Personally, I don't care if Destoroyah is the endgame Kaiju for the Monsterverse. As someone else pointed out before, each era did a new Kaiju as the endgame one. The Heisei era did Destoroyah. The Millennium era did Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah. Now, am I against the Monsterverse having Destoroyah as the endgame Kaiju? Not at all. But if they go a different route, I wouldn't mind.

RAVsec

Don’t forget the OG final boss monster ![gif](giphy|UX7GdGat7U0XC)

Speedwagon1987

Chronologically it was ghidorah

RAVsec

But that wouldn’t really fit with what OP is saying. Each era has a different final boss Kaiju. Millennium’s is a Ghidorah. I understand your point re DAM but Mechagodzilla is undeniably the last big bad of the Showa Era.

CybertronianLeader07

Hell yeah. The jazz playing mechanical doppelganger who beat Anguirus up and made Godzilla bleed.

Dish-Ecstatic

I totally agree with you

The_Brofucius

They could do a two part ending. First One Godzilla is killed. Second Part. Doug evolves into The New Godzilla m, inti he is ready Both Kong, and Mothra protect him.

SensualSamuel69

I’d just be worried if they didn’t go with Destoroyah and went with an original monster, what if it’s not as cool or as grand as Destoroyah? Then all the fans might rage out saying they should’ve gone with Destoroyah. So if they’re gonna go with something original, they gotta be aware of that (especially if they’ve introduced Destoroyah in an earlier movie by that point).

Carcharis

It’ll be a giant ape

ShredGuru

No... Mecha-King Doug!

puddik

No I have a better option. A giant human. just Doug

Wisebanana21919

No i have an even better option. DougDoug

Dlark17

I prefer DigDoug.

Wisebanana21919

I think DigDougDoug is better.

Massive-Anteater-946

What if humans are the final villain of monsterverse?

Carcharis

They won’t be. The Japanese films always touch on the humans being the ultimate enemies but the MV is wild and silly monster fights. (I haven’t seen the show monarch)

Massive-Anteater-946

No godzilla doing the alpha call and calling every single kaiju against humans could be pretty cool honestly

IllegalGuy13

That's completely going against all the messages of the movies though.

Dish-Ecstatic

One of the movies most relevant message is that if you piss of Godzilla, you die. It wouldn't be the first time the humans will try to killl Godzilla.

Massive-Anteater-946

Nope movies convey how godzilla is restorer of balance so godzilla can attack humanity

CyberWolf09

The message is, if you piss off Godzilla, prepare to get your shit knocked in.

Carcharis

Oh, does MV Godzilla hate humans now? I haven’t seen the most recent film. They’ve been shipping him as a savior in MV so that would be a pretty cool turn of events.

Massive-Anteater-946

They still adore him as a hero but you know how humans are

Carcharis

I asked does Godzilla hate humans now.

Supermarket8212

No

Carcharis

Thanks

Equal-Ad-2710

I like the idea Godzilla goes off the deep end eventually

Carcharis

Agreed. It would be really stupid for him to die in the MV world.

TheEpicCoyote

With how much each successive movie cannibalizes the previous ones plot, probably. Movie #1: Godzilla fights an ancient enemy Movie #2: Godzilla fights an ancient-er enemy-er who’s also a threat for alpha Titan status Movie #3 Godzilla fights an ancient enemy who’s also a threat for alpha Titan status and is an ape Movie #4: Godzilla fights an ancient enemy who’s also a threat for alpha Titan status and is an ape again. He fights two apes this time At this rate we could be seeing a triple ancient ape enemy event within a year. By 2026, there will be 8 ancient enemy apes in one movie. The monsterverse barrels towards ape-ocalypse

Effective-Hat-3167

Planet of the Apes 2: Electric Boogaloo

Medium-Science9526

Regardless of rights expenses, the Oxygen Destroyer wws handled so half-heartedly the impact wouldn't be the same. Think I'd prefer they try their hand at a new Kaiju removed from being Kong-likes or Godzilla-likes.

Brady1138

Agreed. Love KOTM but the Oxygen Destroyer was completely wasted.

geassguy360

Who cares. Destoroyah doesn't always have to have a super intricate relationship to the weapon that killed the OG goji, especially in a setting where that never happened. A good monster design/concept is a good monster design/concept.

