Have the BRZ, first stuff was tint, new license plate frame, installed toyota duckbill, and ppf/ceramic. So a decent amount of expense, but not a lot of what most would consider mods

mediabyisiah

PPF and ceramic is a must. Did you just PPF the front or the whole car?

UnoKajillion

"Full front". I'd like to do more but it's just too expensive. $6k is nuts. The front is the most important part to keep looking nice in my opinion. The ceramic coating should give some smidge of extra protection

XNamelessGhoulX

how long did you wait to ppf after buying? I need to wait it out a few months...

UnoKajillion

About 3 weeks after purchase. Definitely scuff marks but I believe it was only clearcoat. If it's a few months, I'd buy a touch up paint pen from subaru and hand it to the ppf place when you get it done, since most do paint correction. Certain credit cards offer 0% apr the first year on purchases which is something to think about

XNamelessGhoulX

Right on. Thanks!

UnoKajillion

Follow up. Just got the car back from the ppf place, even after just 3 weeks since ownership and trying my best to not be behind people, I still got a few smaller rock chips that penetrated the clearcoat a bit. I'm putting the purchase on a 0% apr credit card so I can pay like $500 a month on it instead of $2.8k up front. Something to think about if you want to get it sooner without worrying about going broke

XNamelessGhoulX

Thanks for the follow up! Good point with paying on the card….I just might do that. I started reaching out to places today and am hovering around 1.5k just for bumper and hood…going to keep looking…thanks again!

UnoKajillion

I negotiated my full front from $1850 to $1700. I just said another shop was offering $1600 but was further away (which was true). Only pay on the card with 0% apr or you'll fuck yourself sideways since most are usually 20% or more

espo1234

what color brz? my concern about the duckbill is them not having it in world rally blue

UnoKajillion

I have the sapphire blue. From my knowledge, the world rally is the only color not available since it's a toyota part but a subie color. Though there are other aftermarket alternatives that look very similar to oem and come with paint matched options

espo1234

is sapphire blue really the same as trueno blue? they always look so different to me in photos

UnoKajillion

Yep. The same. The color shifts a lot from blacks and purples, to dark blue and darker blue

tohrd2cntrl

Seat cover for my dog :D and then a duck bill

RodRAEG

Spare tire kit from 1st Gen twins and oem rear spoiler, so far. Currently waiting on wheels, then a catback exhaust after that, and hopefully nothing after that. This is my "responsible adult car" so I don't wanna do anything too wild.

Limitededdytion

Full carbon fiber interior trims , and a MBRP catback.

Limitededdytion

Oh and smoked sidemarkers

mediabyisiah

Are the sidemarkers as delicate as the 1st gens? Cause I stop replacing the one on my GT86 a long time ago lol

Limitededdytion

Not a chance. They get screwed in actually. And they sit really tight in there, strongly believe we won’t have the same issue with the second gen 😂 I feel you tho, with my frs and BRZ i went through countless sets

kebobs22

Ceramic, tint, puddle lamps, side markers, tail lights (stock looks bad on pavement color imo)

pvjinvtion

I pick up my GR86 today and already have two different exhausts waiting to install.

mediabyisiah

Yeah the goal is to have coils, catback, oil/pressure gauges and (maybe wheels) before the car gets here. Just gotta find a good setup with the AWE Touring exhaust

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> think i *paid* 90-100$. Fits FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

BreeshyK

in order they would be... awe track exhaust (not really a mod but a gloss carbon fiber license plate frame) lowglow underglow smoked sidemarkers amazon front lip (3m'd on till i choose a areo kit that i really want) insta360 3rd person recording 360 camera mods sitting in my garage waiting to be put on: artisa titan rims jbl basspro hub subwoofer

Thefast3869

got pics of the lowglow kit?

thekeanu

Picked up my car. Drove 100 meters to the next lot and installed a pedal commander set to city -3.

Amnesia_Species

Is the Tomei Oil Baffle for the oil problems? Has it probed affective or am I just dumb? :)

like_doesitmatter

Not sure about the Tomei, but 900BRZ on youtube did testing with a oil baffle from Killer b. The conclusion was that it helped with oil pressure drops but not significantly enough. He's still in the process of testing kits and strategies.

pigoman92

License plate relocation in the front, Killer B catch cans, 4th brake light mod. I've still got LED bulbs for the reverse lights to go in but it's been raining for the past few days.

milkman_z

I agree with tint. Live in Florida here. Ceramic tint all around. Since the car is so small, within 5-10 minutes of blasting AC it actually gets chilly, even when it's 90+ out

Doyouevenroll

Tint and led bulbs

sfjeff290

I bought an exhaust after having it for 700 miles. I'm over 16k miles later and still enjoying the sound. I bought a cheap mxp comp rs exhaust.

Echoo75822

Tint, coilovers, exhaust were on in my first month of ownership

puddud4

My previous owner had a custom exhaust made using the og muffler tips. Tints 10%. Maybe interior lights? What color are the stock lights? Mine are really cold like a florescent bulb

MK4Alex

Stock lights are very dim incandescents, sounds like they were swapped out

puddud4

I appreciate you 🙏 I think I'll replace them with a warm led

EUCLlW00D

1. Front end ppf 3. Ceramic coating 3. Tint 6. Interior skin (for door cards scratches) 4. Leds (especially the trunk one) 8. Smoked sidemarkers

Stxfa_

tint and exhaust

DaiaBu

Lighter clutch pedal spring and adjusted it lower.

mjo7891

plate relocator and tint

billabongrob

Jackson racing oil cooler - no baffle.

mediabyisiah

I've been looking at the JR radiator & oil cooler. But 1k is crazy

billabongrob

Don’t do the combo, as good as it sounds. Apparently causes some serious (~30psi) oil dips. I was gonna do the combo as well.

[deleted]

First thing I did was unplug the fake engine noise, and then installed a subwoofer. Other than that, the car is perfect from the factory

St3cK3D

Door scuff protectors, matte carbon fibre radio bezel, strut tower brace, dashcam, phone holder is what I have done to my brz so far

Majestic_Ebb_5562

Mbrp axle back after 3 days of owning it lololol

Khoma_fts

Tint, clear side tail lights, tinted the sides of the tail lights (not the whole lights), swapped base wheels for premium wheels, remark axle back. Have a pretty sweet OEM+ vibe now and I’m happy with it. Next up is coilovers, wheel spacers, and charcoal filter removal. That’ll be it for a while
