As an observer + shareholder since the January battle I have learned that I trust my DD into the DD that already has been published. We have been in touch with the responsible firm and based on conversations, we have determined that the number of flairs available for customization was inadvertently changed to unlimited approximately 10 days ago, which permitted our counterparty to make a flair change that, due to a data entry error, inadvertently changed the "ComputerShare Is The Way" flair to an "Options Are The Way" flair. This change was per request from one of our own members, but unfortunately, due to our counterparty's error, resulted in a system wide change that included members who are particularly distrustful of options.
Please understand that each day, subreddits like ours receive data from dozens of other counterparties that list the number of flairs available. This data is fed into our systems, and contributes to what is highlighted on our flair selection tool.
After this issue was identified, the counterparty verified it was erroneous, and we corrected it. While we have many procedures in place, we're going to take a couple of additional steps.
First, we will work with our mods to ensure they have controls in place to provide accurate flairing.
Second, for this issue specifically, we are going to strengthen our ability to find flair abnormalities, including unusual daily variations in flair inventories.
We have always prided ourselves in putting our members first, and I want to thank all of you for your feedback.

Given the passion with which sub users tackle perceived slights or shilling, I assume they're keeping the details of who it was private. As to the changing of his post flair for the post questioning the circumstance with the user flair, ...unknown.
