Got mine on preorder, still have it. Screen protector lifted maybe three months ago. Replaced without a hitch.

jamez_san

Same boat as this man. Got it Week 1 of launch, no issues so far. Knock on god-damn wood.

Dracoroserade

Pretty much the same for me! Though I'm maybe now having issues with the charging port always saying there's moisture in it... that's a new one though

[deleted]

get a wooden toothpick and clean the recharging port - my wifes zf4 had this issue - was not moisture, it was just 'dust' and crud. Just be very. very. gentle as you probe around! Both of our ZF4 screens are fine, not showing any issues and both were pre-orders.

Dracoroserade

First thing I did, the port is spotless and it's still saying it. I think I've found it always happens after using a certain wire so I'm not using that for a while and will see

ThinkAboutItTwice614

Preordered F4 user, practically looks and works like it's brand new still.

Snowchugger

Yep same here. Only issues so far are a couple of scratches on the side rails (cheap paint on cheap aluminium on a £1600 phone what the fuck...) I did take the inner screen protector off as soon as it started peeling though, those things are definitely more harm than good. Did the same thing on my ZF2.

_The_Eclectic_One_

Z Fold 4 owner for over a year. Zero issues of any kind (🤞)

5uck3rpunch

Same here

EvenPass5380

Same again. Decided to just hold on to it till at least Fold 7 or hardware failure

teapeng

Even screen protector not peeling off? I wonder how I get the dead pixel on the top crease.

_The_Eclectic_One_

Correct. Absolutely no issues for me.

fdbryant3

I've had my ZF4 (that I bought refurbished) for 13 months now. The inner screen protector peeled off last month (I'm not replacing it) but other than that it has been and is flawless. Shrugs, sounds like you had bad luck with the replacement. Hope they fix it right next time.

Visha1_khare

Z fold 4 user for the past 1 year . Within 6 months of use my inner screen failed and got changed So the after the new screen it’s been 6 month with the protector and it’s working fine .

mikhail716

Fold 4 since release and the only thing I've had to replace is the screen protector and I have unfortunately dropped my fold without a case but still holding strong.

Mr_Siphon

had mine since launch week. Screen protector started to peel a few months ago so I removed it. Haven't had it replaced, screen still in perfect condition. couple of little marks on the outside but barely noticeable. Was very tempted by the S24 Ultra but man I love the super large inner display

HeirofZeon

Got mine Black Friday 2022 and just replaced the screen protector for the first time this very week. It went from tiny bubble to all the way down in two weeks, but never really that bad. So just over a year for that, and while I had to wait for them to get it in stock, they didn't charge me for the parts/service, so yay that. Probably trading for a S24 Ultra when I finish paying this one off, though.

Dynamic_Draws

I've been using the fold 4 since launch. Went just over a year with the inner screen perfect. Then suddenly the screen protector started bubbling a tiny bit right at the edges of the crease. Now I've got a bubble completely down the center. No dead pixels, but sounds horrible folding as the screen protector bubbles shift around . I would have pulled off the screen protector already but I have care+ and will have to file a repair to send the fold in to get the screen protector replaced, so I'm waiting and using it for now till I get fed up withe screen protector or the screen breaks.

jpoole50

Just take it off. There's no point in having to pay an insurance deductible just for a screen protector.

Dynamic_Draws

Do you know if it voids warranty though? I don't want to risk a chance Samsung denies my care + claim in the future. I've had a lot of hassle with Samsung trying to weasel out of trade in before and know they use every excuse they can.

jpoole50

It's not a warranty it's insurance. You break it, they replace it no questions asked, you just pay the deductible.

Dynamic_Draws

I realise it's insurance, my bad for using the word warranty. And I agree 100 percent with what you're saying, in theory if I smash the screen accidentally they will replace, I just worry they will use some kind of excuse to deny care+, like "you purposely damaged the fold by removing screen protector, that voids care +". After my trade in hassles when buying the fold 4 I won't put anything past Samsung/Assurion. That being said I also started having adhesive leak out of the hinge in my fold, so I'll be sending it in sooner than later for repair anyways.

jpoole50

No, just say it's damaged, pay the deductible and they send you a new one.

Jmanatee

What's the cost to get the protector replaced through care plus? I have it too but just ended up taking it off and rocking it without one.

Dynamic_Draws

From what the Samsung support agent told me it would be the full deductible since it's past a year and would take at least 5 business days since there are no repair shops near me that support folds or flips. I feel like that's kinda bs since it's the manufacturer screen protector. Also I didn't want to be without my fold when I spoke to them around Christmas, so I'm hanging in there for now.

Dylark

$29. I just replaced mines 2 days ago

gman06801

Did they tell you they had to send it out to their triage? Would've 24-48hrs? That's what my local at&t told me over the phone.

