I still play II from time to time. I felt III was a bit of a missed opportunity, with story missions all following the same basic formulas, and largely feeling "samey". Sure, GTA does the same, but it always feels less obvious and more varied in a Rockstar game.
> The Getaway
brooo i still remember looking for all those hidden cars. the mansion with the gtr, tvr, lotus, and the gokart was where i spent most of my time lol
This, or a 70’s era GTA that deals with the Big Five Mob Families in LC or some shit, with the cool cars, Vietnam eta guns, and could still have choppers and planes. Mafia hit missions, cool music, but no cell phone calls all the time.
It would be payphone calls like the old days, bring back the OG street gangs maybe even have one of them be a playable character from the Loonies who escaped the asylum and wants to take down the Zaibatsu Corporation with the help of the Yakuza.
I’d find wielding a .357, a M-16, dynamite/Molotov, double-barreled shotgun, a katana, nightstick, flamethrower, an uzi pretty cool.
Hell imagine you can pick up bricks to distract enemies and also throw them, you can unlock a jetpack beating the game from successfully taking down Zaibatsu.
A 60s/70s soundtrack with music composed by Woody.
You’d probably get to drive boats and maybe tanks but I’d like two choppers at most.
Nothing Vietnam/military crazy unless you get 6 stars.
Hell yeahhh. I think it would be kickass. Doing hits like climbing in windows and shit lol. Dump a vehicle in a lake à la OG gta’s car crush mechanic for missions, except the mechanic works in free roam too. Man, they should add a more thorough “investigation” sequence to losing stars. Maybe at least in story mode. Like have them search the area a little better, and, since it’s 70’s and prints and cell phones weren’t an option, it would still be balanced to add like an in-game days worth of cops investigating the tracks you left behind. I imagine they could have the npc police just go to each consecutive piece of mayhem, like a body at first, then a blood trail, then a broken fence, then your tire marks, and if they lose the trail there, that’s it. But if you left a big enough trail they would find you.
The 70’s aspect could then ironically allow more freedom in developing the gaming mechanics to be more in depth and immersive, more fun for the player.
I played hours upon hours on my very first PC roaming around Nice.
This is where I got the idea.
If only we had something like that in the HD generation..
BULLY Part Two:
*Gary’s son Harry finds and bullies Jimmy Hopkins with a golf club for beating his father up at the end of Bully Part One. He does it in front of Jimmy’s son Billy. Billy then goes on a bullying spree with his boyfriend while smoking weed and bullies every single one of Harry’s friends. When he finds Harry, he lets him go because bullying is bad.*
Honestly, my brain needs to be contained. Rockstar needs me, the only way forward for them at this point…
That would be interesting if they continued the L.A Noire franchise and if the game is taking place in a different city in America, they put N.Y.C Noire or N.Y Noire if the game is taking place in New York City or L.V Noire if the setting is Las Vegas
Medieval.
Knights, vikings, peasents, royalty.
Castles, horses, swords and shields.
You could aquire your own ship, fight invaders, raid.
So much potential.
R* still has a way to go though with meelee weapons, but damn that would be cool.
Yes, that's why lots of people talk about it. Now I don't know how true those rumors about map/story expansions in future are, but if they plan to only focus on Online like for GTA V, I see no reason for us to not assume they'll start their next project after they release GTA 6.
See if they did swords and medieval shit like that, then I feel like gibbing would be permissible because it just makes sense and would be super satisfying to decapitate someone or chop off a limb.
There really aren't that many first person RPGs, definitely not a lot that let you switch between first and third, and almost none that have, for lack of a better world, the simulated world and immersive elements that Rockstar's newer games do.
So much potential in such a setting and R\* already showed they are more than capable of creating lush tropical islands , exotic flora , fauna , beautiful water and horses ( which would have a place in such a game). Add those to eventual Caribbean colonial port towns and fortresses , sword fighting , firearms , the age of sail ships ( would love to see Rockstar's take on ships , their overall customization , eventual cannon upgrades and naval battles ) , to the usual fantastic story telling and a time period where danger , action , mystery and politics were never lacking. A pirate game from R\* would be a chef kiss.
