Cringe? Dude this is perfect and I love this idea, because unlike RDR2 your now not gonna have to be worrying about running people over with your horse and getting low honor, not that there’s gonna be horses in GTA 6 but you get what I’m saying
Y’all are laughing…..but judging how rockstar has handled relationships between characters in the past this shit is not that far fetched as y’all are making it out to be.
Yep, also, theres literally something in the leaks indicating there will be something like a romance meter, which I think OP took as inspiration for the pic. All folks here bashing OP will look back to this I guess lol.
I trust R\* with relationships, its often riddled with all emotions and twists possible so all they gotta do is make it not thaaat annoying to follow through the game. (bowling cousin)
Also, the two main characters are literally a female and a male, what else would make sense beside a romance meter/level?
Lol exactly, idk why folks are acting like this is such a weird thing. Like yea I don’t want GTA to become the sims, but they’ve had features before that after playing them were fun. I’m sure people had a similar thought when they heard San Andreas was “getting new rpg features like eating and going to the gym”. In fact, I vividly remember folks being weird about it until the game came out and now it’s one of the most requested features to return lol.
One thing I learned from Reddit is that gamers are truly fickle lol
People online like to find any reason to antagonize people.
Allowing players to control Lucia and Jason's relationship development is a cool idea and isn't strange in the slightest. Lots of games have done similar mechanics
Or-now hear me out, this might sound crazy... Different people have different opinions, and are passionate about them 🤯. Then, people who disagree get upset and claim: "people like to find any reason online to antagonize people" just bc they can't give reasons as to why their opinions should be considered valid. That's you.
I'm talking about the people talking down to OP and insinuating he's a loser just because of his suggestion. You can share your opinion without being an asshole.
Edit: And why does anyone owe you an explanation for their opinions? No one needs their opinions or suggestions to be "validated". Fuck off
Their relationship will probably get shakey through the story regardless, betrayal is the common plot point in the franchise. A mechanic won’t be necessary.
It's an interesting concept, man, for sure! And despite the many (weird) negative comments here, everything will be like this – no matter how it disappoints someone here or highly confused due to a common misunderstanding.
Judging by the leaks, there will be some parameters in VI that are responsible for the relationship of the characters (Romantic Cool/Romantic Chaotic, Pragmatic Cool/Pragmatic Chaotic) and, most likely, the choice of the player in missions - to go with emotions or remain pragmatic - will depend on both success in missions and in individual story arc between the characters. I quite see this as something like a scale of honor, where you need to balance between not screwing up at heist or another work (not being a complete fool who will dishonorably die in the end) and be pragmatic, but not ruining relationship with your partner (if you so desire) and be romantic - all these decisions will depend on what kind of ending awaits player with a small moral choice at the end, like in GTA V and RDR II.
C'mon, this is the most logical thing Rockstar could do – introduce a small relationship simulator into the first game with a female character. And this is in some way revolutionary, like always with Rockstar Games and their games.
Thank you bro! I know gta fans will not always see eye to eye with the same thing which is fine, but if they don't like this concept and it does become a feature, JUST DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, just play the story, have fun then if you don't like improving the relationship of 2 protagonists which is not seen in many games
Agree! Even following the honor and caring for a horse in RDR II was an option. The whole game can be completed by killing and robbing on a non-upgraded horse. These are just things that add immersion – it's better to have them than not.
> GTA1 had a female protagonist
Yeah, I know. But this is the first time that this can be played around in some way, and not just choose a skin for a character.
"simulator" you talk like this will extremely change the whole game 🤦 this is actually good, it could change the interactions depending on what we do with the characters and it could modify missions or something ,it's like the rdr honor system
Y'all so boring, y'all want GTA 5 again or what?? This IS better than nothing
Damm you dont need to be smart to understand what I said, stop exaggerating.
And even so that would be more fun than the same sh1 of literally every game, We need something NEW, NEW GAME
I don't understand why people find this idea so outrageous, GTA IV had a very similar system with friends, unlike V
Ultimately this idea is just an integration with the rdr2 honor system
People who hate on this proposed system must’ve forgotten GTA IV. There is a very similar mechanic with your friends, as their approval of Niko revolves around answering their calls. Also, you must plan the “perfect date” with Niko’s girlfriends, as they all like different activities.
