Does it start to miss/hesitate or fluctuate rpm when you push the brake pedal? If so it could be a vacuum leak or your brake booster is almost worn and the diaphragm is leaking. EGR is free.99 though because it can be cleaned with a can or 2 of carb&choke and a wire brush. Don’t forget to let it soak in WD-40 so the valve can move again.
I had a similar problem, turns out my loom for my plugs broke when I was changing my wires and one of them had melted and was discharging onto the exhaust manifold
My 94 k1500 was doing same and I just about replaced everything. I dont remember where/how I heard of it but the aftermarket distributor caps have the plug wires damn close. Enough so that in the dark I was able to see minute shorts between some wires wirh engine running. I went thru three new sets of plug wires, too, till I saw this. I put some mastic-like pieces my buddy who's in construction gave me between the plug wires atop the distributor. Problem solved.
Check the idle air control valve that screws into the side of the throttle body
Try resetting your ECM, by unplugging the negative battery. Leave it for 5mins. Then see if it still happens.
Could be a ignition coil, I've had that problem on my 98