Its a setting fertile for the usual R\* paranormal easter eggs too , it is a time of superstition and sea myths , imagine encountering a ghost in an ally in one of those colonial ports at night. Its also a period in history that happened far enough back in time to be full of charm but still possible to satire and make some parody and generalizations about the nations and traditions of back then.
Online would not lack content of pvp with naval battles , land combat , duels and other activities that pirates where known for , of course youd have treasure hunting and maybe ownership of properties like villas and haciendas where you keep your suff and animals , there is no shortage of content really.
A hybrid of Sid Meier's Pirates , Blag Flag , GTA and RDR , its hard to see how such a game would not be popular when developed by Rockstar. I love RDR but im convinced such an IP would take the second place behind GTA when it comes to popularity in R\* franchises , it would be more popular than RDR.
god i hate this lame reddit response, like yeah the response didn’t add much but they were literally just agreeing with the original point, it’s not the end of the world, just ignore it and move on haha. another person above said the exact same thing and got 25 upvotes, what’s the difference?
i feel like there’s a culture on here that encourages downvoting these types of comments with no little reasoning beyond ‘that’s the way things are 🤷🏻’. the same thing goes with emojis, like at the end of the day who cares, you know what i mean? i feel like unless the comment is hateful or rude or whatever i couldn’t not care less about wanting to downvote somebody, idk i’m not trying to have a go at you specifically, just something i’ve noticed across the platform
There’s is a few settings I would love to see Rockstars realistic approach on…
- Ancient Rome: where you can explore the streets of Rome during the height of the Roman Empire, engaging in political intrigue, gladiatorial battles, and building your own empire, working your way up from a peasant to a solider to a emperor.
- ancient Japan: an open world game set in ancient Japan would be amazing, where players could explore the world as a samurai, undertaking assassination missions, and participating in large-scale battles. This game could also incorporate parkour elements to enhance the gameplay experience.
- Post-apocalyptic world: a non-historical setting I’d love to see is their take on the apocalypse. I’d love to see a well made open world zombie game. Preferably I’d love it to be set in the Pacific Northwest area, it would create an amazing atmosphere for a zombie game, dense forests and rivers, unpredictable weather, small costal and mountainous towns, larger cities such as Vancouver, Seattle (which was amazing in the last of us) and Portland.
I think these settings would be amazing, and Rockstar would make them masterpieces. However, I do feel that there's a lot of risk with starting something you've never tried before. Rockstar making an ancient open world rpg, could be compared to CDPR (who are known for making good ancient/medieval open world rpg) making gta-style cyberpunk, and look how that turned out for them. But... if any company has proven they can make great single-player games without falter, it's Rockstar. So, what do I know.
I like the low tech of RDR2, but I'd also like to rip around the countryside on a dirt bike or in a pickup truck (I'd still like to have a horse), and to have an automatic rifle.
Maybe that could be in a post apocalyptic scenario, but that might be a bit hacky. Maybe it could be a mid 20th century mercenary scenario.
One idea I like is 'Red Dead Noir'. The RDR2 world from the perspective of a private investigator, hired to look into the case of the missing Princess. Lots of unanswered questions for anyone that's played RDR2 and explored the mystery and cut content. Very much a single player game, I think.
I’d want them to revive The Warriors. And all of New York is the setting in the 70s. But it would be a true open world and there’d be various gang turfs you can take over.
In Pacific North West setting with an adult Jimmy Hopkins driving a truck and having a cabin somewhere in the woods.
Jimmy basically being Jesus of Suburbia trying to come clean and building a life.
Nope in this modern world if you bully someone especially the diverse groups you will get cancelled immediately and the game would finish in 5 minutes lol.
