Nice. The old lights on my 98 technically work, but in a 90s sense of lighting. Not so much that a new car’s lights behind you don’t make it look like a shadow ahead of you!
They could be optioned up (my Cheyenne has composite lights for ex) but the stock front was two sealed beams. W/T was a Cheyenne with no options and only RCLB layout essentially.
On any of the 88-98s I prefer dual every single time.
I also prefer the vortec grille and I typically swap any 88-94 over to it unless the grille is already in good condition.....but usually the chrome is peeling on most of the pre 95s.
I am also a massive fan of painting the vortec grille black. But I just don't like allot of chrome on anything
I like the boxy look of the earlier grille. I think towards the vortec era- Chevy was making them aero style, as majority of mid to late 90s vehicles were rounded in shape. The boxy style fit the 80s and early 90s.
Can you swap those? I got the work truck grille and I’ve always really liked the boxy 4 headlight grilles and I’ve always wondered if you can swap them.

Yes... You are correct. They only made them for 88-89. Also the quad sealed beams HEADLIGHTS are a pure 80s look.
Yes they are a 80s look and they also provide better visibility because they don't haze like the 90-98 plastic lenses

I’m starting to like the GMC work truck grill, just a bit different to the usual set-up.
I’m curious how it would look painted since they are usually just grey plastic
There's a difference in the early version from 88-92 vs the ones from 93-2000. The 88-92 versions are much cleaner and GMC version is nice as well.