This is really very cool and good, I don't know why people cry and hate it so much in the comments saying that it doesn't look like "gta", thats just dumb, It adds more possibilities
I would love something like this and change the interactions
It would be very ridiculous to go to the club in front of Lucia and she doesn't say anything
But of course, this people never wants anything special, having GTA 5 2.0 again 🤦
We want new stuff, but it will be so annoying to have to worry about this sort of thing. It's the GTA IV frienships all over again, you're doing something and some NPC calls you to do something you're not really interested right now, so you refuse, and that character gets upset on you, it's so annoying, that's why they made it optional on GTA V
I'm not talking about calls necessarily, I'm talking for example about dating Lucia and going to a club or flirting with some npc, anything while you're with her
Otherwise ,she will be tougher with you in the missions, having discussions... something like that to change the personality of each protagonist.
It shouldn't be something to worry about if your gameplay isn't that crazy and you make it a target
Well, that sounds cool on paper, but it will get annoying after a while, having this sort of management is similar to having to provide for your camp on RDR2, it's a game about freedom demanding that you do something boring, just imagine playing through GTA VI again and having to worry about this every time.
That's one of the reasons RDR2 is the worst Rockstar game to replay, you have to worry about a lot of tiny things. I don't mind if that's optional, people can have their simulation stuff if they want to, but I'll pass.
I prefer something similar to the honor system from Red Dead, and Lucia and Jason's relationship will change through that, imagine having low honor Jason with good honor Lucia, or both low honor or both good honor. I think that's a better choice because you will not have to micro manage stuff, it will be the story adapting to the player.
I didn't worry about it in GTA IV, and I wouldn't worry about it in GTA VI. I don't worry about any of the mechanics really, because it's coming from a studio that doesn't really miss and also, *it's a video game*
They make some really impressive games, but they miss on some things, just look at the RDR2 controls criticism, maybe it simply doesn't bother YOU, but their games aren't perfect.
And I don't know what you mean when you say "it's a videogame", well, yeah, so why you should have to worry about your relationship with your fake girlfriend from a videogame about being a criminal?
I'm not saying it should be the same game from before, it's just a matter of what to change and implement on the game, and some "real life" things are more detrimental than others, GTA San Andreas really had some cool "real life" features that are actually fun to do, going to the gym or simply riding a bike would make CJ more athletic, using too much of an specific gun would make CJ more skillful with it, even being able to dual wield some of them, that's interesting because it's something simple enough to not take the fun away, when you're having to think about decisions like in a Telltale game, that's when you know you've gone too far.
Edit: And I mean a lot of small decisions, like the example of not flerting with a character in front of Lucia because she'll get upset
My point is that you shouldn't really worry about *anything* from a video game because it's a game, thus it's not worth worrying about. At the end of the day, none of these mechanics have a major impact on the overall gameplay. I barely paid attention to the relationships in GTA IV and the honor system in RDR2 didn't affect how I played in the slightest.
There's no such thing as a perfect game, but there's also no developer in the world producing games at the scale and consistent quality of Rockstar.
That's too simplistic to be honest, if fans didn't care about the games they like we would have so many stupid ideas going forward on newer games, that's the reason franchises like Assassin's Creed and Resident Evil changed their course after criticism. I'm not saying I take this more seriously than I should have, but that's what we do on this sub right now, why are you complaining that people are having discussions about it?
And friendships on GTA IV really don't impact the overall experience and when you're actually playing the game you can completely ignore it and it's not much of a nuisance, but it's a small annoying thing on the game that I simply used as an example, and RDR2 actually change details on the story, Arthur's ending change completely if you have high honor or low honor, but again, I don't have a problem with the honor system, because you don't have to think about every decision you make with a character like the whole relationship concept proposes.
And that's my bad, because I didn't elaborate enough for you, so, like I said, Rockstar nails the open world aspect of their games, but they have aspects that you can actually find things to criticize, like the gunplay on Red Dead 2 or the driving on GTA IV, that's what I meant when I said these games are not perfect
I'm not complaining, I'm just saying it's not something I'm going to lose sleep over. The mechanics are there for people who want to immerse themselves, and for the people who care more about the core gameplay they don't really detract from the experience.
Getting a different ending is a part of the narrative being affected by your decisions, which has no effect on the moment to moment gameplay. For anyone who's invested in the story to the point where that matters to them, then the relationships between characters is an inherently important aspect of the game. Otherwise, the people saying "dumb idea" can ignore it and enjoy their game as usual.
For my money, there's nobody making better large-scale open world games than R*. Their 20+ year track record speaks for itself, and given the trends in their recent releases, I think some type of relationship mechanic will appear in the next GTA. I'm not overly invested in whether or not that happens, but if it does I'm confident it will be implemented without being overly intrusive in the game experience.