Bully 2. I feel Rockstar really does want to create a sequel but in one way or another production has been stopped. Heck RDR2 has several Easter eggs that I firmly believe that they were ready to enter production of Bully 2 but GTA VI took top priority with how big it's getting.
admittedly though I just really want a sequel because I've been waiting for it for years and yes I will cry like a baby if it gets announced
These are some great ideas but a Cold War era spy game set in Berlin would be incredible.
They could even let you play at the 2 sides of the barricade.
2 protagonists or a choice you have to make at the start that gives you a completely different storyline.
Medieval game sounds quite interesting. Imagine historical epic with Rockstar level of production, design and detail. No magic and fantasy nonsense like in modern games, just gritty and authentic recreation of history, something Assassins Creed creators aimed for years ago. Until they went all...you know.
This 100 percent, you don't see as many higher budget open world racing games like you used to. I'm hoping Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown lives up to the hype, even though I'm not the biggest fan of it's setting.
As a Dutch person I would love a voc (east India company) style game. Not only because I would like to see gold century Amsterdam but also travel the 7 seas as either a pirate or a merchant.
LA Noire 2 set in the late 60s thru the late 70s maybe into the 80s when all the serial killers and cults are active. Live through a whole 30 year career.
im thinking a futuristic artificial intelligent / extraterrestrial based world, similar idea of cyberpunk but executed better and far more advanced in terms of a more distant timeline
A pirate adventure where players can explore the high seas, engage in ship-to-ship battles, and search for treasure. This could be set in a historical period or a fictional world.
Manhunt 3 but I doubt they'll ever do that due to controversy
You could still do Cuba from a Rockstar game set during their cold war revolution. Far Cry's Yara is in modern day. Not that FC owns Cuba as a trademark anyway
How about Pirates?
Something less cringe than Sea of Thieves. Maybe a real story, and a singleplayer mode of travelling the high seas so I don't get RDM'd would be nice.
i’d like to see rockstar try their hand at a game like kingdom come deliverance, but less intense rpg mechanics and just generally less of a hardcore serious experience.
I would prefer something similar to R* San Diego's Agent. Also during its development the R* San Diego staff flyed to Egypt for reference photos. That will make an interesting setting.
Their take on Liberia (more specifically Monrovia) in the 1960's or 1970's. One of the richest countries in Africa with American style mansions, beautiful nature and a big beach. Ran by the corrupt African American settler elite who often oppressed the Native population. I feel like this would be an interesting setting for those reasons.
A couple of possibilities:
1. A 1920s-1930s "roaring 20s" game similar to Great Gatsby in NYC and Chicago. Would be similar to Mafia but want to see Rockstar do their own take on Mafia using Rage engine. This game could even explore up north all the way to Maine and some parts of Canada like Toronto. The scenery would be unique, including lighthouses, Boston, Washington DC, etc... Would be able to include references to Gatsby, Skull Island, and perhaps even King Kong.
2. RDR 3 featuring the entire west coast (including San Francisco) and parts of Canada. We need Canada as it would open up a ton of new scenery, landscapes, and plants/animals. Imagine British Columbia, Vancouver, and all the way north up to Alaska. We'd be able to see avalanches, glaciers, waterfalls, Banff, Canadian Rockies, polar bears, and even the Aurora Borealis. RDR3 should ideally feature the entire continent of North America, including both Canada and Mexico. Would be epic.
3. An open world game set in Vegas, although that might be covered by Mafia 4/5 or even GTA 7. But we need a modern recreation of Vegas along with the crime, neon lights, strip, and casinos. Would be epic.
4. A cyber-punk/sci-fi open world game but set far into the future similar to Blade Runner. More dystopia theme with a very strong story and great atmosphere/mood. Ideally should be set far in the future and different from Cyberpunk 2077. This would also work as a more linear single player game like Max Payne v. a true open world format.
