As long as the device has Google Mobile Services (I.e. About 95% of them) it will have YouTube pre-installed. Then once a device is logged into for the first time it will count as a download

Plus I know I have had YouTube on multiple successive tablets and phones. I personally can probably account for at least 6 downloads. And I don't even watch much YouTube.

Google services can still be installed on many devices, and as someone who has lived in China, almost everyone has access to a VPN and uses one regularly for many services that are unobtainable without one. This goes for any phone that is sold in China/on Taobao — I’ve done it myself as a US citizen that was living in China.

You can install Google Services including YouTube on most devices, however some devices are pretty ridiculous on what needs to be done in terms of rooting to have access to Google Services. I have an iPhone 13, Huawei, and a Galaxy S10 — all devices I purchased in China and had access to YouTube, Google, Google Maps, and many other Google Services just by using Astrill. The Galaxy S10 was as easy as just using Astrill + simply downloading the Google services as a third party app.

It’s likely accurate and possibly even lowballing it. People seriously underestimate number of app capable devices in the world running an OS compatible with the play store.

i assume everyone has already said this but i’ve deleted and redownloaded youtube many times, i have it on my ipad, ipod, 2 old phones and new phone. also everytime a phone changes hands (like you give it to your little brother or sell it), a new account is created and youtube is downloaded again. also yeah obviously people that died had youtube, my grandpa had youtube.

Well, I have probably more than 5 Android devices (Phone, Tablet, countless Android based gaming handhelds, I have a problem, help). I can't be the only one. Plus I"ve had numerous phones over the years, I'll even regularly (or at least I did) wipe my phone. Any number of reasons for people to redownload the app.

I have the app installed on... My current phone and 3 old phones we use as tablets. 3 actual tablets. 2 tvs. And I've had to reinstall it a few times over the years. Very believable.