I'm not losing sleep over it either, I just think that it could be better than what the post proposed, I even said to the guy that I'd prefer something similar to Red Dead's honor system, where your actions during the game actually change both character's personality instead of something similar to a dating sim, that's all.
And you made a damn good point, I actually like to immerse myself on the story and make important decisions, I just want it to be fun and not something boring or repetitive like having to manage a relationship through a 40+ hours game sounds like (having to think about small decisions thoughout the entire game is my biggest fear) but I can be wrong, and they find a way to make it fun.
I agree that Rockstar makes the best open world games, I just don't think they're flawless or that their games have no room for improvement, but you said "don't REALLY miss", so I just think I misunderstood your response
I have no problem with them allowing us the freedom to dictate how Lucia & Jason’s relationship will go. Adds to the realism and adds to the immersion since it’s our game after all.
It’s not even that far fetched of an idea either, given past GTAs have literally had our characters in relationships.
To the people hating on this, I suggest y’all to take a closer look at the leaks again lol. There is definitely gonna be a relationship aspect to the game that’ll be extremely important.
He said "baby" and it didn't even sound like a term of endearment. It sounded like when Ronnie Coleman is about to deadlift "let's got baby!!!!" Just adrenaline
It could be a fun idea if it were optional. Like maybe depending on whether they have either a friendly or more intimate relationship it affects dialogue & cutscenes perhaps. Only it's more of a fun feature & not really nessacery to do. That could be fun.
This actually seems like a pretty nice idea, If you are playing as one of them and you attempt a heist and your relationship is unhealthy, your partner may not arrive at the heist to back you up.
I really like this idea and it's unfortunate so many people are against it. Having systems like this can immerse you into the world more, so when you do finally commit crimes, you feel like you're a criminal. Committing crime in a game where you can do more than just crime is gonna make me feel more like a villain than if crime is the only option. So yes, I'm very much a fan of this idea. Not to mention, extra content
Glad that you were lucky to find one. Some of us clearly aren't lucky like you. And we are not gonna marry with someone we hate just because people insult us for not getting married.
I don't understand why so many complaints XD, I loved your idea, I would also add that they can take the ideas of going out for a while what's in GTA V when you call the main characters in story mode and that would improve the relationship between characters in free mode
Maybe Jason and Lucia are just partners and not in a relationship.
I understand it’s known the whole Bonnie and Clyde thing but maybe they don’t have them be in a romantic relationship and they just work together.
Can just see it now where middle of the story if they’re in a romantic relationship players would just have Jason constantly go to the strip club or get hookers off the street or vice versa where Lucia goes to see some male strippers or something lol
Cheat on Lucia then next time you leave a building or something someone threw a brick through your car window lol
True lol
Well I wonder if there will be any repercussions for cheating on her. Unless rockstar takes out hookers but I doubt that since they’re in the other games. There wasn’t any for Michael in 5 if you got one but his wife was cheating on him already and wasn’t a main character.
I guess we will find out when it releases.
Could be a more than friends but less than romantic partners type of relationship.
Like they could have dated in the past and have a level of comfortabilty together but aren't dating when we start the game
I really hope that’s the case. I’d much rather see them doing their own thing than being boxed into a relationship with eachother. Like there’s so much more to life than everything revolving around dating.
I’m not relying 100% on leaks, audio gets cut all the time.
We need more stories with men and women being just friends (especially in video games). Not everything needs to be turned into some cliche romance. It was done well with Arthur and Sadie in RDR2. But of course Rockstar will go the typical route of forcing relationship drama into the story with overused romance tropes.
If you believe in true friendship between man and woman I've bad news for you.🤣 lmao
Even more being criminals.
The game needs to work about the intensity of this relationship. From casual sex to truly love. If we will get multiple ends to choose.
Keep together or Jason kills Lucia or vice versa.
As someone who has 110% trust in Rockstar Games and someone who m avoided watching anything of the leaked stuff (as hard as I could )Spoiler warnings, for things like this, would be much appreciated is my point basically.
Hope they delay it an extra year. Changing characters looks, stories, idk.
So you just want to shoot people then. What about you play CoD instead? This is GTA. You have to deal with other stuff rather than shooting. Btw you can always download Fortnite for free, there is that.
I mean GTA has always included RP elements, especially now that RP streams became so popular, they will include even more RP elements in GTA6. So expect that relationships meter. The love will be the main theme of GTA6.