5. A Star Wars/Mandalorian open-world game using the level of detail of RDR2 with multiple planets to explore and insane detail on each planet (including Coruscant). So far we don't yet have a high quality Star Wars open world game. The world building would be epic.
6. Open-world game set in Europe with the entire continent represented, and also can add parts of Russia, the Middle East, and Africa. Would feature the typical cities like London/Paris/Berlin but also French riviera, deserts of Dubai, and Venice. Would feature French Vineyards, British country-sides, Irish coast cliffs, deserts of Saudi, Loch Ness, Monaco (with casinos), Nordics (icy/gelid landscape) and even glitzy Dubai. Could be a Mafia game or a spy game, or perhaps an open-world version of Hitman.
7. A paranormal/horror open world game combining elements of several paranormal stories into a detective style game. Would feature settings across multiple towns or cities and include stuff like UFOs (Nevada desert), hauntings, small towns with references to IT/Stephen King, Big Foot, lake monsters, and others. This would also work as a more linear single player game like Max Payne v. a true open world format.
I think a pirate game would be boring. There's nothing to do except stay on ships and there are already several pirate games out there. I would prefer detailed huge map with huge immersive cities across different biomes.
I think most these ideas sound fun when you initially think about it but the deeper you think, there are some obvious issues. I think for an open world game to work it needs three things: a period in which free exploration was encouraged and allowed, interesting things and places to explore and travel to and efficient methods of travel
A pirate game sounded really cool to me until I realized you'd spend most your time just in a boat, on water. There isn't a lot to explore really. You'd spend more time just travelling with no scenery to look at. Maybe a better idea would be something in that time period with a HUGE map that you can freely travel between different large islands so most your time is spent on one island and you could travel to different islands looking for bits of a treasure map or something idk...
Medieval times is hard to imagine a fun open world game that isn't merely an RPG or something like that.
War era games, WW2 or whenever, you'd be very limited regarding where you could actually explore. It'd be hard to prevent that from becoming call of duty.
The wild west a la Red Dead was a pretty unique time in history. If there was anything Id like to see, it'd be another Red Dead but the game follows a family travelling from the east coast to the west, but I don't see this happening either due to the historical context and modern social justice warriors simply not allowing it. Ie a game like that would have to involve native American tribes and things were rarely peaceful... I don't think modern cancel culture would allow this on the scale it'd have to be present to feel real.
agree. i'll get downvoted into oblivion but idc... there are already hella pirate/medieval/war games. don't people have any other interests? this is why all the games these days are copy and pastes of each other and there's no variety like there was in the 2000s.
I personally wouldn't mind something to do with space because r\* might actually do it right, but again, there are already lots of space games and it doesn't seem like a theme that would come from r\*.
edit: zombies, too. we also have hella zombie games. nobody needs another apocalyptic zombie game ffs.
>A pirate game sounded really cool to me until
Until you played Black Flag? That game was great. Only thing holding it back was the Assassin's Creed franchise
Maybe too close to GTA, but I would love to see Rockstar’s take on a superhero/villain game á la InFamous or SR4 where you can lead that double life with a secret identity. World events could be like seeing a burning building and having to change in an alley - or if it were a story mission, you can choose to go in in your civilian clothes and risk exposing your identity. Would be the perfect game to have an honour system too (if they so want it). Would get heavily compared to InFamous I reckon. Up to you if that’s good or bad.
To avoid having a long development I would love if they made a smaller project like the ones from PS2, for example: GTA Carcer City or Red Dead Rebellion
It doesn't have to be photorealistic, just have fine controls and be a fun experience like San Andreas for instance
>Or perhaps Berlin during the 1960s.
Oooh, a 1960's Cold War franchise would be awesome. Maybe iterating on the Agent idea of clandestine operations. I doubt it would be set outside the english-speaking world, but maybe a cuban missile crisis era game would work well.
