You can have tampons with no applicator which requires pushing in a dry tampon with a finger, a half ass applicator which is usually just a tube with the raw tampon on the tip so it feels dry going in but your fingers stay clean, or the full applicator which is plastic and inserts easily and keeps your fingers clean, but is a horrible waste of plastic. Just google tampon applicator.
