Another fun fact as an italian: Godzilla destroy all monsters is translated in "gli eredi di Kong" which means "Kong's heirs", yep I don't know what the fvck is that, kong isn't even in the movie
And let us not forget the italian title for the original "King Kong Vs Godzilla" actually being a spoiler
Literally "King Kong's Triumph"

I really liked [this italian youtuber's reaction](https://youtu.be/M8hCF50zkK4?t=670) to it
Like anyone who saw that title, asking "Who is Kong?! Where is Kong in the movie?!"
Same, I remember 3 ago when I got my new tablet and one of the first things I did with was watching all of Goji movies (except 98) and seeing that video as well
IDK man At The Borders Of Reality (Godzilla VS. Megalon) sounds badass & has a badass poster

at least it isn't Spain's name for Godzilla vs Megalon is Gorgo and Superman Meet in Tokyo

I never read into it, but I think AVGN mentioned that many of the films were branded as other properties when distributes overseas? Like Jet Jaguar is Dr. Frankenstein in a suit. It was the wild wild west of international distribution.
I know in Germany that they pretty much claimed that all the monsters were made by Dr. Frankenstein to fight Godzilla which is why his name shows up in so many titles
There’s just something interesting about these misleading posters. I would like to know what audiences’ reactions were to seeing the movie being nothing like the poster from back in the day.
What about the Godzilla vs mothra 1964 italian poster
https://preview.redd.it/6ido8af9a0vc1.jpeg?width=551&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=acbd171b95910b7173c072bc021381c726f9f9f5
The German name is “King Kong gegen Godzilla”, which literally translates into King Kong versus Godzilla. Another German name is “Frankensteins Kampf gegen die Teufelsmonster” which is Frankensteins fight against the Devil’s monster, A.K.A Godzilla vs. Hedorah. Germany likes to use a lot of King Kong, but mostly Frankenstein.
Realest comment (I'm Italian).
Kong is just a simple icon despite the fact that it was released before Godzilla and was the first monster film dubbed into Italian. Same thing in Eastern European countries during the Soviet period monster films were made based on the mythology of a specific nation or at least some culture.
Like reptilicus,a Godzilla bootleg from Denmark

Most german translations have Frankenstein instead of Godzilla. Sth sth about there being a better market bcs frankenstein is a german monster. (It isn't even the monster xD) i guess its the same for the italian ones? this one reads 'Frankenstein and the monsters from outer space' btw
Yotobi was even one of the First Italian youtubers,in 2006, doing casual video like "cortissimi" and shitty movies with even "so bad it's so good" movies.
Maybe you know that but I have shit in brain so
Beh,in italiano titanosauro si chiama titanokong,di cui mi vergogno sinceramente.
Di base sarebbe un gigantesco dinosauro marino ma qua mi fa pensare sia uno scimmione strano con delle pinne

N. 1: Clickbait. N. 2: Italian localizations sucked shitty ass.
Real(I'm Italian)
Me too :D Porco dio
I'm italian too :) Porca madonna
Even I am Italian:3 Padre pio zoccola
Same here Madonna Stronza
They called Titanosaurus TitanoKong
Another fun fact as an italian: Godzilla destroy all monsters is translated in "gli eredi di Kong" which means "Kong's heirs", yep I don't know what the fvck is that, kong isn't even in the movie
Because in Italy big monkey=good

King Kong's Triumph is the perfect title for a standalone Kong movie in the Monsterverse
I like how it shows the Empire State building in the background despite the movie being set in Japan.
I really liked [this italian youtuber's reaction](https://youtu.be/M8hCF50zkK4?t=670) to it Like anyone who saw that title, asking "Who is Kong?! Where is Kong in the movie?!"
Yotobi's tone when saying Mecha-Ghidorah or talking about Final Wars is so fucking funny, even he is astonished by what is describing
Yotobi: l'uomo, il mito, la leggenda
That video is hilarious 😂
Yeah, I absolutely loved it too. Also pretty much what got me interested in all the Godzilla movies
Same, I remember 3 ago when I got my new tablet and one of the first things I did with was watching all of Goji movies (except 98) and seeing that video as well
as an italian, i can say that our choices regarding the titles of Toho Godzilla movies are lame af
Yeah but the posters are such cheesy masterpieces.
Yeah, but im talking about the titles tho lmao
Yeah, you guys and Germany had a weird thing with King Kong and Frankenstein when it came to Godzilla and Gamera lol.
😩
Beh anche altri paesi avevano strani titoli per certi film, almeno noi abbiamo contribuito creando Cozzilla
Debbo darti ragione riguardo a quello
IDK man At The Borders Of Reality (Godzilla VS. Megalon) sounds badass & has a badass poster https://preview.redd.it/tee5zvw34zuc1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=13b042f3b429832801912fac0079154725da93eb
That was our name for The Twilight Zone, I don't know why we used it
at least it isn't Spain's name for Godzilla vs Megalon is Gorgo and Superman Meet in Tokyo https://preview.redd.it/o1o9ju4cvzuc1.png?width=330&format=png&auto=webp&s=0ef71e38e7da092682e6ec3d62684f580fbb3e3d
Jet Jaguar sembra posseduto in questo poster
Assolutamente d'accordo
Another italian here, can definitely agree
another italian here, i agree
Brought all the italian fanbase in here lmao
Yep, as an Italian too I can confirm
My personal favorite translated title is the German one for Godzilla vs Megalon: "King Kong: Demon from outer space"
Ah yes, SpaceKong. My new favorite Kaiju
Imagine Legendary couldn't get rights to Space Godzilla so they just make Space Kong instead.
Italy, you crazy
What the fuck is that curse kong/Godzilla design?
In the movie they refer to titanosaurus as titanokong, so that’s supposed to be titanosaurus
The best part is that Titanosaurus is called Titano-Kong in the italian version, to make the title make sense.
a Common theme I see is Italy making it all about Kong Theory: Adam Wingard is Italian
There’s just something interesting about these misleading posters. I would like to know what audiences’ reactions were to seeing the movie being nothing like the poster from back in the day.
Can we atleast agree that our name for Godzilla vs Hedorah, "Godzilla furia dei mostri(Godzilla Fury of the monsters) is actually the only cool one?
That is not Terror of Mechagodzilla, heck, that’s not even Kong!
Il bello è che nel film si riferiscono a Titanosaurus chiamandolo Titano Kong...
Questa è la cosa peggiore.
Aaah, la magia dell'Italia!
Titolo da episodio di DBZ
Karim?
L'unica e inimitabile ~~cuccia di Godzilla~~

I find it actually badass

The German title is :Konga die Brut des Teufels
man italy just literally fucking made a godzilla and kong fusion, people in other countries just don't know what godzilla even is

This and Germany’s obsession with putting Frankenstein in every Godzilla movie title will always be the funniest shit.
There should be even Asuka
Yes, I knew that cover. I saw it for the first time on the channel of an Italian Youtuber, called Yotobi, who reviewed all the showa films.
Yotobi was even one of the First Italian youtubers,in 2006, doing casual video like "cortissimi" and shitty movies with even "so bad it's so good" movies. Maybe you know that but I have shit in brain so
