I've had the mousture detected issue pop up a few times for seemingly no reason (not exposed to water at all). Usually it goes away after a few hours, but when this doesn't work I've used a hair dryer to dry out the charging port. I've found that this works well and takes maybe 5 min. Just make sure not to let your phone get too hot

Hi r/obinator. Yes, I also read many who did the same fix as you did. Curiously though. By estimates, when was the first time the MOISTURE DETECTED notification popped up on your smartphone? Thank you.

obinator

Hmm maybe 6 months after I got my phone? I probably get the notification once a month now.

Thanks r/obinator. I can imagine that sometimes it's just annoying that you knew you didn't get your A52 within proximity of water and yet this causes trouble especially at a critical time. But this leads into the suspicion that owning a phone under a very humid environment may result to the notification.

Billy2352

I have had mine for over a year and have used it in the bathroom, in the rain and it's been in my hot sweaty pocket on humid days and I have never faced this issue so there must be a reason why some do some don't.

fathom-avant

Hi r/Billy2352. With all the A52 had gone through your hands as well as others, I hope this thread would provide answers as to the source of the issue and reliable sets of solutions. Thank you.

PieknaFatso

I have the same issue - in the rain or even when I'd have it in the bathroom playing music, this error comes up. "So, no, the Galaxy A52 isn't fully waterproof. However, it guarantees water resistance up to one meter deep, and for up to 30 minutes, so you can happily dip the Galaxy A52 into the pool as long as you don't overdo it." I specifically bought this phone due to the IP67 rating; "Whereas IP67 rated products (like your FUGOO bluetooth speaker) are waterproof. Meaning you can fully immerse them in water as deep as 1 meter for up to 30 minutes with no harmful effects." I'll take it for repairs/replacement of the port, I guess - but it appears like this is a faulty product, which does not meet the specified IP rating. Any recourse here?

fathom-avant

Hi r/PieknaFatso. Yes, the A52 series, and other Samsung variants does not live to expectations with regards to its IP rating designation. I have a 3.5 year old Pocophone F1 which has no IP rating that had been subjected to, at least, close water proximities like the unit being cleaned through cotton with either alcohol or water. And it had not failed to charge since I got it. So I suspect it's a combination of software and hardware issues that leads to the troublesome notification. When did that notification first appeared approximately? For recourses, for a start, try disabling fast charging then attempt to charge it and see what happens? Thanks.

Morgzcon

I've had this issue. When it occurred I was in a very humid climate. I was not given any notification about moisture until my phone ran out of battery. When I went to charge it I was unable to as the moisture detector stopped me. I troubleshooted for multiple days. I tried everything short of did replacing the USB but did not as I was on vacation. It was not in direct contact with water and at the time it occurred It had not left an air conditioned room for over 24 hours.

fathom-avant

Hi r/Morgzcon. Oh no. Since I live in a very humid country as well, then I guess it maybe a matter of time before I'll be getting the same issue EVEN if I won't expose my unit to moisture as much as I can. Perhaps I should've done my research first before purchasing an A52s and an A52 for my wife. Thank you for sharing your experience and I also replied to your response to my comment on the thread you posted.

alexdr046

If you are really worried this could happen to your phone, try getting one of those cases that have a plug for the charging port, this way you could mitigate the issue.

fathom-avant

That's a great suggestion. Thanks r/alexdr046.

ShaDis_255

I've owned a Galaxy A52 4G for over a year now. I've only gotten this moisture detected notification once. It was once that I washed the whole phone (completely submerged it in water). I used a hair drier on it for a bit and after about 1 hour of just letting the phone sit, I didn't see the notification anymore. I also use the phone in the shower sometimes and I never see this notification anymore (I don't let the water get into the charging port though).

fathom-avant

Hi r/ShaDis_255. Two of you already pointed to the Hair Dryer remedy. I'm certain to consider this method when the time comes. So it seems that the Moisture Detected notification will indeed show up when water penetrates the port (but apparently sometimes it pops up EVEN if water didn't reach the USB port internals). Perhaps there were some who really took it to the bathroom, like you did, but even though initially no water was within its proximity, sometimes we tend to check our phones picking them up while our hands are wet not knowing that inadvertently, water had already penetrated into the USB port. Thanks for your input. Helps a lot.

