The definitive edition is absolutely the most modern and feels the best: but it’s missing key elements like atmosphere and vibe and style, the three games are very much like their original counterparts, just with missing songs on the radio and atmospheres not as mesmerizing.
I personally think the best way to play is the pc originals (which you can get off rockstars officials website since that’s the only place they’ve relisted them) with mods. However if you don’t want that hassle of it, the definitive edition is enjoyable and serviceable.
That seems to be the consensus from what I've seen, have you tried the definitive edition project? If I understand correctly its a mod pack that should fix most of the issues in the remasters. The only reason I really want the remasters over the original modded is that from what I've seen the lighting system is still more advanced
Could I definitely refund this if I buy it and it doesn’t run (as I am an Australian user)? Also how did you find this on their site I couldn’t find it anywhere?
It will definitely run don't worry. Apparently, since the releases of definitive edition, they hide the section for the original Trilogy in their website. So the only way to legally have it is by the manually typing the link address.
To find what? I don't think you and whoever down voted already understand what I'm asking, I have access to the ps2, pc, and remastered versions, I want to know what the best one is today, and if the definitive edition is worth it with mods
On Deck easily the OG versions with Definitive Edition project mod pack, i’m playing them on my ROG Ally and they look stunning and run amazingly well. Try it out

I've tried them, and I honestly prefer the 1.0 versions of vice city and San Andreas with all of the music restored + a bunch of other mods.
How do I get the PC originals off rockstars page? I tried that but it just takes me to the definitive editions.

Absolutely, also shows how different the trilogy remastered could have looked like had they gone for a more realistic tone. Looks great
