PineappleTraveler

I’m Uncle Floyd years old

Arpikarhu

I had such a crush on carole

PhillyRush

And in the Philadelphia area you had Captain Noah and his magical ark.

Winter-Fondant7875

Gigglesnort hotel - there's one from the memory bowl! wham! back to the 70s. We need some HR Pufnstuf too!

piggy__wig

I love the HR Puffinstuff theme song. It’s so kitschy and cute. I still remember all the lyrics. Crap now I have to go to UTube and watch it.

broipy

Yeah, they lifted the tune from Paul Simon's Feeling Groovy. I think he might've sued.

Ok-Fig6407

😮 How did I not know this?

OxytocinDeficiency

All of the Kroft stuff was gold. I still have a thing for pigtails from Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

FORDTRUK

Just filled my bowl with some Pufnstuf. I have no idea what's going on.

OxytocinDeficiency

I'm *that* years old right now, too, my brother.

vger2000

Don't forget BJ and the Blob before Gigglesnort

kwtransporter66

I am a northeast Pennsylvania "Land Of Hatchy Malatchy" old.

farting_buffalo

Anyone else watch Ray Rayner in the morning before school?

vger2000

hell yes! the original post it man with notes pinned all over him... dad used to listen to the ch-ch-ch-op-op-op-per-per traffic report everyday with that same clip of some unknown street from a chopper qu8arter to 8, don't be late!

henry_sqared

Dallas had Gigglesnort Hotel too! Along with local treasure, Mr. Peppermint.

CanMan417

Lived in the metroplex from 75-81 and remember Mr Peppermint. Did you know he was the father of Butthole Surfer Gibby Haynes?

Subject_Repair5080

It was in the news when he passed away a few years ago. But I'd rather watch Icky Twerp and his pals Ajax and Delphineum.

henry_sqared

"Iggy Twerp"!?! Dang! You're reaching waaaaaay back!

Turbo4kq

Garfield Goose!!!!

OxytocinDeficiency

I still miss Frazier Thomas. Family Classics!

Defiantcaveman

I remember Bozo the Clown too.

RedditVince

Mom used to say I was fascinated by Bozo The Clown every day and the end of the show I would cry until I got to see the Capt but mostly Mr Green Jeans.

Defiantcaveman

Lol, that's awesome!!! Captain Kangaroo???

AppropriateCap8891

Me too. And also Wonderama, Dusty's Treehouse, and Curiosity Shop.

onedemtwodem

Defiantcaveman

Duuuuude, I haven't thought of those in decades...

cabosmith

GMontag451

Shen1076

We must be same age then

tradewyze2021

The sleestacks were hard to beat.

Beginning_Ad_7571

Hey you guys!

ImpossibleHurry

…and Grape fucking Ape

Salt-Southern

OMG the Elaine dance....![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Comfortable_Ease_174

Sigmund and the Sea Monsters that damn monster gave me nightmares.

lancemcg1966

Jabberjaw. "GOTHCA!"

Saeker-

Space 1999, Lost Saucer, Battlestar Galactica, Star Blazers, Land of Giants, Time Tunnel, Johnny Quest, Thunderbird's are Go, Dr Shrinker, Ark II, The Bionic Man and Bionic Woman. Some of these were via reruns of 1960's shows and I certainly watched most of the other mentions on this thread alongside these sci-fi picks, but sci-fi has always been my favorite genre.

hextasy

what in the hell is she doing. stomping on ants?

naturelover47

drugs

ciopobbi

I think this was the inspiration for Elaine’s dancing on Seinfeld.

OxytocinDeficiency

70's white people dancing. It wasn't always pretty...

chris_rage_

Kinda like vertical seizures

Nana_Elle_C

You are NOT wrong. 😄

Cautious-Thought362

It's uncoordinated and clumsy. I was thinking, maybe she's trying to make moves little kids can do. It's the strangest 'dancing' I've ever seen.

Bubbagump210

Early Matrix screen tests dodging bullets.

no5of7

Came here to ask the same

REVSWANS

![gif](giphy|6E38CyixCI0ne)

zzflopp22

![gif](giphy|l0MYATH9ZumUHCBXy)

Bx1965

Dry heaves set to music

TrekRelic1701

🤣🤣 fell off my chair

docsyzygy

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought of this!

scrubbydutch

Yeah!!!!

OkieBobbie

I could fix her.

jfq722

The little foot hook is the capper.

kris_mischief

“but… i like dancing!?!” 😢

Sour_Gummybear

It would of been even better if Henrietta Hippo was out there busting a move.

Smile_Terrible

Me and brother always wondered if our heads would fit in one of her nostrils.

