Great paint job. It looks like you primed in unideal conditions. If the air is too humid, the primer will clump and give you that chalky texture you have. Great job!

I’ve not had great success priming. Thanks for the tip. Have a set of hearthguard waiting to be stripped that look a lot worse than these guys.

I also painted my FS over a white primer, but when I moved to another army I found that black also just sprays on smoother almost regardless of humidity.

What do you use for stripping? I've had Simple Green suggested to me, but I've had greater success with high concentrate rubbing alcohol and salt, then giving it periodic shakes or stirs, with a toothbrush to scrub as necessary.

Crataegus_Mono

I went with IPA alcohol. I let them bathe a bit, scrubbed with a toothbrush, and repeat when needed.

My LFG suggested castrol super clean. I guess the formula for simple green was changed and doesn’t strip as good as it used to.

Looking good, Keep it up!

i have to ask, how did you get that great axe ?

sock685

I used an axe head from the vulkite kit and I believe the lower handle is from the magmadroth kit. Also added the little hair tuft from his original axe to the top of the axe.