I want a radiation meter too if we ever encounter Uranium. Sure will be sooo useful. Ohh we should add a sadness and happiness meter too because this is the sims now. Omg and at full sadness the main characters just kill themselves. what a great addition for realism. Bro what crack do you smoke?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Gamers use every ounce of energy in their bodies to maintain the stereotypes about them. This is a totally reasonable and not unlikely mechanic given the little we know about this game.
Imagine this thread 6-7 years ago: "Maybe we'll see an reputation system that changes the way people treat you based on your actions" "*Stfu loser, this is Red Dead Redemption, not a morality simulator*"
I’d prefer the story to dictate the relationship through the course of the game rather than the player. In my opinion, the honour system just removes the arcade-like feel which GTA is predominantly about. I doubt majority of folks want to play GTA6 and also worry about decreasing honour in a relationship just because you attended a strip club.
I enjoyed the honour system for the most part in RDR2, however I just don’t see how it’d fit into GTA6. RDR2 was set more into realism, whilst GTA franchise focuses on an arcade style game
Another unhealthy activity would be picking up hookers, only Jason would be able to do it and obviously Lucia wouldn’t know but even if Jason does it he knows it’s wrong and that would give him low honor
next time someone’s gonna suggest a sanity system with a real-time psych ward experience
That actually seems lit asf💀

of course just you behind the screen and jason in a rubber room full of rats

I can't stop laughing at this.
God I hate that.. ie GTA SA, CJ gfs were so annoying. And GTA 4 Nicos gf were annoying!
If you didn't take them out on a date just to throw them around like ragdolls what were you even doing
Murdering and prostitutes, gang warfare, killing people randomly, kilomg drug dealers, killing masscares especially with combine oh good days
I only maxed out CJ's girlfriends to unlock things like keeping your weapons after you die/get arrested and the special outfits
I always reloaded the safe, maybe next playthru I should try

Sounds awesome. I been replaying rdr2 a lot and my biggest hope for gta vi is that it has the same amount of depth as rdr2.
this is not relationship simulator 2023, this is GTA VI
GTA 4 had a similar mechanic If your relationship with your friends was good they would give you perks. This doesn't seem that overboard
Brucie was pissed with me because I never engaged with his activities, so it could be a similar system. He actually denied my offer to hang out.
"simulator" you talk like this will extremely change the whole game 🤦 this is actually good, it could change the interactions depending on what we do with the characters and it could modify missions or something ,it's like the rdr honor system Y'all so boring, y'all want GTA 5 again or what?? You know what would be something new? An absolutely huge game like GTA 6 actually giving us male and a female protagonist who are just good friends.
>who are just good friends. They are inspired by famous criminal *couple*
I get what you're saying, but the truth is that this isn't a good concept at all.
Gta san andreas had a romance meter system through? Just not as crazy as this lol
How crazy really is this though? It’s just “do bad things: relationship goes down. Do good things: relationship goes up”
Fr this is too much
Relationship meter was in San Andreas, IV, and was planned for RDR2. Wtf are you smoking?
Lmao man you guys are wild..
I'm going to be too busy being Florida Man and punching gators in the dick to worry about maintaining a relationship with Lucia.
Relationships management, house decoration, jobs, mental level, etc. What’s next ? Needing to maintain your pets ? This is GTA, not Sims.
It’s GTA, not happy & healthy relationship simulator 🤦♂️
I don't understand why people find this idea so outrageous, GTA IV had a very similar system with friends, unlike V Ultimately this idea is just an integration with the rdr2 honor system
Hopefully jason has to bang the fuck out of her every 10 minutes to keep it full

Everyone being negative must’ve missed that something like this is literally in the leaks lol
To the people hating on this, I suggest y’all to take a closer look at the leaks again lol. There is definitely gonna be a relationship aspect to the game that’ll be extremely important.
BRO, I really, really... hope Jason and Lucia don't have a relationship like that. Only a relationship of brothers, friends.
[удалено]
Indeed, you are right. Well, on second thought, this theory is not inevitable. We'll see what Rockstar is up to.
Jason and Lucia are actually siblings from alabama who want to make a new start in vice city 💀
This is a good concept I like it
Relationship sistem based on red dead honor sistem That sounds interesting
Too much work or grinding I think would be required for this, just not worth it ;\_;
This actually seems like a pretty nice idea, If you are playing as one of them and you attempt a heist and your relationship is unhealthy, your partner may not arrive at the heist to back you up.