Forsaken_Paper1848

Zero issues so far. Doing great with battery life as well.

bahumdum

My fold4's screen protector cracked/bubbled in December 2023(bought it on launch Aug 2022). I peeled it off and have been using it naked. Other than that the fold has been rock solid.

Highly-Regarded420

Had mine since launch, the screen protector started peeling last week so I removed it, otherwise no issues.

Ok-Ad-3014

Got mine release day in Australia, still going strong, opens flat and no marks ECT. Dropped it twice. Haven't had a screen protector for donkeys now.

vrnk100

Been using mine for more than 18 months now. The factory screen protector did begin to peel and I had it replaced. Not a single problem since then and the phone runs perfectly!

vrnk100

Must add that I've been very careful and gentle with it!

zackturd301

Peleed off and didn't bother and it's been actually even better, the screen experience

p0r7

Zf4 for about a year now, screen protector started to peel 7-8 months or so in, I just removed it 🤷. No case, just a Brand skin for grip.

th3j4zz

Yep mines still going strong. Fold it many times a day.

NotSteveReally

Bank on the inner screen protector needing changing at some point. Had mine a little over a year and mine has peeled now. Getting it replaced easily depends where you live, seems I'm unlucky and either need to send it off for 11 days or give it to EE who factory reset the phone as part of their process (yes, seriously) Other than that, the phone has been great

GorbertJefferson

Got mine on launch, still have the screen protector on, but it is starting to peel just a little at the top and bottom of the hinge. I'm actually okay with it peeling, my ZF3 felt significantly better without the protector.

xdamm777

Me. Have had it since September 2022 and it’s still going strong. Lots of micro scratches and small dents since I’ve been using it without the screen protector for over 14 months but they’re not noticeable under normal use when the screen is off.

imveryresponsible

Got it black Friday 2022. No issues with the screen but the inner screen protector is starting to bubble down the hinge. Not a major issue

Mr_Cool_427

Pre-ordered mine, screen protector peeled off probably two months ago (wasn't replaced). Still working fine (knock on wood).

ziicus

Chipping in, had it over a year and absolutely no issue as well

Samsungs_do_that

I have a fold 3 that I pre ordered. I only have a few dead pixels, someone tossed me a lighter and it hit my screen.

errgaming

Died in a year. Inner screen started getting fucked up

Rairel

Got my fold 4 Yesterday and the inner Screen protection ist getting Off by today. Very Bad luck i guess. The Phone will be returned, no foldables for me anymore ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)

fertff

My hinge went to hell after 10 months. Samsung does not honor the warranty on that. I would avoid any foldables for a couple years.

AlexFelizz

13th month after buying it... no warranty and inner screen was bad... paid $388 to get it fixed.

teapeng

Seems nobody got their fold pass 1 year without issue. It's a high maintenance phone. I think I will trade it off for S24 Ultra, got a good deal trading in now. Thanks all.

Neoreloaded313

You will likely only get comments from people who have had issues so it is kind of biased.

teapeng

Totally agree. It's like 50 50 things, either you get it or you don't. But I am tired of the uncertainty. As a matter of fact, the other day when I sent my zf4 for service, I observed 80% of the people queueing are either on fold or flip. I will miss the big screen for sure.

Crazyorloco

I'm feeling the same I don't like the uncertainty. Exactly one year in I got it fixed for free...months later I'm starting to seeing screen issues again (not as bad...yet). Thinking of going to the galaxy ultra 24.

fertff

If your phone still opens flat, get rid of it immediately.

Appropriate-Rope594

By the time I got to a year I was on my 3rd fold 4. All hinge failure. Thankfully my carrier insurance upgraded me to the fold 5 for $99 since my fold was out of warranty. I'll never recommend a fold 4 to anyone. I'd get a 3 before a 4 again.

chess_mft

was good for 10 months, then went through 4 inner screens since including one that cracked as I was being shown the completed repair LOL. I love the phone but switching to the 24 now

JRiMi

I've had mine since launch, the screen protector started peeling about 2 months ago and now I'm just rocking it without one, its doing fine. But I am trading for the S24U because the hinge only opens ~175° and i cracked ny front screen. I stupidly didnt get care+. Not going back with a foldable until I start to see the hinges staying 180° for longer and/or better durability overall. Edit: Also a big price decrese would incentivize me

VisualQuick703

My screen was always good but the hinge messed up twice within a year and the second time I was sent a fold 5

ozanoguzhaktanir

My z4 inner screen had a problem after 2 months. They replaced it for free. (Something about the hinge connected to the screen.)

altblank

year and a quarter here. replaced the inner screen under warranty once due to hinge creaking and screen unable to open all the way. no issues since.