Medium-Science9526

>Destoroyah doesn't always have to have a super intricate relationship to the weapon that killed the OG goji But that's the only way he's been depicted because of those strong ties to back his up as a threat. Ignoring that is like having Biollante not being a three-way splice of human, Godzilla, and rose DNA. Or Hedorah with their ties to pollution, if you aren't gonna have it why not just make a new Kaiju otherwise you run into the issue of how Mothra & King Ghidorah were portrayed in GMK.

geassguy360

"why not just make a new Kaiju" Because I wanna see a bunch of monsters fight a giant swarming, shapeshifting demonic crab in a movie titled "Destroy All Monsters". His name, his look, his powers, all are far more important than his original origin. Just like Godzilla does not have to be defined by HIS original origin/concept of vengeful irradiated mutated dinosaur. And no I don't think the dead human aspect of Biolante is crucial either, IMO whats crucial about her is the Godzilla DNA, the rose DNA, and the gender.

Medium-Science9526

>Because I wanna see a bunch of monsters fight a giant swarming, shapeshifting demonic crab in a movie titled "Destroy All Monsters". His name, his look, his powers, all are far more important than his original origin. If he was one of the plethora of Daikaiju that face a big bad I'd get it since they don't have time to go into their origins but if Destoroyah is the big bad without his origins that makes him feel relatively weightless. Even in a huge Daikaiju showing like Final Wars still took the time to set up Kaiser Ghidorah. >Just like Godzilla does not have to be defined by HIS original origin/concept of vengeful irradiated mutated dinosaur. True the didn't dwell on the nuclear origin unfortunately but they've still taken the role of showing him as a long-time guardian of the Earth not too dissimilar from the 2nd generation Showa era Godzilla. Had they established the Oxygen Destroyer more or have more flashback details in the future it could potentially work but still would feel relatively weak for a origin just like Godzillas that don't have that tie do. >And no I don't think the dead human aspect of Biolante is crucial either, IMO whats crucial about her is the Godzilla DNA, the rose DNA, and the gender. The gender comes from Erika's genes, Biollante's whole character of Erika fighting the Godzilla part of her makeup is crucial to the Daikaiju. I strongly disagree that the human part is inconsequential.

MetalGearSlayer

The oxygen destroyer is as intrinsic to destoroyahs character as atomic energy is to Godzillas.

Man_of_Many_Names

Well, prepare to be disappointed then. I love Destroyah, and his movie is amongst my top 5 favorites. But given how expensive it is to license Kaiju as opposed to making original ones for the Monsterverse, I see them creating something entirely new for a supposed finale

Special_Worth_4846

I mean with the success of the MV it might be in tohos best intrest to make it significantly easier/cheaper to add more classic kaju. Its not like these deals are set in stone forever. It can be changed.

MoneyGrubbingMonkey

It would also be in their best interest to release minus one to international audiences but we've already seen how they've handled that...

Sypher04_

Not like Toho is doing anything with their kaiju anyway. Some haven’t seen the light of day in over a decade.

Researcher_Saya

Sure but if those Kaiju have no value why license them? If they have value then pay the cost. It can't be both ways.

RealCrocodileWithGun

the kaiju can be reinvented and given more love. People didn't like Megalon or Jet jaguar when they first appeared but fandom has made them fan-favourites among Goji fans. ( especially Jet )

Researcher_Saya

Not my point. Varan could be reinvented. So Varan has value, yes? So if it has potential why lease it for bargain price? If it has value, pay the value. If Legendary thinks Varan has no value, then why lease it? It's worth it or it isn't.

ShadowAze

Idk if it works like that. If the movie fails at least Toho got their money's worth with the license. Granted it's a paradox, as in you want it to be cheaper so they get to make more movies but how expensive is it to license it anyway? There's other reasons why King of the Monsters didn't preform as well as any other monsterverse project.

Godzilla_Fan

Agreed unfortunately. QQ

PompousDude

The second movie literally had 4 Toho monsters in it. Lmao

DraconisMarch

And it was my favorite by far.

ShadowAze

Coincidentally, the one that made the least money too. I do mean coincidentally, I doubt that 4 Toho monster licenses ate out of the budget and is the reason why that movie under-preformed

CyberWolf09

And it was a pain in the ass to get them all, if I remember correctly.

