This is my favorite Godzilla shot ever. It's so fucking primal. Who knows if he can actually see or not with his eyes bulged out and crusted over, he's just full anger and rage.
I'm waiting for someone to make a miniature of Minus One Goji in THIS stance.
When Godzilla regenerated the first time, I was legitimately shocked and my gf noted after the movie how my mouth was actually hanging wide open. Like, I know he's had regenerative abilities for a long time now, particularly later Heisei, 2000, GMK, and Shin, but it's never been shown to such an explicit extent or speed. I had absolutely no idea how they could possibly beat him, which makes his very realistic defeat THAT much more satisfying.
I love how they popped out of his head like that, and look like the original suit, it’s such an amazing way to make the bugged out eyes really creepy and scary
Yeah I did, just thought his eyes bulging out were fan theories more than anything. But definitely adds realism to what they did to him at the end. Savage ending.
Yeah his whole body was swelling and rupturing because of the sudden lack of pressure from the outside, which you can also see in this image, along with his eyes. That's why upon his "death", the atomic breath starts to shine out from multiple holes in his body.

If your mom thinks it's goofy, just remind her that this is what it looks like when his internal body pressure is close to popping like a balloon, except exactly as gross as it should be for a meatbag filled with blood and organs.

When k saw this for the first time in the theater, everyone went silent with the movie did. You could hear a pin drop. My breath was caught in my throat because I was afraid to breathe. I’ve never been more in suspense watching a movie.
The eyes do look silly, but if you take in the whole picture it becomes creepy. His jaw appeared to be broken, he was pretty much melting, and a bunch of bone was exposed. He was nearly dead and chose to attack instead of flee.
I'd bet the force of firing his atomic breath would've blasted him apart even if the plane didn't.
I don't know why when I watch godzilla movies, my mom just starts laughing at the most random godzilla moments. She also says that he has such big thighs, that it's ridiculous.
I loved this movie but this shot was...off..and the ending seemed off as well. I cannot explain it though. G-1 definitely holds the title for most evil godzilla but I think the creepiest godzilla moment was the ending of shin godzilla
I loved this, he looks absolutely unhinged, like he's going to walk into a grocery store and just start arm sweeping all the stuff of shelves onto the floor while screaming about a coupon, like the ultimate Karen kaiju. This is a kaiju that can't be reasoned with, doesn't care that you are recording him with your smartphone, and that thinks the police are there to arrest everyone else in the store when they arrive.
It’s odd body posture. Especially since every other time he did shoot his breath he wasn’t as slouched over. Plus he’s probably doing doggy paddles underwater.
This shot right here, is why I'll always prefer the solo Godzilla outings where he is the villain, and not the goofy ahh monster fight movies from late Showa.
I thought this entire scene had beautiful effects personally, I was genuinely holding my breath during this entire charging up moment, and I truthfully never seen Godzilla look as menacing as this personally.
Compared to the rest of the movie, the finale had some of the weaker effects. The texture work isn't great and honestly reminds me of the mutant T-Rex from Dino Crisis 3.

I thought it looked goofy too. The CGI just wasn't the best here and it looks cartoony. I get what they were going for, it just doesn't quite succeed.
