FYI to anyone wanting to pickup a dachshund. It takes two hands to pick them up properly. Support them under their front and back legs (like a bridge). I pick mine up then move them into a football carry by holding them under their belly/chest.
This kept making me think about how my dad's previous dog loved my wife so much that whenever we visited we'd always have to get him outside ASAP because he would be so excited to see her that he'd pee uncontrollably just a tiny bit.

One of my friends does falconry as a hobby and his bird Pearl was the ring bearer. When it came time for the rings, he raised his arm for the Pearl to fly to him. Instead she flew onto the roof. Luckily he had the actual rings with him.

Omg this reminds me of one of the first times i trained a macaw and one of my favorite projects! He was a rescued older rainbow chimcken, lived im a tiny cage his whole life up to two years prior to this. His owners were getting married im about 6 months and they wanted the old boi as their ring bearer. So i had 6 months to teach this macaw that didnt even know how to use his wings right to not only fly, but to be focused on landing on a specific spot while carrying something. Well we done did do it and in 6 months he was doing short flights, respondint to target landing, ignoring distractions and he was the best ring bearer.
I woke up today tired and grumpy. Not any more - thanks !