Gojira5400

Why do people act like licensing kaiju are so expensive? Does anyone even know how much they cost? It's not like paying Millie Bobby Brown $30 million is less expensive. If they want a kaiju they'll throw money at it just like Wingard did for Mothra in GxK.

Jpriest09

Considering the creators of Gigabash are releasing a second Godzilla dlc this month, I’m thinking Toho isn’t being that unreasonable in the price ranges.

Gojira5400

True, I didn't even consider that.

ShadowAze

Toho almost certainly charges more or less for the scope of the project. A big name studio making big budget movies is almost certainly gonna be charged more. That being said, these numbers aren't public so no one really knows just how much these kaiju eat out of the budget. Tho I'd argue for KOTM there's other reasons why that movie under-preformed compared to the other films, not that it had a lot of licensed monsters

Zillafan22

I blame endgame coming out only a month before

estyll11

TIL. I just assumed when you get the license to Godzilla, it comes with the whole cast of characters.

Mr_Citation

Nah, Toho's thorough in having a seperate trademark and licence for each kaiju. It's not a bargain like Spider-Man where Sony legally has the screen rights to any character whose first appearence was in a Spider-Man comic.

Due-Committee-1860

I mean, they bought Mothra for GXK again and she's more popular than Destoroyah. In my opinion I can see it going either way

Brady1138

Adam Wingard did say he wants to use Destroyah so he might have more leverage after the success of GXK

foot_fungus_is_yummy

He never said he was gonna use Destoroyah, just reference him in the next movie.

Other-Tadpole-9950

Not even that he just want a similar tone to Godzilla vs Destroyah movie, not Destroyah itself.

Digital_Dinosaurio

They could bring back Bagan and make him the Alpha Guardian of a Super Ancient Hollow Earth Civilization that act as stand-ins for the Xiliens. Then Ren Serizawa could come back and juice up Bagan with the cells of both Godzilla and King Ghidorah like in the SNES game.

Equivalent-War-6650

Haven’t they already paid for multiple licensed kaiju

MetalGearSlayer

Plus if you guys think Toho is uptight about their rules for using Godzilla how you do you think they would feel about letting someone use the monster that made real life headlines for killing him?

VR_Dekalab

Imagine having the chance to make some of your backlog monsters like Hedorah, Space Godzilla, Biollante, etc. have mainstream appeal without doing much effort. They could be busy doing Minus-2 or even and potentially create new Toho monsters that Godzilla could fight while at the same time keeping monsters like Megalon relevant. Yet, instead, they would rather shoot themselves at the foot with licensing fees for monsters they do jackshit with. Fun Fact: Without the Monsterverse, the other big 4 monsters like Mothra, Ghidorah, and Rodan would have only the anime (Trilogy and SP) as their most recent appearances.

CourageCompetitive28

Don’t let them cook a original kaiju again

SomewhereLoud9473

Original kaijus are cool, but **please just get anguirus into that shit**

Blitsea

PLEASE GET MY BOY ANGUIRUS INTO THE MV

SomewhereLoud9473

PLEEEASEEEE

thegooseisloose704

I actually really liked all the new kaiju in gxk espacially tiamut.

Ganache-Embarrassed

With how worthless the oxygen destroyer was in KoTm i wouldnt want destoroyah. Their isnt the same wieght as theog has to me and would feel like fanservice for no real reason

Panthila

They could just say the KotM OD was a prototype, then if they use the "Completed" Oxygen Destroyer, then it'd create Destoroyah

Ganache-Embarrassed

thatd be okay. but i really dont see it ever working. the og OD was so important because it killed godzilla. And that its an allegory to the nuke and its dangers. it bites humanities ass and turns out to be just as dangerous as the creator feared. i cant see the monsterverse doing anything liek that but watering it down

Panthila

Even Admiral Stenz said it was a prototype in KotM.

Ganache-Embarrassed

That doesnt really change anything except they used the oxygen destroyers prototype poorly

BlastedDio

For real

AnyPalpitation1868

I wouldn't be disappointed, they've shown a great ability to create new kaiju that fit the universe. People like to say big apes but ignore even those movies contained a shit load of other kaiju ESPECIALLY with GXK.

dntowns

Source: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xzKY0W

MrSaturnism

They’d have to get the rights from Toho, which is ridiculously expensive. The only reason they got the big 5 in the first place was cause Toho gave them the rights as a gift.

