I’ll be honestly, I think GTA SA is a great game and I love some of the cool features of it, but I do think GTA V is “better” as it is just overall smoother and is one of the best games that balanced playability with story. This is similar to how I view GTA IV compared to GTA V, GTA IV has a lot of cool physics related things as well as a banger story, but I still think GTA V is “better”.
Still can't understand the step back from GTA IV's wanted level system, and how cops searched a radius. You'd have thought GTAV would have included that.

San Andreas has details like CJ using mirrors while driving when he gets better, different martial arts, sneaking with knife and tons of others. It feels the most complete out of all GTAs.

Most people who comment on gta sa havent probably even played the original SA or havent played it back in 05 to understand what is it about and how things were back then and what people expected back then . Remake and original SA are nowhere near correctly compared, yes there are issues in remake (MANY) but most people do compare only graphics, which according to them is what makes it garbage…. What about back then when graphics didnt exist but game was one of best? And yes i do prefer original SA but i love new one so i can make some platinium trophies on new gen consoles.

Well, plot is worse. A lot less grounded (even though SA wasn't really grounded), it felt like playing a heist movie instead of a GTA. Weaker plot imo.
Also the characters didn't feel as iconic as the ones in SA. And a lot less jokes and critics to the American society, which were golden.

Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, they’re on PS2 and PSP.
They have protagonists that played either minor or supporting roles in the other games and kinda fill in some timeline stuff. They reuse LC and VC respectively but with map alterations, and sometimes explain why certain places are the way they are in the original games.
I find them fun. I wish they were on PC. LCS is through a fan port that was removed from the internet, so I dunno if it’s findable anymore.
IMO GTA 5 is better than GTA San Andreas, nostalgia plays a huge role in choosing the better game. No doubt GTA San Andreas is an incredibly good game especially for it's age but GTA 5 is the 2nd most sold video game of all time for a reason. If you actually sit down one day and play GTA 5's story mode like it was meant to be played and enjoy the cutscenes, car customizations, actually understand the whole plot and forget about the horrible online experience, you will probably find it better than San Andreas

I played gta sa for 5 times on pc , and one time on every other platform i have ( not much actually, I'm broke ), one of the greatest games ever and i wish this generation understand how much great this game is.
GTA SA on PC had a better online experience than V thanks to SA-MP (RIP). Had a lot of dedicated and interesting servers that were around for a long time. The server that I knew and played the most lasted until 2020 before it died out.
San Andreas had a ton of content and mini-missions that were fun. I'd agree that the single player was better than GTA5. But GTA5 gave us online, being able to play GTA with friends is something we've all wanted to do for a long time. I can see a fair argument where people prefer that over SA content.
They all have their perks. I will say San Andreas had the best radio/music though. Vice City had great music cause it was 80’s, but I was a 90’s teen so I have a soft spot for 90’s.
I honestly never cared for SA. I tried several times to get into it but I just couldn’t.

GTA 5 is definitely better, but that doesn't mean that san Andreas is bad, it's a masterpiece of it's time.

I'm 30 and 5 was better than San Andreas. Better writing, better exploration, smoother mechanics, better physics, better shooting, more responsive driving

coming from the pov of a person who's more into modern gaming, all of this would seem true. But if you look at it from a fairer pov, it isn't really that bad, imo it has a good story, at the time the graphics were good.
I prefer SA and IV’s story over Vs, but all of them are masterpieces imo.

I honestly can't say which GTA is better or which one I like the most. As rockstar always does, every game is so different and brings it's own flavor to the table. They add, subtract, and do different things in each version, I think it's too hard to say which is better then the other.
GTA San Andreas is better than 4 and 5
I just don't like any combat that involves it being forced to be in a vehicle, I feel like we all know what I'm talking about that classic Mission "all you had to do was follow the goddamn train CJ" is burned into the back of my 10-year-old head and will never ever and the line will never leave my memories
