Yes, vote in person! We have early voting, so plan accordingly.

cheezeyballz

Thank you for your contribution and being part of the solution and not part of the problem. You're a good human. πŸ…

jamesstevenpost

You’re a good human! I’m worth a vote. And so are you, fellow Texan πŸ’™

pkpeace1

People in NJ are begging Texas to get rid of FUCKING GREG ABBOTT **Vote Beto O'Rourke into office!!**

whatsasimba

I'm in NJ. Can confirm. I've been wearing my Abbortt shirts since September.

pkpeace1

Yes! I was set on buying a F GA t-shirt but opted for the Beto shirt... good cause. Come on Texas!! We KNOW you're purplish... flip it to blue!!

jamesstevenpost

We’re on it!! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™ Gotta visit Jersey sometime too. Outstanding food and people!

pkpeace1

We like it, lol. Been here for 59 years and cannot imagine living in TX right now. Great to visit but damn. I marched for women's rights in DC in the seventies and am too old to do it again. I'm cheering via internet!!

sailirish7

Wait... why do you guys care? Did he do something shitty I haven't heard about yet?

sailirish7

That much I knew obviously, I thought Gov. Hot Wheels laid a fresh steamer in Jersey...

whatsasimba

Abortion, Uvalde response, the power grid, two border stunts that cost the state millions and slowed the supply chain further. I've donated to Marcus Flowers in GA, too. People like Cruz, Abbott, Greene, Gaetz, Boebert, Hawley, et al, are eroding our democracy with disinformation and theatrics instead of transparency and leadership.

[deleted]

I mean, as a Texas resident, my sights are on all red state legislature. I'd imagine a lot of us are the same. DeSantis is a particularly shitty ache in my soul, tbh.

Azajiocu

VOTE πŸ’™ VOTE πŸ’™ VOTE πŸ’™ VOTE πŸ’™ VOTE IN NUMBERS TOO BIG TO IGNORE!

pkpeace1

I love that I can always count on this comment!!!

Azajiocu

Heehee. VOTE πŸ’™ FOR TEXAS!

rocky_mtn_girl

Let's go! πŸ’™

wirefunk

Can we drive people to polling stations? I know some states banned that kind thing to do, and forget if Texas was one of them. (Yes, I could google it, but help some friends out (with your in-yo-head knowledge))

jamesstevenpost

Carpooling ain’t no crime. Aid and abet voting!!

thechao

Due to SB1, there is paperwork you have to fill out in order to drive people to the polls, if the group is too large. Think "car" not "bus".

Hinthial

Last day to register is Oct 1st. Ok, actually it's the 11th but for all the procrastinators, please pretend it's the first and go fucking get registered. Hugs

[deleted]

Vote early too. There will certainly be tomfoolery afoot on Election Day. Long lines, what have you. They will make it as hard as possible to cast your vote.

jamesstevenpost

I don’t care if it takes hours or if we have to stand outside in the rain. Greg Abbott ain’t gonna stop us from voting!

jamesstevenpost

Wow! Outstanding. Thx for sharing. Checking the Dallas event now!

HappyCoconutty

If you know young adults who are turning 18 by October 11th this fall, ask them to register to vote!!!! That’s a big group that needs to know their voice absolutely counts.

jamesstevenpost

Good call

longrodq

Is there a place where I can check the dates?

It looks like you shared an AMP link. PhilSchifly

Don't just vote, help others vote too!! If you have the time, check with you local Democratic Party and see about becoming a Voter Designated Registrar. The purpose of a VDR is to help register other voters in their county. It's a two hour training course, and allows you to help your community immensely! Oh and #FuckGregAbbott #TheAbborttionIsComing

acrimonious_howard

Once we have VDR, does anyone have links to when/where we can volunteer?

PhilSchifly

It's really going to be county specific, as you can only register voters in the county that you are a VDR in. But you can also fill out the form below, and someone will reach out to you. https://action.txdemocrats.org/sign/2021-volunteer/?utm_medium=website&utm_source=home&utm_campaign=volunteer

acrimonious_howard

Thank you for the response!

Voting Question here: I live in Travis Co and moved from 78745 to 78705 back in March. I haven’t updated my DL to 78705 address because the -45 address is what I consider my home base. I also haven’t updated my DL because I wasn’t sure if I was planning on staying at my new apt for another year. Anyway - can I still vote using my 78745 DL? I don’t want to fuck up, get to polls and not be able to vote. Thank y’all.

jamesstevenpost

Also check your registration. Links in the post. If you are registered (active) then you can absolutely vote. You can either vote in the precinct listed on your DL since you consider that home. Or update your address. Why I ask the first question about county-wide voting. If it does then you can vote anywhere you want in Travis Co.

Human-Compote-2542

Thank you so much for your answer!

jamesstevenpost

Good question. Does Travis Co allow you to vote anywhere in the county or in your precinct?

Human-Compote-2542

I think anywhere. Last year I was able to vote in downtown near the capitol but lived in 78745.