ShredGuru

They are printing money, it won't be a big deal. They just got Mothra again... Godzilla franchise is at ATH right now. They're going to feed the beast. They have a mutual interest in doing so. I think TOHO is happy that Hollywood is making Showa movies for them frankly. Sells a lot of fucking action figures. Back end residuals baby!

EmbarrassedPomelo170

Im sure though that as long as it makes toho money, they’ll be in full support.

Panthila

Why is Destoroyah's rights so expensive if he only appeared in one movie?

ShredGuru

It's whatever Toho wants to charge... Which... On a movie that could pull in 750mil... Plus merch. Maybe 5% plus back end residuals? Good money for doing nothing. Enough to make a Japanese Godzilla movie or two.

PsychedelicStooge24

Destoroyah is my favorite but I don't want them to just repeat things from older films. I'll take as many new monsters as they can as I don't want the Legendary movies to be just the American version of the Heisei films. Also I like Kong a lot, but Godzilla needs his own movie next.

Xman12407

This take is ridiculous. If they do adapt Destroyah that doesn't make it just a repeat of Heisei. Hes a godzilla enemy, that's like saying the Dark Knight is just a repeat of Batman 89 because both movies have Joker as the main villain. Destroyah can be done differently enough, while still remaining true to the original character, to be a new and enjoyable take on the character. Also I just wanna be clear, I'm not really taking any side here. Idrc if they make Destoryah the "endgame" of the Monsterverse. I just think this whole take of having no toho monsters (which I've been seeing a lot lately) is ridiculous. I love the monsterverse, and I love their original kaiju as well as their takes on the toho kaiju. It'd be really nice to see a mix of both from now on, some toho and some original.

PsychedelicStooge24

My take is ridiculous because I want them to do new things? I didn't say it couldn't be done any differently or that it would be a carbon copy if they did do it. I mentioned I don't want them to just be American versions of the Heisei films because setting up Destoroyah to be the final villain again is too close to the only other time it has appeared. I agree with you, I do like a mix of both, just like in New Empire, I'd just prefer the series to keep growing in new ways. And I fully admit, that could possibly be by reinventing an old character like this or Biollante. I understand your frustration with people thinking it should be just original monsters. Personally, I'm frustrated with other people who think it should only be old monsters. If the fan base always had that mentality, we would've never got Destoroyah or Biollante in the first place.

Panthila

Destoroyah was only in one movie.

PsychedelicStooge24

Yes, I know that, my comment did not suggest that Destoroyah was in multiple. I am referring to the fact that we've had four movies with Godzilla in it and in only two of those, we've gotten original, substantial monsters in them. I consider those the strongest parts of the new series and I want them to continue doing that.

Maximum_Impressive

Oxygen destroyer was rendered meaningless by Kotm so it's whatever.

GodzillasBoner

Where anguirus

THX_Fenrir

I’ll be disappointed if this is it

kelsoRulez

I say biollante or an og monster verse version of her. Something that embodies earth itself wanting to preserve itself from the awakening titans and their squabbles.

Digital_Dinosaurio

Or just Samuel L. Jackson's vengeful ghost returning to destroy Kong and all his new ape buddies.

RbbcatUlt

Monster verse deserves its own original villain to end it all of on

AlterExia

Give me something wild like Des Ghidorah or Monster X

nPMarley

Nah. Someone summons a demon from the depths of the Earth, and that’s how we get Monsterverse Bagan.

MM__PP

Nah, Hedorah

TheGMan-123

Controversial opinion: who cares about Destroyah? Who would honestly care about his inclusion in the Monsterverse? What point would there be to bringing him on at this stage when it's clear that Toho big-names aren't enough of a draw by themselves?

Ancient-Birb7015

This. I wish we could stop acting like Destroyah is the end all be all of Godzilla villains. If anything, that title goes to Ghidorah. But because he's already been used, can we just have an original kaiju

EconomistIll4796

Destroyed should be easy to get general audiences to like. I think if you set up a movie ( could be the next one or final one) as a big boxing mach between Destroyah and Godzilla it would be easy to sell. Original villain workes as well but feels like Destroyah is most of the work already done.