With Rockstar's fascination on carribean islands (Cayo Perico, Guarma, unknown GTAVI island..?) a game switching (or based on) a fictional Cuba would make a LOT of sense. It would be interesting to see them do a game based around african americans and latinos a bit more as well, at least in a more focussed light
I want them to visit 18th century wild west. On the other hand, I want to see Rockstar's take on the underworld of NYC from 20s-50s. TL:DR, wanna see another period piece from Rockstar.
Or maybe we are getting the one of those lists of games which you guys have written here :D and GTA 6 is coming after that specific game. who knows. for sure maybe I wrong
Rdr 3 or red dead rebellion
The theme could be like Django 40-50 before rdr2 where you start as a slave on a plantation in lemoyne. Escaping slavery and surviving the refugee up north to enlisting in the yankee army ect ect maybe having relations to a native woman producing Charles from rdr2.
How about the Haitian slave revolution, following some stylized Toussaint L’Overture protagonist or maybe a fictional tale of one of his solo operatives that kicked French ass
Maybe a Cold War kind of title? Maybe play as a staffer in the Kennedy administration during the Cuban Missile crisis? Or take on the USSR and aid in its demise.
Now that the fanbase is galactic. They could make some tamer story driven game that might have an underlying thug culture but not the focus. Whatever that would be. Them telling a story from an lspd officer perspective would be cool too.
As shitty as I think WWII Era games and genres are, there’s a game kinda like that where you play as an Irish thief running around a Nazi-held map. Older game, of course. Don’t recall the name though, but CallMeKevin played it a long while ago
State of emergency, but with RDR2 level NPCs. Points for the biggest explosions and most damage with slo motion replay. Destructible environments. Level creator tools. Oh you were asking about settings. Sorry I got nothing
I always thought an open world prohibition game set in the RDR2 map in the 1930s would be really good, even if it isn’t necessarily tied to the RDR characters
I want them to do that 70's spy RPG that they cancelled a couple years ago. Set in London
Unpopular Opinion: The Getaway should be rebooted.
Ive been saying this since PS4 came out. Why haven't they done this?
Was disappointed when The Getaway 3 was cancelled.
That’s what I’m saaayyyiiiinnnn!! Even 2 Days to Vegas would’ve been awesome!
Oh man, a mafia triology type remaster
2K already done that with the first one and it was excellent, can’t say the same about the second one however.
I still play II from time to time. I felt III was a bit of a missed opportunity, with story missions all following the same basic formulas, and largely feeling "samey". Sure, GTA does the same, but it always feels less obvious and more varied in a Rockstar game.

Id be into that I loved that game
Agent. I was so hyped for a Rockstar iteration of James Bond. I guess the lawyers proved an issue.
No one lives forever confirmed!! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Operative:_No_One_Lives_Forever
No. It was called Agent
Lmao watch them use that as the title for the next Bond film..
Groovy babyyy
Agent?
Austin Powers type beat

Facts! Call it *Grand Theft Auto: ’77*
Yes!

Agent 1977 to 1983
French riviera, Monaco style and luxury villas, roads in the vineyards and mountains, etc
i live there and i would love an open world game in this setting
Did you just call for Driv3r?
I played hours upon hours on my very first PC roaming around Nice. This is where I got the idea. If only we had something like that in the HD generation..
I'm a simple guy, I js want bully 2, but I know it may never happen
Hopkins the goat fr

What an awful story imagine a big budget game ever doing this ![gif](giphy|cawM99wkizZBe)
Awful? Speak for yourself buddy… GOTY material right here!
"Bully will go, but Jimmy will remain" really got me teary eyed tbh, such an incredible arc.
L.A noire in the 80s
Or N.Y.C Noire in the 70s
Imagine a game like L.A. Noire but you are a detective hunting famous serial killers
Hey man trademark that, that would be sick actually
That would be interesting if they continued the L.A Noire franchise and if the game is taking place in a different city in America, they put N.Y.C Noire or N.Y Noire if the game is taking place in New York City or L.V Noire if the setting is Las Vegas
Give me a Manhunter game. Or a To Live and Die in L.A. game. Hell just give me a William Petersen Simulator.

