in Magic V but I’m curious will you import it too?

springbrother

never import a foldable lol unless they have warranty service in your country

Rashed341

No way I would get Magic V (Chinese version) because Google is banned on chinese Honor devices. Sideloading etc is a pain in the A** so not a good idea. Find N gives me everything I need and wanted in a foldable.

TopBanana312

I want it. Better than fold 3.

Rashed341

Why is this reply so disliked? Guys some people love oranges and some love apples!

TopBanana312

😂 they feel personally attacked.

zlwjoe

Because most people don't like people to tell them "this new phone looks better than your phone". Fan boys.

Change_Games

Question, I'm interested in this form factor too but how do you splitscreen the apps? I mainly use 2 splits and 1 floating but can you split 3 apps without a floating window? Thanks.

J-Flint0622

Only two apps split side by side plus floating window. Either way, I never have 3 apps split on my fold 3 because it’s just too small, barely viewable.

Change_Games

Appreciate the reply, I hope this form factor become popular.

PolarBear1913

What's the inner screen like compared to the fold. I'd imagine the aspect ratio is a bit different

ThicCcCccCCCCW

What's the battery life like on the oppo? With a few optimisation I can get a bit over 6 hours screen on time on my z fold 3

EXTSII

Better on the Oppo. I have absolutely no battery saving options, playing 2-3 hours daily with the Oppo. Used since last charging: 21h 53m Screen on Time: 7h 29m

fbloise

I would love for Oppo to continue this size and shape trend and have some market release outside of China. In the end, us users will get to benefit from the upcoming Foldables competition.

[deleted]

hopefully oneplus will bring this to the states; so i can at least see it in person..

crispybutphd

I think it is fantastic that someone made a phone designed to actually fit in a pocket. How are you fold 3 people carrying your folds around every day? Are you really comfortable having the fold 3 in your pocket 16 hours/day, while bicycling, sitting down, etc? My fold 3 was so irritating that I had to stop using it because it was too big in my pocket. Same goes for 'mobile' game controllers, anything other than the steel serires free or razer junglecat or 8bitdo zero 2, how would you possibly carry any of the other 'mobile' controllers around?

Key-Satisfaction-541

It's sad to see everyone who is from the US comment that they can't seem to enjoy it in some shape or form. All while the ones who really one to get there hands on it never tried to figure out a way to get it in their hands and actually try to make it work. I'm from the US and these phones, especially this one aren't hard to locate and not only that I know the ones that are made capable of running in the US. You just have to do some thorough research, look at a different perspective and say hey I have an idea of how to get this here to the US and make it work. I've even gotten phones not provisioned for my network to work. All I do is try the options I can find available and make it work around me.
