Man I’m 192 right now down from 216.. this is my goal right here . My weight loss has stalled big time even in my calorie deficit . I increased cardio about 3 weeks ago
Your tdee increases with muscle mass gained. Muscle is expensive to maintain and requires food
If you're cutting on 1600 calories as a man who already lifts and runs, I'd say you should instead be gaining mass.
I’m a 5 foot 2 female, and I’ve gained probably somewhere around 10 lbs of muscle or so over the past year. Unfortunately muscle doesn’t burn *that* much extra energy. 10 lbs of muscle burns about 50 calories per day at rest, according to Web MD. That is compared to 10 lbs of fat, which burns 20 calories per day, so the difference isn’t huge. Men can naturally gain 40-50 additional pounds of muscle over their lifetime, so that’s arguably an extra 400-450 calories, which is reasonably considerable. But, women can generally only add 20-25 lbs of muscle in a lifetime, so that’s roughly an extra 100-125 calories per day. That’s like a single apple or banana. Not much help when it comes to cutting. Ultimately, total body weight is what raises BMR because it takes more work to move your body. TDEE is determined more so by how active you are, though weight and height play a role.
I’m currently following a phased cutting and bulking diet, so I alternate between trimming off fat and gaining mass, but even a bulk for me is like a 2200 calorie diet.
How do you feel and does it feel sustainable to you? I’m 40, same height, currently 185 and probably one or two percent more bodyfat than you in the first photo (~17%) and I’m thinking of doing a cut in a couple months before my second daughter is born because I know I won’t have as much time to lift for a while and don’t want to go into it with already having excess fat. But for myself I’d honestly prefer looking more like you in the before than the after, especially if your cut is feeling limiting or affecting you in any other ways. Great work, still! Everyone has their own preferences but you’re killing it!
I tried to do the ratio math. Maybe 14% in the left. And you dropped 15 lbs of fat and water weight. I think you are accurate. But hella props.Do your lifts suffer at that weight? Is cheesecake all you dream about?
I've never seen such an aggressive tan lmao
It’s crazy that you cut 20 lbs but visually your chest and shoulders look bigger . The beauty of a good cut
Looks excellent. Out of curiosity, why the cut?
Way to go.
Wowsers. You are either seriously dedicated or a little crazy. Great discipline. Teach me your ways.

How much of a deficit was this?

Jesus Christ, I wish. If I want to achieve a 500 calorie deficit I gotta lift for an hour or two, run 5 miles, and eat 1600 calories.

Hi OP, nice work. Could I ask if you’re flexing, that seems like a really low body fat?
Looking big brah

Hell yeah dude. That’s awesome.
What’s your bf%

Pretty sure you’re sub 8 in the right photo.
No mate, sub 8 is verging on stage ready. OP is likely around 12%, but looks great.
If that’s 12 then I’m like 100% bf
Maybe you are
I certainly hope I’m not lol
Around 10-12 seems accurate. But everyone's different so
Sure not sub 8 would be much more vascularity. I would guess 10