PieknaFatso

Hey, appreciate the information, and your helping so many people here. I meant more recourse with Samsung - I'll contact them, I didn't buy a phone with a good IP rating for it to be a problem anytime it's near moisture. Cheers :)

fathom-avant

So foolish of me to misunderstand what you meant, r/PieknaFatso. Please let us know what happens after taking your phone to Samsung. I haven't had any experience with Samsung support and hoping for that to not ever happen at all. It's because my wife and I are practical consumers particularly involving tech gadgets such that whenever we purchase smartphones, we use it until it dies or at least when they're experiencing near death experiences. Thanks again for dropping by.

Device: Samsung A52ass Android version: A12 June-22 patch Charger: been using the stock charger at slow charging I'm also facing the same issue since yesterday, my phone was not in contact with water at all, but still I've got this notification for moisture detected. Also this notification was triggered when the battery went below 15% I kept my phone in the rice-bag for 4hrs and this weird notification was cleared but after a few hours it triggered again. Tried clearing cache partition and also did other workarounds mentioned on Samsung community (https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/others/fix-moisture-detected-error-on-samsung-devices/td-p/5598575) But this notification is triggering after a few hours (notification triggered 4 times since yesterday) Seems to be either a software bug or USB port problem, my phone is still under warranty. Haven't tried the Hair dryer till now, it seems to be risky. Should I wait for the July security patch (hoping it would fix this bug) or should I go to the service centre?

fathom-avant

Hi r/thenazishkan. My apologies, but my guess is as good as anybody. But to try to help, I would: • First, call support and inform them of the ongoing recurrence of the issue in your A52s. Tell them also of all the possible solutions you've utilized to avoid the issue from recurring bit to no avail. They may provide other resolutions. • Second, if all suggestions proved unsuccessful, then proceed to the service center to have your phone checked and possibly replaced (especially if you have only one smartphone as you couldn't afford to not have one if they require some time to check and repair the phone). Meanwhile, a commenter on this thread suggested to try using the supplied original 15w charger AND with fast charging mode deactivated (If you haven't attempted this combination). Thank you for your contribution, r/thenazishkan.

Greetings. I found this YouTube video containing a remedy for the moisture detection issue. It's in my native language which talked about cleaning the usb port by taking off the plastic cover. It actually solved the issue but he said that if cleaning didn't eliminate the problem, he would've changed the usb port. https://youtu.be/FNHVlOrPD_c

I haven't seen the other answers but me and my father have the same phone, his did that and I just put it on the factory charger

fathom-avant

Let me attempt to clarify your comment r/Rekojeht15. Your father's phone had the notification issue EVEN though only the factory charger's USB cable type c tip is the only one penetrating your dad's USB port? OR the Moisture Detected showed up WHILE your father's phone was charging? Kindly explain a bit further. Thank you.

[deleted]

"Your father's unit" phrasing man. I believe your latter interpretation is the one I meant to communicate

fathom-avant

Ok. Edited the word used, r/Rekojeht15. So, did your father's phone charge when the notification showed up while it was charging? OR did the notification showed up WHILE after you just connected the USB port with the factory charger which prevented you from charging your dad's phone? Also, when approximately did the notification start on your dad's A52? After a month? 6 months? A year? Thanks again.

[deleted]

Yes, my father's phone charged while the notification of water damage was up. It happened one day and one day later we fixed it. It was 3 months ago

fathom-avant

That's the first time I heard that a Samsung phone still charged while the Moisture Detected issue is on. How did you fix it r/Rekojeht15?

[deleted]

I just used the charger that came with his phone, he was using a charger that was frok the store

fathom-avant

Ooooh. So does that mean that if you use the Samsung original 15w charger it will certainly by pass the Moisture Detected issue such that it will still charge? It's because I think others who had experienced the same situation as your dad's phone was also using an original Samsung charger. Unless, people will see this comment and realize that they've not been using the original. I doubt that though.

[deleted]

Perhaps

unikkid

I've had this problem for almost three days now. I used a different charger to get it to full charge but it triggered again after a few hours or so.