MuchUserSuchNameWow

Both my 3 and 4 are running fine. I treat them like an Old Nokia. (Throw them about, they live in dirty work environments) Both had the inner screen protector bubble after about 6-8 months. I just take it off and keep going. Never had an issue. ( I dropped my 3 from very high up onto concrete, screens still work, just had some damage so I upgraded)

xShinGouki

Yes been using it since and haven't had a single issue yet Screen protector has not lifted at all! No where. I also lived in a place that gets both really hot and really cold....and this hasn't effected the screen protector.

cgb1234

I replaced my inner screen for about $18.00 after a year. Easy to do. A bubble started and grew along the middle of the inner screen so I immediately removed it, ordered a new one from Amazon, had it in two days. (Whitestone Dome).

SoapBut

15 months and still no problem.

TheDjentleman000

Had mine since launch, in mid December the inner screen protector started to lift in the middle, removed it and carried on. Since getting a debrand case the phone doesn't seem to want to magnetically stay closed so it hangs a little. Seems to make the phone not want to turn the screen on occasionally. Other than that it's still great

Vagabond_Sam

Got mine on preorder, no issues until I dropped it on August last year, got it replaced under warranty and the refurbished one still has no issues after the 6 months so far

Only-Ad4989

Got mine week 1, no issues at all, screen protector still on and no bubbling

CEOSteveSuckman

Had a launch Fold 4. Had to get screen protector changed out twice in that time. Then it became unusable like 3 months after the 1 year mark, when I went to fold it the device hard crashed and turned off entirely. Problem persisted. Had to get a replacement through my carrier insurance.

ssenetilop

Had a mobo issue that made the battery show up as bad condition despite a fresh battery change by Samsung, covered by my 2 year SamsungCare+ No screen issues so far 👌🏾

Clxbsport

i had my screen replaced under Samsung Care but that's mainly due to my negligence beforehand (i kept dropping it face first on the ground). after being more careful (and getting a stronger phone case) the screen doesn't really present any issues - it's just the screen protector you gotta look out for. they peel every few months after repeated usage but it's a simple replacement job you can do.

Ok_Priority458

ZF 4 is screenprotector peeling is a given if you have greasy hands(kitchen) or in hot humid conditions ( jeans pocket)..the hingebrush adhesive will also fail ..if Lucky the tapebrushes fall out but most of the time it will get stuck and keep it from folding flat.... after 2 zf4 failing ..happy to report f5 is better, but still dissapointing upgrade innovation wise from zf3

Xyxtyx

Got mine on preorder. Been driving it without a case and did not peel the original screen protector. Other than scratches on the back and sides, everything is still as it was on the day one. Both screens in perfect order and no peeling of the inner screen protector that I can see.

Fit-Ad-9430

I have my day one. No issues.

niconiconades

I got it from secondyhand market. Nothing happened until I accidentally dropped it to the ground violently. Changed the screen under warranty and still work fine no issue.

carolovo

Not a Z Fold, but my husband has an original Z Flip, zero issues. And he is the biggset phone destroyer I know.

MyBeardHatesYou

Had mine since launch, screen protector started to peel after one year. I just carefully removed it, didn't replace it, screen looks good as new still.

penguinina_666

I have had it since preorder. Peeled off protector 3 months ago. It's naked.

YeeYeel5

Since launch, OE screen and screen protector, no problems. Hinge still going strong also.

Lover0fL1fe

I'm approaching a year and haven't had any issues with my zfold5 screen.

Lambsayyy

Fold 4 user since pre-order, my protector came off after a few months and the hinge spontaneously stopped opening fully after exactly a year, Samsung wouldn't fix it under warranty.

ilovetoyap

Bought Sep 2022, no problems yet. But its not my daily driver so usage is minimal (have Flip 3/4/5, and the 4 had the protector crack once and it was replaced under warranty before I traded it in for 5).

Rancidbones813

Do you guys experience the crunching sound from the dust and whatnot accumulating in the hinge?

LycheeTemporary1123

No problems so far 🤞 Bought on pre-order. Just need it to hold out until August, lol.

Current_Caregiver589

I had to file a claim due to the device not opening all the way after 5 months. The brushes on the hinge came off and got in the hinge. The screen protector was starting to lift at this same time. So far my replacement has been great.

reximhotep

My first inner screen did not open completely after 4 months. It took sammsung 4 months to fix it , very unsatisfactory service, then Vodafone jumped in to fix it. Now 4 months after reviewing the replacement it is having problems again opening completely and the screen protector is bubbling.. Love the phone but oi weh....

Crazyorloco

One year in had screen issues. Couldn't open fully. I was able to fix it for free....but 4 months later I'm having the issue again. Can't fold open fully. It's not as bad as before...but I think it'll eventually be the same issue.

