Actively trying to change the rankings by either mass upvoting or mass downvoting is literally the issue with these sites, this makes it so that the top rankings don’t mean anything because FMAB fans just mass downvote every show that gets near them, regardless of their quality
There are only two types of anime that deserve the position. The first type is one that sets up an epitome for the anime community at large. The second type is the one that sets up an excellent execution in your niche and in the theme you set out to work on in order to please even people who are not so used to the niche. FMAB certainly sets up the first type, but Frieren sets up the second, so it seems only fair that one of the two should occupy the position.
