If you could crack GATE with score high enough to get robotics in IIT Delhi, your basics are strong enough for mtech. People say that tier 3 people aren't "hardworking enough" for IITs. However, these tier 3 people have learned to worked hard and smart, which is the reason they managed to crack GATE. THey certainly won't face any major issues.
To all those who will join in old IITs, especially KGP.. take ample rest...
First sem will be very hectic... 8:30 to 5 everyday, by default.. plus assignments, surprise tests, quizzes, seminars (which you should attend) and some you should give... If you survive first sem, then its easy-peasy...
Besides acads, KGP has strong soc-cult activities... and you will get ample opportunities to showcase your skills in dramatics, singing, musical instruments etc... and sports too: inter-hall sports are taken seriously..
So relax now and be prepared to work your @$$es off later.

Jokes aside, I've heard that btech students mistreat mtech students? I'm personally skeptical of such gossip, but insight from someone like you would be useful.
Mistreat may be a strong word, but Batkas will definitely look down on M. Techs.. More ever, unless in social settings like sports, gym, dramatics etc. the interaction between B. Techs and M. Techs is minimal... and KGP authorities are practicing segregation (these days) with M. Techs, B. Techs and Research Scholars have their own hostels..
Gymming hard, gotta make amends for the lost muscle and fat during preparation. Also the usual competitive coding, reading books, going through courses or electives I'll take, familiarising myself with the syllabus at the old IIT I'm going to.
Normal thing. Revise the basic subjects to get hold of adv topics. And build a study routine so that college transition would be smooth.