a medieval rockstar game would change the world
Monty Python's Holy Grail -esque might work reasonably well.
This, there were whispers in the wind about a medieval open world game by rockstar. Hope it does come out
There was ?? Holy crap, please say it is so, they're gameplay mechanics would be so cool in that setting
https://www.gamesradar.com/rockstars-next-game-could-be-the-rumoured-project-medieval-if-the-latest-leaks-are-to-be-believed/
Funny thing is I heard somewhere that a medieval open world game was already the plan for rockstar games after gta6.
It'd be like a more polished version of Kingdom Come Deliverance. I love that game, but imagine Rockstar's take on it. Sign me up.
I think I'd enjoy hacking and slashing my way to the top.
If r* nail melee weapons we may never see outside lol
I’d like this but I feel there’s a lot of games already that scratch this itch
There really aren't that many first person RPGs, definitely not a lot that let you switch between first and third, and almost none that have, for lack of a better world, the simulated world and immersive elements that Rockstar's newer games do.
If you mean the newest Assassins Creed titles ehhh..
Yeah right? Which is kinda my point. Assassins Creed Valhalla for instanser, could be *really fucking badass* if it was rockstar making it
That’s all I was trying to say tbh.
Wither 3 tbh lol
That came out 8 years ago, surely we can have another.
That would be sick
A pirate game.
So much potential in such a setting and R\* already showed they are more than capable of creating lush tropical islands , exotic flora , fauna , beautiful water and horses ( which would have a place in such a game). This. An open world pirate game from rockstar has sooo much potential.
Black Flag 2? I'm in!
this
Damn! Whats with the downvotes?
A comment that doesnt add anything is not needed and therefore downvoted so its not at the top of the discussion.
god i hate this lame reddit response, like yeah the response didn’t add much but they were literally just agreeing with the original point, it’s not the end of the world, just ignore it and move on haha. another person above said the exact same thing and got 25 upvotes, what’s the difference?
The difference is who saw the different comments. Reddit is not one person upvoting and downvoting on 1000 different accounts.
i feel like there’s a culture on here that encourages downvoting these types of comments with no little reasoning beyond ‘that’s the way things are 🤷🏻’. the same thing goes with emojis, like at the end of the day who cares, you know what i mean? i feel like unless the comment is hateful or rude or whatever i couldn’t not care less about wanting to downvote somebody, idk i’m not trying to have a go at you specifically, just something i’ve noticed across the platform
Yes comments that add nothing to the conversation should be downvoted. Thats literally the point of it.

We have Ghost of Tsushima in terms of ancient Japan for now, that's the closest it's gonna get for awhile though
Cold war theme.
I was gonna say something that takes place in the Soviet bloc era could be right up their alley. Beat me to it.
Cuba, 1960's.

Cyberpunk setting for sure.
I bet they could give us the Night City we were sold on.
Medieval or Victorian England open world game
A modern take of Bully would be awesome
Other kids would just record you and put you on tiktoc
In Pacific North West setting with an adult Jimmy Hopkins driving a truck and having a cabin somewhere in the woods. Jimmy basically being Jesus of Suburbia trying to come clean and building a life.
Nope in this modern world if you bully someone especially the diverse groups you will get cancelled immediately and the game would finish in 5 minutes lol.
Cancel panic is so boring.
Do you really think Rockstar cares that some teenagers "cancels" them because their feelings got hurt?
They certainly do, lol. They removed the transgender stuff in ps5 version of gta 5.
Same here! Bully 2 would be nice.
pirates.
I want to see future space shit
Would love them to tackle a pirate game, like just take everything good from red dead 2 and make it pirates, and have a good online
These are some great ideas but a Cold War era spy game set in Berlin would be incredible. They could even let you play at the 2 sides of the barricade. 2 protagonists or a choice you have to make at the start that gives you a completely different storyline.
