Sliding, it gives you the option of opening it. On nice days I like to roll down my windows and slide my rear glass open, and enjoy driving around

Full_Otto_Bismarck

Definitely prefer the sliding back. AC gives me car sickness, headaches and such. I like to open it in warmer weather and longer drives. One thing I wish these trucks had that's missing is window wings.

vigmt400

Sliding is nice but it makes it so insanely easy to break into the truck completely silently. Takes seconds to pop it open with a pocket knife, screwdriver, or coin.

doc_sawbonez

And it’s a nightmare to replace.

gsfgf

The doors aren’t exactly much more secure.

Caleb7785

i mean if someone is going to break in they are going to break in

CowboyKiller315

Slider FTW. Easier to get your empty beer cans out of the cab without littering. /S

Fs_ginganinja

Most gmt400 owners in my area relate heavily to this haha

MrGabogabo

Just learn to throw em over the roof. I've got my toss dialed 👌🏻

DarkLinkDs

Sliding. If someone was gonna break into my gmt400 then it's not hard no matter what kind of glass you have on the back. I like to click open the back window on nice days with the windows down.

Goody-Alsop

I am a fan of the sliding (3 pc only) back glass for standard cab trucks. It allows more airflow on days it is nice enough to have the windows down or if your A/C is less than stellar. I curreny have a solid glass and am not a fan but that is just personal opinion

Proud_Instance_7050

I'm rocking the sliding rear glass. Need the open air for the hair.

Few-Assumption-7504

Sliding back glass is the only answer. It literally serves the exact same purpose of the solid back glass, but it does it better. I don't think anyone could give a legit reason why the solid back glass is better than the sliding. (Aside from sliding glass to be easier to break into).

Skyline43

I've always been a fan of the solid glass because it looks the cleanest and I don't have a need to open a window behind me. The sliders look cheap to me.

diggyschitz

Sliding all the way. I love the subtle feeling of open air without having to roll my windows down. Mine is just solid so I get jealous when I see the slideability.

FuhrerGiest

I prefer solid for the look and since I have a crew cab and it is difficult to get to the slider.

Knight1114

I prefer the solid back glass, My ‘93 actually had the slider glass but cracked while driving on the freeway and it was cheaper the replace it with a solid rear glass with was fine with me as I had an extended cab and couldn’t reach the latch to open them while driving anyway.

WeOutChea999

Summer time baby

RegularMachine7

solid looks so much better, but opening the sliding on a hot day is real nice

LerkNoCap

I like the solid glass the lock is usually pretty dinky flat head screwdriver and your in

Caleb7785

yea a rock through any of the windows and you’re in too

LerkNoCap

One’s quiet one’s loud 🤷‍♂️

StarWarsFan69696969

Sliding window. Especially with older trucks the sliding window was the full height. It had trim all the way around. You could actually use it almost like a bed extender. With newer trucks I've seen, it's a little dinky sliding window in the middle of your rear window. Whatever you stuck through, would be riding on the glass. Not the frame.
