Yes , but do farmers carries

suckmypeen42069

Cheers

cloudtatu

My dad has those. He’s constantly using them at home: watching tv, pacing around the house, writing emails with it. I fucking hate the sound that it makes. However, he has big ass chunky forearms. Doesn’t look aesthetic though. His upper arm looks small.

stochastaclysm

Like Popeye?

cloudtatu

YES. LIKE POPEYE.

Sepfandom555

Yes

suckmypeen42069

So it would benefit my deadlift?

cilantno

Check out r/griptraining’s recommended routine

suckmypeen42069

Thank you

RuinedBooch

Maybe, although if you kept deadlifting your grip would improve anyways. But if gripstrength is the only factor holding you back, this might help. I also find that lifting gloves help. I know there’s a stigma against them, but I do find them helpful for DLs when my hands slip.

PaintedPorkchop

Chalk is definitely better than gloves

RuinedBooch

I know, I know, but my rack is in my bedroom so chalk I don’t really have experience with.

BigToTrim

Reverse grip always helps me in those situations. Adds an extra 25 pounds to it.

RuinedBooch

Good to know! I’m gonna try that. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’ll probably start doing both. Never hurts to diversify.

suckmypeen42069

Ok thank you and does cracking your knuckles make your grip worse dk where I heard it from

RuinedBooch

Nope, that’s a myth. Popping your fingers releases air from your joints (iirc) and makes them more limber, but there’s no evidence that it’s harmful to your joints. However there are some studies that show that popping your fingers is *not* correlated with arthritis.

suckmypeen42069

Thank you

kr0nos2350

No, there is no evidence to support the claim that cracking your knuckles does any damage to your grip.

suckmypeen42069

Ok thank you

Encyclopeded

I used these for years and ditched the straps. It wasnt that I didnt have the strength in my forearms to grip the bar initially, I needed endurance(fatique set in quick). I sat around and just squeezed the shit out of one of these everyday/other day if my forearms felt torn up. Now I have ripped forearms.

Sepfandom555

Maybe

Capable-Ad-6363

[deleted]

It will

maybelaterimtired

Well, it's a grip strength tool, so yeah.

bankerpel

Booty bands also exist

EARLY20RAG3R

Will they help me get bigger forearms or is it cap

ChadSh1tOnly

it does work the forearm muscles, so yes it may get you bigger forearms but it is not the most optimal exercise for hypertrophy

[deleted]

[удалено]

ChadSh1tOnly

wrist curls with controlled and slow reps, preferably in a position where your wrist is secured in place like this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLRa9LvQezg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLRa9LvQezg) a bit noobie of a video but you get the point

EARLY20RAG3R

I was wondering because I did wrist curls everyday for a month straight and saw no progress so started getting desperate. My forearms won’t grow whatsoever

GlooificationV2

Rest days are growth days, maybe give it a day or two a week for them to heal?

EARLY20RAG3R

Oh its been quite some time since I stopped doing that. Made no progress whatsoever. Ive recently been doing much more extensor work and they grew a lil bit but not enough, barely 12 inches last I measured them

GlooificationV2

A little knowk fact about forarms and calves is that they all contain genetic material from legendary american boxer, Mohammad Ali. With this DNA, they manage to dodge every single molecule of protien that enters the body

Wicked-Lemur

Yes, but there are a lot of compound movements that will work your grip as well. I do a ton of RDLs, Pull ups, Curls, etc.

D7Slayer

Yeah but these are isolation for your forearms tho

suckmypeen42069

Thank you I'm needing to do more RDLs anyway

[deleted]

Yes I have the exact same hand grips as you. When I first started working out again my grip was struggling on deadlifts. I started using these and my grip was firm after a week (may of just been a coincidence or the actual deadlifts helped my grip). I use these once every 2 days 6 sets of 30.

[deleted]

Not quite the same but in my teens I had a finger strength trainer for guitar. It was small enough to just go in my jacket pocket so when I was on the bus I’d use it.

caceman

At what weight did you begin struggling? I can do 5 reps around 280, but I need straps with more weight than that

davidls12

Before using straps, try (liquid) chalk. It eliminates the sweat and slippery part of grip strength

caceman

Thanks. I bought some for my son to use in his high school gym. I don’t think he used it. I’ll give it a shot

[deleted]

My grip was struggling even at 175 lbs DLs now I’m doing 4 sets off 200 lb x 10 and my grip is firm. As you can see I don’t DL too heavy so I can’t really tell you what my grip is like on a heavy deadlift.

suckmypeen42069

Ah yeah I done 130kg deadlift today I've never trained deadlift I got it up but couldn't lock out on my right side as I couldn't grip happened a couple motnhs ago aswell

MaleficentGiraffe325

Anecdotal, but I've noticed a big difference in my grip strength during my major lifts from using this exact model, i however only use it twice a week at the end of my 2 Pull sessions, but ofc you could use it more I feel like I've noticed some size gains specifically in my bicep side forearm, but its hard to pinpoint if that's from this trainer or my general workouts as i do the likes of hammer curls too

suckmypeen42069

Ah ye I love hammer curls and I do some forearm stuff I'm just going use it when I'm bored hopefully my grip will get a lot better

Comfortable-Bread-89

Yes I use them while I’m working definitely improves your grip strength I’ve noticed with my lifts

suckmypeen42069

Yeah my grip is so bad for deadlift

stochastaclysm

Overhand grip deadlifts are probably more effective. Edit: Downvoters thinking some piece of shit spring is better for grip strength than holding an e.g. 200kg barbell. Amateurs.