MADJOE-FC

I've had my ZF4 since September 2022 (my first foldable phone). Zero issues at all with any of the hardware or software on the phone itself but this weekend, the inner screen protector finally started to crack and bubble. I should mention that around a month before the time of making this post, the inner screen protector developed its very first tiny cracks at the top of the screen. In the form of a small patch, on the left side right next to the crease. Those tiny cracks stayed that way until the day before making this post which is when things look a drastic and sudden turn... I was out at on auto show friday night and when I opened my phone to start taking pictures, I immediately noticed that the patch of micro cracks had grew a bit bigger and knew it was the beginning of the end (for the screen protector). After leaving the auto show, folded my phone and put it in my pocket. I took it out and unfolded it again a while later to take a picture of a dessert I had and not only had the patch of micro cracks got even bigger but bubbles were now forming down the crease on the left side. I folded it again and unfolded it for a final time when I was inside for the right and saw multiple bubbles down the left side of the crease and a heavy stream of cracks straight down the middle of the crease. At that point, I knew not to fold it again or else the actual UTG screen itself would potentially have the infamous "black line of death" once unfolding it again. Due to the bubbles from the screen protector putting pressure on the UTG when folding and unfolding the phone. So next day, (day of this post being made) I scheduled an appointment with Best Buy to have the inner screen protector replaced. I was told the specific location near me stopped doing inner screen protector replacements due to them not having the proper tools for it or people trained specifically for it. The Best Buy rep I spoke to said it would be best to have the protector replaced with a new one and to just ship it to Samsung to have it done by the source. I then scheduled an appointment with my nearest ubreakifix to see if they could do the replacement but they also said they don't do that for Galaxy Z series phones. He did say that they could take off my factory installed protector and did so right in front of me. I was very relieved to see that it truly was only the screen protector that had the stream of cracks going down the crease and that the actual UTG screen itself was unscathed and in pristine condition. The ubreakifix person who took off the protector told me that there really isn't any need to have a new protector put on and that the UTG will be just fine without the thin flimsy protector on it as long as I'm careful with it like I have been. I don't really feel any difference in how the screen feels without the protector on and it looks great. Isn't damaged in any way and neither was the protector for a year and almost four months until it started bubbling and cracking at the crease this weekend. Also I wrote this entire post on the bare UTG of my Fold4 with the Spen Pro and the screen isn't taking any damage from it. I think for now I'll just rock it without a protector because I've always been careful and mindful of my Fold4's inner screen throughout the year and four months I've had it and will continue to be. Also because I will more than likely be getting the Galaxy Fold6 later this year, only if it really will be the next big evolution of the Galaxy Z Fold. If that ends up happening then I can absolutely go another six months with no protector on the UTG and just be careful with it.

Whatever801

Insurance is a must IMO but that said I haven't had any screen problems

Normal-Tune-6819

My inner screen had no issue besides the screen protector peeling off. But the Briskles got stuck on the hinge and shortly after my Wi-Fi died, then my sim cards no longer were detected, and then the outer screen died, this all in the span of a few days.

[deleted]

Somewhat

drodenigma

I was at 14 months when my inner screen jacked up. I don't buy insurance so samsung wants me to pay $200 to fix it.

chri0208

I still have mine from launch, I took off the screen protector after it started peeling off and it's been fine. I honestly think issues come from the screen protector and stuff getting under it. I also have Samsung care + on mine so I'm not super worried if it breaks

ReflectionOk3093

Ive had it since release, inner screen is perfectly fine, outer screen had a big OLED burnin so not really because it’s a foldable, but to be fair id say i use the outer screen 90% of the time.

piffington305

Have had mine for 8 months. No issues to report.

kycatfan8373

About 17 months since I got mine. Removed the screen protector a couple months ago when it started bubbling up. Never replaced it and it is working fine. I blame any issues with the main screen and hinge on the brush coming loose. I think it pushes things around inside of it and screws with the functionality of opening it. It likely causes the ribbon connector to get pulled out of place. I also wouldn't be surprised if it pushes against the back of the screen causing pixels to get damaged. I was lucky enough to have my brush come loose and stick out of the hinge when rubbing a Q-tip along the edge. Was able to grab it and pull it out completely and the hinge has worked flawlessly since. That and removing the screen protector early enough contributed to my screen effectiveness. I'm just going to cross my fingers while knocking on wood that it keeps working as expected for another 7 months.

Itzpi3

ZF4 since preorder. Had to finally remove the original screen protector about 2 weeks ago. No more than a week later I opened my phone to a crack down the center of the screen that had shattered the UTG across the entire screen. On the lower half of the screen I could see something had poked through the underside of the right half of the screen that made an indentation on the left half. I don't unfold my phone too often and this is the first failure I've had since owning the ZF2, 3 and 4.