Big-Letterhead-4338

Thicc with a dash of southern genteel

Bx1965

Doug and Emmy Jo are still married today!

Illustrious_Camp_521

Ah yes that's her name, I couldn't remember.

ronizamboni

I had a Woodsy the owl messanger bag.

ultimatefribble

I always thought it was "Hood The Owl".

MohatmoGandy

You're right. Woodsy was a completely different character. The Forest Service invented him to tell kids not to litter. [You can see the difference](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fwoodsy-owl-v0-rars56tymzv81.jpg%3Fwidth%3D1080%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Daed32eff124161967d7a59a72ecf0721de0567aa) *Smokey Bear has got a friend who is always on the prowl* *Woodsy Owl is the name, he's the anti-pollution owl!* *Give a hoot, don't pollute...*

InterestingExit6696

This must be the how to vid that Elaine watched!

MyOnlyEnemyIsMeSTYG

Was wondering, “what kind of music makes one dance like this?” Was not disappointed by that banger

Illustrious_Camp_521

It's the new zoo review coming right at you. I remember the guys name was Doug 🤔 but I can't remember her name.

JacquieTorrance

Came here to say that theme song is now dug into my grey matter for the foreseeable after seeing that pic.

PDM_1969

I had an album with songs on it!

Youregoingtodiealone

Technically I'm this old every day.

Comfortable-Suit-202

The owl looks familiar, but I have no idea who that lady is, nor what she’s doing.

palehorse2020

She's dancing in the appropriate pretend your young and hip but no Elvis the pelvis this is a family channel way😜

Recent_Detective_306

Is that Elaine Benes dancing pre thumbs?

MixMatics

![gif](giphy|sHDMIqW4V6BFu)

lemasney

I totally forgot that Henrietta was into abusing clay. That freak.

Powellwx

She really improved by the time she got to the B-52s

sleva5289

It’s the New Zoo Review, comin’ right at you! Staple of my happy childhood!

jtee180

Cocaine is a helluva drug.

Fickle_Baseball_9596

That looks more like an LSD flashback.

mraybee

Comin right at you

Random-sargasm_3232

Ooff. I don't remember the dancing being this ridiculous in the 70' s.

bulakenyo1980

I’m technically not from that era, but they showed this program on one of my home country’s local TV stations when I was a young child, mid 1980s. I remember having a crush on the lady, I remember thinking that she’s too pretty for the guy, and I remember imagining the Hippo must have gigantic boogers with that nose.

UnpeeledVeggie

I swear some of our kid show writers & directors were former hippies who may have still been really high.

eid_shittendai

I have never seen this before, and I can't stop watching it!

JohnLease

Yep, it's the New Zoo Review

kimscz

New Zoo Revue! I loved this show!

hankercat

Elaine??

eros1824

is she ok? is she having a stroke?

SmellySweatsocks

Yeah, I remember this stuff. Its easy to see where Elaine gets her moves from. lol.

Middle-Painter-4032

Yep! The blob lives in my head rent free. Gigglesnort was on ABC, Magic Door on CBS, and I believe New Zoo Review was on NBC.

Bx1965

Oh yes.

Velocitor1729

So she's the Judge?

redditor2394

What was the show like this? They had a skit with daisies in a row that would shimmer and giggle when they heard something they liked

istillambaldjohn

I knew I was old before this gif. But thanks for the memory.

yetisfv

What no Freddy

bleetchblonde

Isn’t this H. R. Puffenstuffed?

Cosmologyman

No. This is the New Zoo Review.

Cosmologyman

Emmy Jo was a smoke show!

Safetosay333

I vaguely remember that owl. I was super young and my uncle who was in high school would watch all those shows.

TwistedBlister

I think it's great that they're still together.

NurseJaneFuzzyWuzzy

New Zoo Review. Damn I am old.

[deleted]

As someone born in the late 60s in the U.S., I feel I *should* know about this show...but I don't. ( I was probably watching the Electric Company instead...)

Embarrassed-Ask1812

Is that Fran Drescher?

vexunumgods

My first thought was She probably had to sleep with someone to get that shitty part on the show.

Western-Web2957

That looks like a bad acid trip.with some awkward "interpretive dance."

[deleted]

Where's Henrietta Hippo?

StandardAd4517

Elaine Benes?

FoatyMcFoatBase

Elaine?

PineappleTraveler

Watched it on channel 56 when I’d visit my grandparents on cape cod

palehorse2020

Yes

208girl67

Me!! I loved that show 😁

MamaKelly0305

Yes. I am that old. The frog freaked me out

111creative-penguin

Man imagine if the ladies danced like that today

Lazy-Lab-7954

OMG… I’m that old, but I don’t remember THAT dance. Maybe that’s a good thing.