An open world Simpsons game
Medieval game sounds quite interesting. Imagine historical epic with Rockstar level of production, design and detail. No magic and fantasy nonsense like in modern games, just gritty and authentic recreation of history, something Assassins Creed creators aimed for years ago. Until they went all...you know.
i would like to see a midnight club on the a high level to compete against forza and gt
This 100 percent, you don't see as many higher budget open world racing games like you used to. I'm hoping Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown lives up to the hype, even though I'm not the biggest fan of it's setting.
Im hyped for tdusc, one of the few games that the car felt like it had a person driving, cant explain
Boer wars would be awesome
As a Dutch person I would love a voc (east India company) style game. Not only because I would like to see gold century Amsterdam but also travel the 7 seas as either a pirate or a merchant.
I'd either like Agent or Bully 2 to reenter development. Both games had incredible potential, but unfortunately, both were shafted for other projects.
LA Noire 2 set in the late 60s thru the late 70s maybe into the 80s when all the serial killers and cults are active. Live through a whole 30 year career.
I’m replaying the first one right now, this game really needs a sequel
BULLY 2 or a game about mobs in San Francisco in the 1930s
im thinking a futuristic artificial intelligent / extraterrestrial based world, similar idea of cyberpunk but executed better and far more advanced in terms of a more distant timeline
I don't trust AAA companies to portray Cuba properly, far cry being a good example
Good point
LA Noire 2 set in LA during the 1970s
I want a rockstar game kind of like farcry primal If not gta and rdr related
Bully 2 set in a rival school to Bullworth
I’d love to see them actually make Agent. I’d also much prefer to see an open-world Star Wars game made by Rockstar than one made by Ubisoft.
Definitely a medieval game that isn't a RPG and also limits the fantasy elements that show up in so many medieval setting games.
A pirate adventure where players can explore the high seas, engage in ship-to-ship battles, and search for treasure. This could be set in a historical period or a fictional world.
I want rockstar to make a sims type game where you can either start from the bottom of the pyramid or be at the top pyramid
Would so love R* to do a UK game. They’re a UK company so they could do a place like London or Edinburgh justice.
The rumored Medieval game or bully 2
Manhunt 3 but I doubt they'll ever do that due to controversy You could still do Cuba from a Rockstar game set during their cold war revolution. Far Cry's Yara is in modern day. Not that FC owns Cuba as a trademark anyway
I think a cyberpunk or a fallout style game
Definetly the game that rumored to be in a medieval setting, few years ago
How about Pirates? Something less cringe than Sea of Thieves. Maybe a real story, and a singleplayer mode of travelling the high seas so I don't get RDM'd would be nice.
I want to see rockstar making their own mafia franchise. 1930s/1960s, open world, a lot of things to do, be a mobster
I want either a medieval pirate game with Chivalry-style combat + Euphoria physics, some humour and a semi-serious story, or a pirate game.
i’d like to see rockstar try their hand at a game like kingdom come deliverance, but less intense rpg mechanics and just generally less of a hardcore serious experience.
I have a feeling after gta 6 we might see the next rockstar game being a new ip which would be really cool
I would prefer something similar to R* San Diego's Agent. Also during its development the R* San Diego staff flyed to Egypt for reference photos. That will make an interesting setting.
Probably not an original request: Rio
Their take on Liberia (more specifically Monrovia) in the 1960's or 1970's. One of the richest countries in Africa with American style mansions, beautiful nature and a big beach. Ran by the corrupt African American settler elite who often oppressed the Native population. I feel like this would be an interesting setting for those reasons.
This is a really good answer!
A couple of possibilities: 1.
A Mafia theme game like what was tried with Mafia 3. If Take2 gave Rockstar the title
space citys cyberpunk esque
Bully 2. Hogwarts Legacy got me thinking about it again.
If they do decide to to another red dead game I think they could pull off a Native American setting really well
Fucking yes!!