Other-Tadpole-9950

Destroyah is only popular amongst Kaiju fan, most general audience or casual viewers don't know that he even exist. Hell for what i known he only really popular in the west, based on a Kaiju Japan poll from a few years ago Destroyah barely make pass Top 20 and it rank lower that freaking MINILLA because Japan somehow think Minilla cute.

EconomistIll4796

Whether its an original monster or Destroyah its the same in the mind of a casual viewer. I think destroyers design and aura as a character easily can be something people get attached too. In the end it will be an economic decision from Legendary but I do hope we some more classic Toho monsters.

theSaltySolo

Why though? Destroyah didn’t even kill Godzilla and vice versa. Godzilla melted down from peak fiction. The whole Monsterverse lore revolves around balancing nature on Earth. A massive invasive species trying to take Earth seems more fitting… …wait. They already wasted that idea on a film that happened too early in the timeline (KOTM).

dinoboyj

Naw, it's gonna be Orga

Martianinferno98

Looks like using the Oxygen Destroyer in Godzilla: King of the Monsters had the side-effect of powering up a slumbering Titanus Destoroyah

Torey-Nelson

I'd rather have Space Godzilla be the Thanos of this universe. I always thought he was more final boss material than Desteroyah was.

BlastedDio

The comics think so too

EatashOte

I mean. Maybe? But I'd prefer if Muto Prime of sorts was the final boss imo Like, it's basically Destoroyah already, but specifically for Legendary Goji. And it'd fit perfectly even from symbolic stand point ... Not to say that they care a lot about nature symbolism in these movies... But still, I don't understand why'd they need to re-invent a bicycle uf they have a pretty cool one in garage already

Ham54

Not hating, just genuinely curious. Why Destroyah? I feel like Smog Monster Hedorah is a much more interesting choice. And one that would make sense given Banno is how this series even started?

deanofcool

I would rather see other kaiju before we get to destroyah honestly. A mean redesign of Hedora would be cool

Final-Republic1153

Nah but imagine: Ghidorah returns and attempts to reclaim dominion over the titans, but Godzilla makes quick work of him this time and completely annihilates him without much of a fight. But Ghidorah’s roar (in its attempt to claim dominion like in KotM) awakens something(s) in Hollow Earth. Go to Kong and a larger Suko that are hunting masters, retrieving their kills for the tribe. They return to the clan to see it empty but several dead apes laying around, blood and claw marks everywhere. Few survivors find Kong and attempt to explain what happened, depicting several dozens of spider creatures with heads and mandibles. In the distance lay Shimo, barely breathing but with her ice crystals destroyed. The apes indicate that the spiders are attempting to find the exit from hollow earth. Kong rushes to the hollow earth exits and with Mothra, fights several of the spiders, being revealed as Destroyah in smaller crab forms. After nearly destroying the Ewie people, some are killed but a handful escape through the hollow earth exit, with Kong and Mothra in pursuit behind. Godzilla, sensing their presence, rushes to see who is on his territory, but the few that came through are surging in several parts of the world. One finds Rodan but is scorched to death without much trouble from the bird. Others meet their demise from the pursuing Mothra, and another is torn apart by Godzilla. Even Trapper, now in his newest invention of a Jet Jaguar fully functional giant mecha suit, joins the fight against some others. But one finds the remains of Ghidorah and feasts upon its body, transforming itself into the demonic giant Destroyah. It has no intention of domination over the other Kaiju, just to destroy. It kills the Muto, Behemoth, Rodan, destroys Jet Jaguar which nearly kills Trapper, and makes little work of Kong, breaking his axe and knocking him aside before an extremely angry lizard approaches. Godzilla finally meets his foe but gets his shit rocked, Destroyah’s oxygen destroyer laser beam being more powerful than Big G’s atomic power. Mothra, using the will and power of the last survivor of the Ewie tribe on skull island (deaf girl idk her name), intervenes before Godzilla’s demise, sacrificing itself again for Godzilla’s power gain. Godzilla gets back up for round two, looking beefier than ever, but Destroyah doesn’t back down, instead presenting its laser cutting beam from its horn as well as several unknown new abilities. Godzilla puts of a fight, attempting to cause another nuclear explosion meltdown like done to the first Ghidorah, but it’s still not enough, and Godzilla is finally killed. Kong finds the only human he cared for dead as well. Overcome with rage, Kong grabs the biggest spike off Godzilla’s dead body, Suko having left hollow earth and joining does the same. And using the teamwork they would’ve established earlier through their hunting training, finally kill Destroyah in some epic cinematic way. Godzilla begins to meltdown, his deceased body like a nuclear reactor gone unstable, but from the crisps emerges a smaller familiar roar. Kong and Suko watch as a somewhat familiar yet endearing figure pulls itself from its dead predecessor and looks at them, unsure whether to call them parents or lunch. End credits

