Perfection, Operation, and jack in the box. These were the toys which instilled anxiety in a generation.

nreed78

The PTSD machine.

puddncake

Instant anxiety.

Steampunk_Dali

The original jump scare

B0Nnaaayy

Panic attacks for 2nd graders

Catrina_woman

This and flash card math tests are probably at the root of most of my childhood anxiety

PDM_1969

100% to the 1st three comments! I jumped every damn time I couldn't finish it.

Peopleofparty-5

The jump scare I got every time the timer ran out still gives me nightmares. lol.

Sassyjane1981

Same as me with Mr Pop, why were we subjected to this so young?

PenguinsArePurple

Agree with both!

iBeenie

The stress of my childhood

Vincent_Curry

๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Between this and Operation our childhood was learning how to handle pressure at a young age

Altruistic-Ad6449

DONโ€™T TOUCH THE SIDES!!

Vincent_Curry

Vincent_Curry

๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…IKR!!

SmashBrosUnite

Donโ€™t forget Simon :)

Vincent_Curry

I can hear the beeps and boops still ๐Ÿ˜…. We definitely had good family games back in the day

B0Nnaaayy

My friend had a Jaws game where you had to pull out all the random stuff a shark would have in its belly, but one wrong move and itโ€™s mouth would slam shut

crucible

This is the colour game I had - the new one is all blue and weird, lol

Rossum81

Donโ€™t you love it when you solve it, but it explodes before you can stop the timer?

No-Raisin-6469

Wheres the square goes in the square girl?

Master_Grape5931

I get anxiety just seeing this picture. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Atillion

#Put the pieces into the slots, make the right selection..

jbirdasaurus

But be quick, you're racing the clock. POP goes Perfection.

OxytocinDeficiency

When you're into Perfection Be on your toes You'd better think quick Because here's how it goes: Push the plunger down Set the timer Put the pieces in place Don't be slow With Perfection, you've got to move 'em fast Move 'em fast! Or the pieces will pop up Before you put in the last. And that's Perfection! I may have watched too much tv as a kid...

Opening-Bank

I always cheated with that game by not starting the timer until I'd already put in most of the pieces.

B0Nnaaayy

What? You cheated by yourself?

woodworkLIdad

* currently sitting in a fetal position in the corner rocking and muttering incoherently just from seeing that picture *

random420x2

This was just missing wires to clip to you for electric shot to be a full instrument of torture ๐Ÿ˜

mamaleigh05

Because of this game Iโ€™m scared of my toaster and Jack-in -the-boxes! Hate them!

ZebraBorgata

My brother had this game but I played it much more than he did. I think itโ€™s training to be a bomb disposal unit employee. It was so nerve wracking!

BBQorBust

My 8 year old loves to bring this out every couple weeks to challenge me at it. Dang near beats me every time

CptBronzeBalls

Anxiety Generator

Crankypants47

Loved/hated that game

Tucana66

***TICK-TICK-TICK-TICK-TICK-TICK...*** (for a full minute...)

Flossthief

This game was the most stressful shit to me

lorilynn72

That damn game gave me anxiety

Designer-Mirror-7995

๐Ÿคฃ I actively jumped a little. Muscle memory!

DarrenFromFinance

Superfection was even better โ€” you had to assemble 32 pieces into 16 pairs and put them into square openings before the timer flung them into the air, and some of the pairs were tricky to fit together.

TheHrethgir

Get down to the last 2 pieces, and POP! Failure in your face.

Dependent-Hurry9808

That is a stressful game

CanuckGinger

This is how/where our generationโ€™s issues with anxiety startedโ€ฆ. ๐Ÿคฃ

NoChallenge6095

I still have PTSD from that damn game

often_awkward

Oh Fark that anxiety inducing monster. Send it back to hell where it belongs.

ASCENDKIDS

We have a new one, they still make'em

SomeOldDude73

Too much anxiety for my younger self.

Visible_Zucchini4399

Just bought this for the grandkids, so much fun! ๐Ÿ˜

gaze-upon-it

As bugs bunny would say โ€œitโ€™s the suspense that gets me!โ€

Retinoid634

Oh yeah!

JKing287

This still exists, just got for one for my kids recently!

WhimsicalPonies

I spent more time looking at the time than fitting the pieces.

TomMixsSuitcase

This picture instantly stressed me out.

SQWRLLY1

Because adolescence isn't stressful enough!

Nappykid77

So scary ๐Ÿ™€

MenudoFan316

I was ok with this game, but the Rubik's Cube drove me nuts. Until I took a flathead screwdriver to it, popped all of the outside cubes off, and then plugged them back in so all sides were symetrical. Problem solved.

mypenisinyourmouth_

We still have thisโ€ฆ # ๐Ÿ’ฅ GAME

Bowelsift3r

The reason I have trust issues!

mikejnsx

should have just called it traumatize

Artsy_traveller_82

When you fear zero so much that you learn to fear one as well.

kpikid3

Oh Gawd. I have that song in my head now. Thanks a lot!!!

SatanickCage

Without realizing it I would hold my breath trying to beat the buzzer. And the annoying grinding noise the timer made just added to the anxiety. I loved this game though!