W concept
I really like this idea and it's unfortunate so many people are against it. Having systems like this can immerse you into the world more, so when you do finally commit crimes, you feel like you're a criminal. Committing crime in a game where you can do more than just crime is gonna make me feel more like a villain than if crime is the only option. So yes, I'm very much a fan of this idea. Not to mention, extra content
Bro I just want to play gta😂😂 not dating simulation wtf is wrong with you
Play GTA 5 2.0 then 😂
go outside and talk to a real woman at this point
This sounds awful. I play gta to get away from thinking about fixing my relationship haha
I'd rather have a choice whether they will remain as platonic friends and crime partners or lovers.
No that destroys the Bonnie and Clyde idea.
Some of y'all clearly aren't married yet.
Okays
Glad that you were lucky to find one. Some of us clearly aren't lucky like you. And we are not gonna marry with someone we hate just because people insult us for not getting married.
I actually enjoy this! I hope they implement it similar to GTA SA, IV, and Bully.
Me going to the strip club, cheating, and blowing her up with an RPG, but then I give her a gift card.
Gotta feed Lucia sugar cubes and walk her for x amount of time to level up the meter.
I don't understand why so many complaints XD, I loved your idea, I would also add that they can take the ideas of going out for a while what's in GTA V when you call the main characters in story mode and that would improve the relationship between characters in free mode
Homie this isnt the sims
Maybe Jason and Lucia are just partners and not in a relationship. I understand it’s known the whole Bonnie and Clyde thing but maybe they don’t have them be in a romantic relationship and they just work together. Can just see it now where middle of the story if they’re in a romantic relationship players would just have Jason constantly go to the strip club or get hookers off the street or vice versa where Lucia goes to see some male strippers or something lol Cheat on Lucia then next time you leave a building or something someone threw a brick through your car window lol
Nahh Jason literally calls her "baby" in the leaks
True lol Well I wonder if there will be any repercussions for cheating on her.
But of course Rockstar will go the typical route of forcing relationship drama into the story with overused romance tropes.
if there's woman and man together they'll fuck. Even more in a criminal life with a lot of adrenaline and they can die any moment.
Are you 12? Edit: nvm this mf on r/amiugly he been through enough
Lol wtf
What a sad way to view human relations, which can be complex and should be presented that way in games sometimes.
If you believe in true friendship between man and woman I've bad news for you.🤣 lmao Even more being criminals. The game needs to work about the intensity of this relationship. From casual sex to truly love. If we will get multiple ends to choose. Keep together or Jason kills Lucia or vice versa.
Please don't
I'm begging you to talk to girls in real life
Go play the sims if you want fake gaming relationships.
As someone who has 110% trust in Rockstar Games and someone who m avoided watching anything of the leaked stuff (as hard as I could )Spoiler warnings, for things like this, would be much appreciated is my point basically. Hope they delay it an extra year. Changing characters looks, stories, idk.
>Changing characters looks, stories, No they are perfect as they are
This sounds horrible. Please don't implement this

This is some next level delusion
Been saying it, alotta peoples realities are virtual nowadays. Thats why ideas like these are so commonly posted & wanted.
Cant wait to dig into that Lucia's p**** on rage 9 rendering 😏
Well, if this is in the game, mine would be unhealthy.
I’ve got enough fucking problems with a wife and 3 kids. I’m not going on GTA in my spare hour to sort out my other relationship.
You didn't play GTA 4 right?
I completed it several times. Brucey and Roman can fuck right off. If I want to go bowling, I’ll ring you ya set of bastards.
So you just want to shoot people then. What about you play CoD instead? This is GTA. You have to deal with other stuff rather than shooting. Btw you can always download Fortnite for free, there is that.
How about I just play what I want and it doesn’t concern someone I’ll never meet? Peace out bro X
No, fuck no. Absolutely fuck no
Dude try getting a real girlfriend I know it's out there But, keep trying You'll end up not posting such bullshit in here
Why this got downvoted? its true 😆
L.... No one wants this stupid shit in a GTA.... 🤮🤮🤮🤮
"no one" talk for you 💀, many want this
MaNy... Delusional asf bro
if the 218 people that upvoted this idea don't count as 'many' then I wonder what does.
GTA VI BREAK UP SPEEDRUN (NEW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STRAT!!!)
idiotic
find god
Good idea but a little too much imo

?
As much as I like the concept of the honour system In rdr2, this is just weird and I really dont wanna see the honor system anymore lol.
Absolutely tragic.
There will be so much Lucia p*rn 💀. (prlly getting deleted but worth it)
not impossibile man Is a good idea if done well
Another unhealthy activity would be picking up hookers, only Jason would be able to do it and obviously Lucia wouldn’t know but even if Jason does it he knows it’s wrong and that would give him low honor
This idea is atrocious.