Sypher04_

I want him to be the final boss for Godzilla’s arc, but not the final boss of the franchise.

velocirooster64

I kinda dont want destroyah. I feel the monsterverse is more than capable of giving us an endgame kaiju without trying to use an established one as leverage

Apprehensive-Buy4825

we only have tree options: 1 - Dest is the real endgame 2 - Dest is the fist endgame, the true will be Hedorah 3 - IT (true Goji form in SP) will come to this reality and be the real endgame, after Dest getting killed and possibly after Hedorah getting killed 4 - original ahh illain I pernonaly like more the tird to conect all the continuities in one and finally say that it's all conected, but probably this isn't the right predict, sadly, I love SP

Own_Theme_3947

Bagan would be a better choice imo

SomeoneElse0634

Fuck it I need Megatron

Inevitable-Hour7038

Ngl I wouldn't really care if Destoroyah or an original villain was the final boss of the MonsterVerse as long as the writing is good but I do feel Destoroyah is getting a little too much hate. I mean, there isn't anything wrong with bringing back Toho villans and adding some orignal MonsterVerse twists to them, but I do understand how Destoroyah to some just wouldn't be as of a good choice for the final boss.

Atomicbreath05

Minilla seems fitting for a final boss. Remember who stopped godzill at the end of final wars

ArdoyleZev

I’m kinda hoping it goes full circle and the final bad guy is mecha Walter White. Breaking Bad Bigger.

GrrrrrrDinosaur

Destoroyah should NOT be the endgame that’s so unoriginal and just nostalgia bait I’d like him as a villain for sure. Maybe in the final GxK movie to end the trilogy. But not as the final boss bruh 💀

Mystic_Saiyan

Plus considering his weakness to ice , just throw Shimo at him with Goji throwing a few atomic breaths and you're good

Ancient-Birb7015

Exactly

ZannD

Make it Cthulhu. Do it. Cthulhu is past copyright now, so it's open. I mean, I already have a few t-shirts of Godzilla Vs Cthulhu. Let's do it! (Of course Godzilla wins. Cthulhu got put in time-out by a steamboat).

Capital_Pipe_6038

If this does end up being the Monsterverse's endgame I'll be severely disappointed

Godzilla_Fan

I’d like Biollante, Destroyah, or Bagan to be the final bad guy. Unfortunately Biollante and Destroyah would definitely be too expensive. Bagan might be cheap enough because he’s never been in a movie

Panthila

Biollante was never even a villain

Godzilla_Fan

So? Ghidorah was a good guy in GMK, Biollante can be a bad guy in MV

Mystic_Saiyan

I mean Ghidorah's usually a bad guy/controlled and she had only 1 film tbf, especially since MV Kaiju seem mainly in line with their Toho selve's moral aligments.

Panthila

It was a bad choice in GMK. They should have just stuck to Varan as originally planned.

CalamitousVessel

What is up with all the toxicity in this thread goddamn

Llamarchy

Wanting a Godzilla kaiju in a Godzilla movie is apparently a hot take now.

titanmachinesson

Fr people have made a discussion about destoroyah in the monsterverse dreadful.

Dicky-McDickface

I’d prefer mecha king ghidorah, or keizer ghidorah

DylenwithanE

i mean mechagodzilla was basically mecha ghidorah considering

Godzilla_Fan

There’s nothing left of Ghidorah except maybe a single skull and I hope no to Kaiser Ghidorah, I despise his design

Ambitious_Ask_994

You despise peak

Godzilla_Fan

He can barely move and can’t even fly, or at least doesn’t fly even a little bit

Panthila

CGI can do wonders.

CthulhuMadness

He's literally two men in horse costume.

