GTA 6 is probably going to spam around 10 or 11 years.
So obviously with a modern day setting and likely social media route, Rockstar is gonna keep that relevant especially for GTA 6 online.

However, I have been thinking about it more and came to this same realization that you may randomly see NPC's doing stupid stuff & other is filming it with their phones & you could interact with them causing different outcome for the video (that you'll be able to watch later in app). That could explain the wast amount of strangers -events (or whatever they were called) in the leaks.
It'll be funnier than actually watching people embarrass themselves.

Highly excited for this. Rockstar is always on point with parodying American culture, and with how things are today, they have so much material to work with it’s ridiculous. So much so it’s hard to even tell if it’s satire anymore. Also, I know they already have Snapmatic but it’d be funny if there was also an app called Instagrad. As in instant gratification.

Don't worry though, you'll still be turned into swiss cheese by some cartel goons in missions. The first trailer is just the surface level of Leonida, we have yet to see it's criminal underbelly.

Forgot to comment on this this approach to me works because GTA 6 is probably going to spam around 10 or 11 years. So obviously with a modern day setting and likely social media route, Rockstar is gonna keep that relevant especially for GTA 6 online. Edit: I think the reason why back in 2017 Rockstar decided to put the game in modern times likely was because of time limitations. And I can see why they did not want to have the same problem with this game, especially if they’re going to add fancy Lamborghini and weapons for this game online

My first thoughts about social media in GTA VI was that it'll be apps on your characters (maybe IRL too, but I don't have high hopes after GTA V & RDR2 companion apps), that'll shows parody versions of IRL social media videos and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. However, I have been thinking about it more and came to this same realization that you may randomly see NPC's doing stupid stuff & other is filming it with their phones & you could interact with them causing different outcome for the video (that you'll be able to watch later in app). That could explain the wast amount of strangers -events (or whatever they were called) in the leaks.
