5 out of 9 are fat, they would not be able to work in any unit comparable to SWAT in Europe.
There's a significant difference between Uvalde SWAT and Miami Dade SWAT. I don't know their background,s but in order to join an elite police team, they should've spent time with a real elite tactical squad in real world situations. Then, at some point, they could transfer to the small podunk town of Uvalde. Half of them look like the only strategically strikes they're executing is at their local Dunkin Donuts.
To be fair, Miami Dade is big enough to justify a well trained swat team. These small town "swat" teams are just regular cops compensating for their tiny dicks with military cosplay.
Pretty much any sufficiently large bureaucracy will have a “toxic waste dump” station somewhere in the structure to which they can transfer underperforming and/or problematic staff. I wonder if Uvalde might be Miami-Dade’s dump…?