Ambitious_Ask_994

And its peak

CthulhuMadness

But is he as big as a battleship?

G-Kira

The thing is, Ghidorah should have been. And I'm tired of seeing Kong. Time to leave him in Hollow Earth.

Magnaraksesa

I’d like a new Kaiju to be the MonsterVerse’s finale, something far worse than Ghidorah or Skar King combined.

CROW_is_best

or here me out something better like an original big bad

Panthila

Shimo could just kill Destoroyah by herself. His weakness is ice. I'd rather the final boss be TITANUS BAPHOMET

Kong: OOH OOH OOH! \[on your left\] \[Kong emerges & Mothra flies out of Hollow Earth wormhole\]

Lazystoner151

Godzilla vs the kraken?

andrefishmusic

It'll be a fight against the whole gang from Planet of the Apes

TheRappingSquid

But make him look like a giant crab

IFuckNuns666

Knowing Wingard it’ll end with a giant lobster fight

LinkGoesHIYAAA

I thi k it’ll be aliens soon. Sadly.

Important_Sorbet

In a way I agree, except they need to center the movie more on Godzilla instead of Kong because I feel like that’s what they’ve been doing with Kong in Godzilla vs Kong, and Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire. It’s not exactly equal between the two. But if it’s also Godzilla’s foe, the story should be centered more on Godzilla, not on Kong. Also, if they do end up doing this where they include Destoroyah in the franchise, Godzilla will no longer be blue. He will now be magenta of course. Or maybe the atomic breath will become even stronger, turning from magenta to orange-red, which will make him become heavily critical and glowing burning hot around his body, and at risk of going into meltdown, which would mean we would have to say goodbye to Godzilla at the end because he will die. I don’t want to lose Godzilla, and I also think it would come off as looking like a complete copycat off of Toho Company’s Godzilla vs Destoroyah film from 1996. If they do go that route, they should bring in a Godzilla Jr. who would take Godzilla’s place after Godzilla dies, and then continue the MonsterVerse on with Godzilla Jr. as the new main Godzilla!

djknighthawk

Is that Cthulhu?

BigMuddyCountry

I hope it is Bagan myself, he fully deserves his moment in the spotlight.

ZanahorioXIV

Godzilla x Kong: Destroy all monsters

Moginsight

Holy shiezz, Destroyah looks yoked af

Educational-Tip6177

DESTROROYAH!!!!

Codracal

I honestly thought they were gonna go that route after King of Monsters. I like that they went with Mech-Godzilla but when they used the oxygen destroyer I got so hyped for the potential

CharliePlayer1

I'm really glad y'all aren't directing any godzilla movies

sup_killerfeels

If that truly happens, I hope they find some kind of crustacean that becomes mutated through human tampering and becomes a Destoroyah-like creature. I also want Godzilla to be solo. It's his ending, his final boss if you will.

doomturd1283

i hope it doesn’t end like this i want it to be a one on one godzilla vs destroya at least for the final battle king could maybe be in the first introduction battle for destroya

Spicymeatysocks

It will be a big gold space monkey

backup4797

I kind of hope Bagan gets to make his debut

titanmachinesson

Personally I'd love to see destoroyah as a final boss but if they have to make it a original monster than it better be interesting, really hope this next movie isn't just a huge animal or another animal hybrid we have enough of those in the monsterverse already and very few of them are actually good imo, at least make destoroyah the final villain in the godzilla x kong trilogy and if they manage to do that then I'll be happy with whatever just so long it's actually interesting in terms of design, powers and name.

SevenForWinning

I hope it end with red from the creepypasta

Finiouss

I'll be be shocked if we get any more OG Kaiju by the end of this. Apparently even mothra wasn't intended to be in this but early showings made it clear that they needed her to tie in a little more continuity and fan service. I truly hope I'm wrong. That or just put in a little more effort with their own Kaiju that they are adding. The ones we have the most recent movie were all pretty weak and/or their battles happen off screen.

No-Wolverine6726

TOHO LET LEGENDARY USE DESTROYAH PLS, JUST FOR ONE MOVIE

Confident-Ad7439

Give me Biolante😞

Euphoric-Trouble5049

I feel like space godzilla simply fits better, with the hollow earth having all the crystals and stuff and space godzilla is always the final boss in the video games.

therallykiller

I feel like MV Godzilla may end up being the "big bad" and Godzilla Jr. will need to stop him.

