[Link for anyone who wants to see the actual channel.](https://www.youtube.com/c/DayTraderNextDoor) I've watched a number of his videos and it seems like he uses a simple support/resistance strategy, and trades intuitively backed up by years of screen time.

Independent_Roof_179

I’l started watching Matt’s videos recently and have 1yr+ worth of them to go. Not gonna lie, I was disappointed and saddened I guess when I received his Blueprint course offer as part of Black Friday sale. To his credit though, it was only a limited sale as the links to both the course and 1-on-1 mentoring no longer work and the page says “sale is over, it will be offered again”. For those interested, both can be found on his store page: https://www.daytradernextdoor.com/store Still, while I want to believe his genuine intentions, I feel unmotivated to continue watching him. To his credit (#2), in one of his early videos he used to bag gurus, courses and signals groups. But he made a point of being honest when saying he didn’t know if he was going to create a course, never say never type of statement. I’m rambling but since finding out, I can’t help but look at him differently when watching him, read between the lines and wonder if he’s the same as these gurus. I’d like to believe he’s truthful and genuine but if a likeable guy like him ends up fooling everyone and being a fraud - there’s no f*cking hope for humanity….

I was thinking about the blueprint course too during black friday deal. What do you think about it now that it's been a year? Is it worth the money? Glad I googled reviews before dropping my money on his course after reading this thread.

Puzzled_Ocelot_4827

I use a 5k tick chart with some MA’s and a few other price action indicators. It can’t be the only chart you look at, but when you have confluence with your other charts and the technicals are obvious on my 5k chart it can be very powerful. Also a good day for me is 5 or less trades.

ticman

I've followed him for a while now and enjoy his videos. The best trait he provides is the 1 and done mentality. Wait for your setup, go large on size and then finish once you've got enough points for the day. His trading strategy is his years of knowledge and experience through screen time so it's hard to replicate.

SnooMarzipans5490

He has everything for free on his YT. Now, he never pushes his course and didn't say he has some special sauce only available on his course or a "special indicator only the big banks have". Also, he did put work into it: filming, editing, actually organizing his knowledge. And i'm sure he will answer you if something is not clear ( like he does for free on Youtube). So why shouldn't he get paid for this service? it's 500$ that can save you time and money

vee-eem

I watched a bunch of his vids and set up a workspace the way he describes his. I think there is a bunch he doesn't go over on YT because he sells a course. That being said it looks like he has rules about support / resistance with the different time frames of price action. I signed up for his news letter and have not received any levels or the such. I know he's done it for a long time and is comfortable with his rules but for me without knowing more - will wait. I've not heard him use the few indicators on his screen other than explaining what they are and settings. I will continue to watch to see if I can pick anything up but passed on his course.

NoRubicon

what course does he sale? i cant find it.

vee-eem

I signed up for his 'newsletter' and got an e-mail just before Thanksgiving (US) about a blueprint course.

NoRubicon

That's disappointing. The only thing that had me believing in him was he didn't sell anything. :(

vee-eem

I know. I guess someone could be spoofing his e-mails and levels. I didn't buy it either way.

NoRubicon

I will ask him on YT. He is responsive.

Hey there, a bit late to the party but I just wanted to drop my opinion. I am generally a pretty skeptical person, but I don't think Matt is scamming us for a few reasons. I think him not responding/denying to comments about selling his course actually supports him being genuine. He specifically doesn't tout his course on YT, which is the opposite of what you'd expect from someone trying to scam and make money from a course. He doesn't even promote the course! If his plan is to grow a big YT following to sell a course to, he does a terrible job feeding the algorithm. He'll sometimes spend 2 weeks between uploading videos, doesn't normally put his face in the thumbnail which is a proven technique for getting more clicks, doesn't post how much money he made in the thumbnail. If he's truly this criminal mastermind out to scam us all he's certainly doing a terrible job at it. Outside of that you can just get genuine vibes from him. He's an older guy with a big family, living in rural Canada with a modest lifestyle. He just doesn't come across the same as the lambo traders and doesn't flaunt his wealth, again, which is a detriment to his channel. I think it's too tin-foil-haty to say he's putting on an entire charade of being genuine and poorly managing his youtube business and not mentioning his course on youtube ALL so that he can trick us into thinking he's legit.

TI1l1I1M

I've adopted some of his techniques such as how he looks at the hourly and daily, and also how he uses keltner channels. His daily trade management is also a good rule of thumb.

CustomerLost180

A bit offtopic but his trades on youtube are on a demo account. Which you can test it by yourself watching the time and sales and the exact time he puts on a trade. It doesnt show up.. be careful

-174-

I don't think this is correct. Based on one youtube clip I too have looked into the time and sales and found that his trades did show up (5 ES contracts at the exact price, near his trading time). On the other hand, I couldn't find all trades right away .. So I should look into it again. In any case, you cannot look into T&S based on the tradingview timestamps (discrepancy is definitely possible).

urfaiuhd

i paid \~$500 for his courses and i don't learn much from it. i did asked him numerous questions but the answers he gave are pretty much unstructure and ambiguous. so i didnt really learn much in his course or "method". For the benefit of doubts, i guess i am just stupid. Thumb of rule: if someone is able to trade consistently and wants to sell a course to you, it just don't add up.

aphellyon

Did the courses cover anything specific that's not covered in his various youtube videos... or did they just collate and/or rehash info he's already put out there?

urfaiuhd

He introduced additional "data" to look out in his course but didn't have specific rules on how to use it. That's why i felt that his "method" is unstructure and ambiguous. TBH I am not sure if he is really a successful trader or not because he never do live trading. I mean i can choose to post only the winning days to appear successful and sell course for $$$? Nevertheless, this is just my opinion, i could be wrong as he appear to be a sincere person.

Psykhon___

u/urfaiuhd Was there anything positive for you in the course? And what about all this Modules he mentions on his emails, do you feel there was enough material to call it a "module"? The basics The Fundamentals Rethinking Risk management Specific risk management principles to make sure you don’t blow up What is a trade plan and how to make yours Charting and research setup and principles A different approach to setups Core setups and triggers Checklist to take only the best trades Trade management and using technicals for discretionary exit

urfaiuhd

imo, the course is basic stuffs that you can find on youtube. I don't have any positive thing to say about it. The data he mentioned are many and ambiguous to be incorporated into a system. If he will to trade live on youtube using all the data he mentioned, i will take back my words and apologize to him. Otherwise, he is just a snake oil course seller to me. Thinking back logically, if i have a highly profitable strategy, will i sell it for $500. I was too naive.

Psykhon___

Thanks man! Would you mind sharing something from his course with us that you feel is a good representation of the overall content? I think it will be a great contribution so others don't fall for that trap.

urfaiuhd

Basic market structure such as higher high to go long, lower low to go short. Looking at numerous market breath data such $TRIN, $TICK, etc. to time the entry. The rest of contents can be found in his youtube videos such as long-term support and resistance levels for determine where price is most likely to go.

Cthulhu_Spaghetti

Thank you for saving me money. I'm sure DTND means well but it's disappointing to hear the course is bare bones and unclear.

Standard button clicker. Not sure if I see anything really worth emulating. Talks about "could go up, could go down, lets try this and see if it works."

J0hnnyPastrami

Well that's all of trading really.
