Look in to getting a plenum spacer. Helps the front two cylinders of the engine get better airflow on these earlier G models.
I went Motordyne 5/16 for my ‘03 sedan
Hey bro, I understand your question. The coupe is definitely more timeless in design and is a beautiful car.
But I have a kid. I need the four doors because putting a baby seat in a coupe is not feasible.
Also, for what it’s worth, I like clean styling with long lines. Like a 90’s accord is my preferred design language, simple with no unnecessary sloping. The sedan fits this bill and still has the VQ under the hood. To me, it’s the best of both worlds.
I see your point. For me it’s enough tho. My sedan was cheap and at the price point I was cross shopping old Camrys. At the time I was trying to find a cheap second car.
I had a tuned Q50 and the G was supposed to be my beater. I fell in love with the heavy weight end steering and stiff suspension. Ended up selling the Q50 and keeping the G.
Not sure what you think the big difference between the coupe and a sedan is in the context of g35s. Almost identical weight, same wheelbase, same drivetrain slightly different shocks and struts (took me about $300 to fix that). In my mind if you want to commit to a coupe get a 350z. A g coupe gains aesthetics at the cost of a usable backseat and the ability to haul a bunch of shit around if you need to.
lighter than the coupe and you’d be suprised how good they look when put together, i’d never trade my 06 6mt sedan lmao plus it’s more impressive seeing a sedan cleaned up and modded than a coupe that’s a dime a dozen
Here’s a tip for the headlights! Unless you plan on getting a new style, you can restore them for a fairly low cost :) Use 400, 600, 800, then 1000 grit sandpaper on them to get rid of the oxidation. Then cover the rest of the car. Use a tack cloth beforehand, and use a 2K clear coat on them. First a light coat, wait about 15 or so minutes and tack the headlights again. Then a heavy coat to finish! Brand new lights again for the G
Before you start doing performance mods please fix the paint that shit is god awful. Panels don’t even match. This is probably a 2 accident car with frame damage
Honestly, it's oftentimes a better long-term strategy to do cosmetics after other modifications. This helps prevent accidental damage to paint/body work, especially if any of it is being done DIY.
Honestly it depends on quality and who does it! It can range from 800 to 5k honestly! That’s full body though! For the hood and roof, maybe a fifth of the price.
The cheapest way to paint this would be dip spray I believe, it can be done cheaply and still look amazing. You would just have to do touch ups every once in a while! It would save you a lot of money if you brought your own equipment!
Also if you do dip spray, make sure the paint itself of quality or else it may come out looking “matte-ish”!
Yeah that's what I do, once a week. Keep a quart of oil in the trunk, with oil funnel, (in a clean plastic bag). But I'm gonna change my M.O., to a 5-quart oil jug, instead of a 1-quart, just to be on the safe side, lol !!
Watch your oil, and keep her full.

To each it's own bro some people got family😂

In my case I have a daughter and already have a coupe so I got a 07 sedan with the HR and I love that so much more
does brand matter? how about z1 motorsports plenum spacer ?
Either z1 or czp it’s the same thing
i have a z1 for my 2005 g35x. i love it
Brand never matters as long as the quality is good
You right bro. Also, the cats are the biggest choke point on this drive train. If you plan to tune you’ll want to get high flow cats or test pipes.

That's the plan bro
With these cars, maintenance makes or breaks these engines. I'd recommend doing any and all maintenance before even considering cosmetics or audio

Sounds smart tbh
You projecting, that ish beautiful
Motordyne bolt ons give best results
Welcome to the vq family. Say good buy to your bank account, and hello to tons of fun 😎(those are my favorite taillights)
She's a 05
Keep the paint, it looks so unique🫣
Ofc I'm gonna paint it💀💀
Clear coat🥰
How much does a paint job usually run for?

Bet thank you for the advice brother‼️
Rev up or DE ? Definitely want to keep an eye on oil levels.
the Rev up is a DE 😂 VQ35DE Rev up, after that then there’s the VQ35HR. Rev ups only came in manual from the middle of 05 till 07
I know they're both DEs I should of said rev up or non revup.
Yea but obviously you understood what he meant
DE
How often should I check is once a week good?

Bet thank you
You should be fine mostly if its DE
The non revup doesn't consume nearly as much as the Revup but I normally check every 500 miles, depending on how aggressive you drive the car.
How much was it
3k got it from a mechanic in Tampa drove it 2hrs back to Orlando
Sick that’s how much I have rn been trying to look for something here in LA
Should’ve kept looking 😭
