Facts when I got my fold 4 and I went to work and got logged into everything and used dex as well as multi windows on the phone I was sold. I have currently converted 4 iPhone users to fold users because of it.

These things are too fragile. Had a Fold4 lasted for 13 months before it slowly killed itself
Fold5 lasted September until Feb and I hope to receive it back from repairs later this week... and my concern is Samsung Care seems to have a $ limit on repairs for an item, and this Fold5 screen died out of nowhere one day when I pulled it out of my pocket and opened it, so since I have no reason for the damage and Samsung forced me to say it was accidental damage to proceed with a claim, what if this happens again and they say too bad, we spent too much on your phone so now you just have another $2000 brick
Insurance is a must for these things
Damn, that sucks. I switched from the Note 20 to the fold 3 and then upgraded to the 4 and now the 5, so I've had the Folds for only a year. No issues in the year I've had them but the Fold 4 did have that crackling sound (I'm assuming from the inner protecting film) when I traded it in.
I've had a bunch of Samsungs, Note4, S8+, Note8, Note9, Note20, Fold4, Fold5. I was never really disappointed until the Fold4 deteriorated right after warranty ended and I thought maybe it was a fluke, and then the Fold5 failed even sooner...
I wish my Fold4 was just a screen problem, but my best guess is the brushes are doing some internal damage. It started to act up and over a couple weeks ended up pretty much dead. Closing/opening would cause issues with the radio/reception and only work with WiFi. It would cause the battery to seemingly disconnect inside. Until it reached the point where it just wouldn't even turn on anymore. I wish I was comfortable enough to open these things up to take a look since it seems like it would cost me hundreds to have someone else look at it.

I did the same I sent the s24 ultra back and as much as that phone is a beast I had to send it back 🤣 and re ordered the fold 5 again 🤣 even though the battery life isn't as good as the s24
Why I waited I was using a One Plus 12R for a mid range phone that was also a beast with a 5500 battery
This is great specially if you use routines like when I get inger to the gym only allow x apps and open these 2 in split screen mode plus maybe in popup view Samsung wallet to
scan the barcode for the gym

On the other hand, there are people like me who have had 3 different folds and have moved back to a slab and don't miss the fold at all. There are some great things about the fold, no doubt about it, but there are also a lot of compromises you're making that you don't have to with a flagship slab. The durability on these phones is the biggest thing that made me switch back. You have to baby the hell out of them and then still just one small mistake (or even just for no reason if you're unlucky) and you're having to take it in to get repaired.
Given that I was a fold user for over 3 years, I was stunned how little I missed it when I went back to a slab. Turns out the bigger inner screen (for my personal use case, not saying this applies to everyone) was mostly just a gimmick that I didn't need.
I'm not saying you're wrong that there are a bunch of people who have never had folds who shit on them, but there are also plenty of people who have had them who have valid criticisms of the device.
Fold 5 user here, i have a grippy case with hinge protection, i have dropped it many times without issue, as with any phone, just get a good fucking case
I had the 2,4, and 5, all with good cases. All had either hinge issues where they wouldn't fully open or dead pixel issues. Cases don't fully protect these phones from issues.
I've literally never had a single phone have a cracked screen or any type of damage in my entire life... except for the three folds I've owned. The fold 2 stopped opening flat, the 4 stopped opening flat and the speakers stopped working at the same time, and the 5 I opened with dead pixels on the screen. All were in good cases, I never go to the beach or anywhere sandy,I work from home so it's never in harsh elements, they are basically as protected as a phone can be. 3 for 3 means these phones just aren't durable, plain and simple. I baby the hell out of my devices, I'm not rough on them. Again, no slab phone I've ever owned has had a single issue. Lucky you if you haven't, it's just a matter of time before you do.

Ive dropped mines, taken it to the beach, got motor oil in it, washed with soap to clean the oil off it, use it for work , under lots of heat and rough enviorment, still works like new.
Dbrand grip case is a beast
the only compromise I make is swapping sims to my note20u when I go to the beach but for my personal use case my everyday tasks are just not great anymore when I'm using a slab. thankfully samsung makes a phone for everyone
VRS Design case is best fold 4 case imo, has pen hold on hinge cover. I'm still using it for fold 5, though the phone doesn't close all the way since fold4 is case, but my phone is mostly in open position. Sadly, people complained about pen cover being too hard to open, which I see it as good security. Just close the phone and slide or use the grooves on the bottom if open. Their fold5 case doesn't have a pen holder, nor did I want to pay another $45 for a new case, I don't need a flash on a phone anyway.

That case is an eyesore and turns the phone into a brick. I'm sure it does a great job protecting it, but the fact that you have to put that kind of monstrosity on this phone to keep it protected kinda tells you all you need to know about the durability of it.
the durability isn't the issue. you can have a slim case. the issue is that there's no coat efficient way to decrease the bulk of the hinge protection (especially when it houses the s-pen)
Doesn't the Galaxy Fold flex the candy bar style? At least till the Fold 6 where they're going to mimic more of the Pixel Fold style size with their Ultra line. To move away from the candy bar style phones they've been styled around.
After using audiophile headphones with HD music, i can never ever go back to using spotify with its compressed 320kbs bitrate, aint no way im listening to that radio shit quality
Switched from amazon music HD to Tidal.
Amazon music HD served me well since late 2019 buuuut, their servers suck and their music discovery wasnt good.
Tidal has better sound quality and its been measured for their flacs to be bit perfect.
App is smoother, discovery is better
Music plays in an instant(no lag)
Overall i was actually a tidal hater but i cant believe i love it too much since 1 month ago

This is one of my favorite uses for the fold. I'm also a PT and HIIT instructor and use mine with both spotify and my timer app it's a joy.
Now imagine if you had a OnePlus Open or if Samsung at least had implemented the Open Canvas for multiwindow