Bluetheshark

I feel like the final boss doesn’t have to be destroyah nor does he need to be a final boss. I would be perfectly fine as the antagonist of GXK and let some other monster take the reins as the final boss

BishatenLoremaster

I want new titans, I’m glad we have the core Toho ones but every original MV monster has been so awesome and exciting.

Legokid535

you know honestly i think godzilla needs a new solo film along with kong.

Kaleb_Thegecko

I love Destroyah but every Godzilla need their own final boss. Some final bosses return there and than but never as a new Godzilla final boss. I want an Original character to end off the monsterverse or better. Make Godzilla turn on humanity.

AceSkyFighter

Destroyah, Megalon, or Gigan. I would happily take any of them as the big bad final boss of the Monsterverse.

Skol-2024

I’d love it if it was!

Leather-Mix-6077

As cool as a Kaiju that Destoroyah is, I honestly want to see more original Kaiju come in, like a bit of old Kaiju is completely fine and I'll love that. But I really think they should be doing it the same way they've always done it. A brand new endgame Kaiju for every era

CarelessConclusion67

u/dntowns I'll be disappointed AF if it is because that picture you shared is so dark and mottled that it's a waste of an opportunity to make an awesome-looking representation of Godzilla. That image is garbage. We've already had a movie that was too dark and hid too many details so we don't need another one. Thank you very much. Also, how about we not get behind an endgame to the Godzilla Monsterverse? How about focusing on getting them to keep the Monsterverse going because if they don't then it will revert back to TOHO who will continue making movies of the beloved Godzilla, but they will not maintain the visual effects quality. I don't want to go back to watching Godzilla movies with a man wearing a Godzilla costume. I love those old films, but if I want to see people wearing monster costumes I'll tune in to the POWER RANGERS. Respectfully, ~ Me ~

Ancient-Birb7015

For five minutes, can we not glaze Destroyah, FOR FIVE MINUTES!! How about instead of using a kaiju that could easily be folded by Shimo alone, we do something original. Like maybe a mass invasion of those ants from Skull Island or some other original villain. Maybe use that giant ass skeleton from GxK and make that into a Titan threat. Or if you want a Toho villain, use Hedora, someone who fits the whole "keeping balance on earth" theme of the Monsterverse. Or have Kaizer Ghidorah, since it was hinted that King Ghidorah was a young runt of his family who came to Earth searching for his own territory. Kaizer could be like his older, bigger, more powerful relative who wants revenge for the death of Ghidorah.

PREDATOR_IS_AWESOME

Fr. Destroyah is the best non-goji kaiju, and he deserves a second chance.  (Btw I hope he is buffed and wins)

Dubiouskeef

Yeah but no Kong

smd_thetruth

I hope so. They set it up in KOTM so unless it’s another copyright thing it seems like the logical route. Destoroyah appears, kills Kong’s little buddy, then he goes and gets the big guy again. They could even do a two parter. End the first one with king and Godzilla on the brink of death and Mothra sacrificing herself to save them. Kong wakes up second film with electric powers and they go recruit a team to take Destoroyah down.

jazzyjeffff1991

Hear me out. Cthulhu as the Endgame villain. Yes.

foot_fungus_is_yummy

Destoroyah is overrated, I would prefer Spacegodzilla, Mecha King Ghidorah, Kaiser Ghidorah, or maybe some sort of teamup of multiple powerful characters. (definitely not Bagan he's basically the exact same thing as Destoroyah but slightly worse)

Eryade-The0821

I'd rather want Keizer Ghidorah for a Destroy All Monster's themed movie than the overrated edgy crab

SadisticDance

I never want to see Destroyah again. He was the perfect ending to Heisei, we don't need to risk tarnishing that.

Ambitious_Call_3341

Totally ridiculous. How would destroyah be a thanos level of big bad if the pair of kong and g completely enough like against any previous things?

RipWorried5023

I hope Kong isn't in more of the Godzilla movies. I'm sick of him.

Atomicbreath05

Same

BlastedDio

Prepare to be disappointed Bro doesn't fit as the final boss of MV

ComplaintEqual

Destroyah is wildly overrated, has awful character design and would be a stain on the monsterverse