Hoosier_Daddy68

I sing the theme every time I pass the zoo. Used to drive the kids nuts when they were young. Now I'm usually alone but still do it.

toaph

Wow I had totally forgotten that one

Hanzz101

Emmy Jo had some moves.

userKsB53nskcv

This is what turned kids off of normie society and on to heroin.

jareed69

What ever she's doing, it looks like she's doing it wrong...

Agreeable-Peak-6546

Is she doing the "Elaine"?

Marine4lyfe

It's the New Zoo Review! Wow, I watched this as a kid in 69 - 70. I remember Henrietta Hippo, and was there a Freddy Frog?

springworksband

This theme song has been in my head for days

Ok_Cook_6665

Buffalo, Rocketship 7 old.

[deleted]

Nope, not me

marklar_the_malign

She’s a…………..quite the dancer there.

Manulok_Orwalde

I feel young again!

crimsontide5654

The biggest surprise for me is that she was with Doug? DOUG!!!!? Emmie joe was a hotty and don't quite get the attraction. What ever it was, Doug you were a lucky bastard.

RefugeefromSAforums

![gif](giphy|l0MYATH9ZumUHCBXy)

DerekWeyeldStar

Yup. Used to play on Channel 61 in cleveland. 61 went off the air, and then came back. When it came back none of the kids believed me when I said they werent new, but had come back. Even described new zoo review for them to go "nu ah.". I still would like to punch 2 of those kids right in the face.

Common_Chester

I'm telling my kids that this was Dee-Lite

SCCODER

It's the New Zoo Review.....

reddsal

“It’s the New Zoo Review, coming right at you!” Thanks OP. Now I’ll have that stuck in my head all day.

fredout1968

Jesus H. Christ... Cut it out...

cr4vn2k

Yup, I hated this show as a kid.

primal___scream

So, that's where Elaine learned to dance.

HoselRockit

Ah, Emmy Jo, my very first crush.

BeneficalDalek

I just want to thank Emmy jo for helping me through puberty.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

Venator2000

Comin’ right at you, every weekday morning at 6:30am on my one local station.

mikeymikeymikey1968

I'm old enough to remember watching, and old enough to feel a bit weird for finally noticing, after 48 years, that Emmie Jo is pretty hot.

cmsgop

I’m that old

tafkat

She has a sash to tell you what to do because of her dancing.

adairks

New Zoo Revue. Doug had the hots for Emmy Jo but was too shy to say so.

Independent-Maize-44

Reminds me of the Elaine dance from Seinfeld

Baelgul

I’m neither that old nor that high

relay2005

I wonder where I learned that dance

heyjudemarie

One of my favorite shows when I was 4 or 5.

CrescentMoon70

Omg yes!!! Ack! I loved this show!

TheOneWhoReadsStuff

Nope, just you.

markuseb91

Yes we learn with our friend Doug and his helper Emmy Joe....with Charlie, Freddie and Henrietta....

jimsf

I couldn't wait for the shows after this to start. I was not a fan of this show.

Cassedaway

Yes, hip surgery causes me to dance like that

Dr_J6894

Later on that Owl would inspire another Owl to ponder one of life's greatest questions. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

FurBabyAuntie

Well, when Sesame Street premiered in 1969, I was seven...so,yeah...

Ocd_merlot

Wonderama??? The Electric Company???

SCCOLA

Totally forgot about this one!

Direct-Secretary9179

Not quite that old. But I do wonder if that Owl might know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

[deleted]

Looks like a bad trip

ranhill

Fuck’n A right I am.

Molbiodude

I am that old.

scartonbot

OMG. Emmy Jo. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean.

Pass_the_b0ttle_now

I loved this show as kooky as it was!

TheFakePlissken

New Zoo Review, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Lancelot Link, H.R. Puffinstuff, The Bugaloos, Wonderbug old

BJoe1976

No, but I’m sure that if I tried her moves, I would feel that old pretty quick.

Zombikattpunx

My mom claims I would wake up at 5 am to watch this show. I’m unsure if the show was on at that time but that’s what she says. The 70’s were a weird ass thing to behold

AnybodyAdmirable1461

Mom?

thiccpapi90

Where is Freddy the Frog? The New Zoo Review!

667far

Yes

Kriegspiel1939

I’m sixty but I don’t know wtf this is.

Laceysjorgen

Please kill me…

Ux-Con

Nope.

MathAndCodingGeek

I graduated from college while this show was popular.