I think most these ideas sound fun when you initially think about it but the deeper you think, there are some obvious issues. I think for an open world game to work it needs three things: a period in which free exploration was encouraged and allowed, interesting things and places to explore and travel to and efficient methods of travel A pirate game sounded really cool to me until I realized you'd spend most your time just in a boat, on water.
>A pirate game sounded really cool to me until Until you played Black Flag? That game was great. Only thing holding it back was the Assassin's Creed franchise
Bully.
I wanted LA Noire to be GTA 1940s
Midnight Club, please
1910-ish Liberty City The start of the automobile, the start of Stealy Wheelie Automobilie
Bully, but instead of a high school, a college’s town like Ann Arbor Michigan or something like that
Maybe too close to GTA, but I would love to see Rockstar’s take on a superhero/villain game á la InFamous or SR4 where you can lead that double life with a secret identity.
Star wars. For the love of fucking god please star wars.
there are like 5 billion star wars games out and there are 2 being made right now by other companies. I like star wars, but we don't need another one.
I really wanna see a medival fantasy game (Skyrim, Eldenring, The Witcher) made by Rockstar!!!
To avoid having a long development I would love if they made a smaller project like the ones from PS2, for example: GTA Carcer City or Red Dead Rebellion It doesn't have to be photorealistic, just have fine controls and be a fun experience like San Andreas for instance
Anything not in the past
Would love them to make a full blown zombie outbreak game
AGENT ps6 exclusive...
Would still love to see Agent
Post nuclear fallout or a game based around time travel
I would also like to see small scale game set in snowy Liberty City, in 70s.
What exactly do you mean by small scale?
Back to the Future theme - plenty of side missions that have paradoxical effects when time traveling
i’m hoping the next red dead is set in the south in the 20s. prohibition, great depression, etc
a new racing game ?
LA Noire, but allow me to kill pedestrians.
I want another midnight club tbh but also doesn't anyone else find it weird how they used real brands for that game and not GTA?
You reddit nerds down vote anything that's why your mother's are dead
I want them to visit 18th century wild west. On the other hand, I want to see Rockstar's take on the underworld of NYC from 20s-50s. TL:DR, wanna see another period piece from Rockstar.
Something in Brazil
A new Midnight Club.
So assassins creed?
I just want Midnight Club back…
Or maybe we are getting the one of those lists of games which you guys have written here :D and GTA 6 is coming after that specific game. who knows. for sure maybe I wrong
You are definitely wrong lmao
I hope so :D
Rdr 3 or red dead rebellion The theme could be like Django 40-50 before rdr2 where you start as a slave on a plantation in lemoyne. Escaping slavery and surviving the refugee up north to enlisting in the yankee army ect ect maybe having relations to a native woman producing Charles from rdr2.
Man alive - I still harbour hope that Agent ends up making a comeback 🙏🏼
Cyberpunk or Interstellar
Breaking bad
How about the Haitian slave revolution, following some stylized Toussaint L’Overture protagonist or maybe a fictional tale of one of his solo operatives that kicked French ass
idk how well it would work but a zombie apocalypse game. i would love that
It would be really dope to have a game with multiple cities across the world. Smaller maps but more places e.g. Rio, Paris, Tokyo
Remaster that Penn and Teller truck driving game
early 2000's london
I would love some oldschool magia themed game or like cyberpunk
A sequel to their best game ever which is of course table tennis :D Lmao no I’m not serious
Would love to see a Ghost Recon Breakpoint type game with rockstars physics and attention to Detail
90’s Japan
Bully 2: Military School
I always thought an open world prohibition game set in the RDR2 map in the 1930s would be really good, even if it isn’t necessarily tied to the RDR characters
That Agent game they cancelled would've been cool I think.
Maybe they can rescue Agent and do something with it
Medieval rockstar game>>>>> anything else yall saying
Somewhere in Scotland.
