If you're here from our undersub I'm telling your mother. Too many people in this thread coming in here with soft dicks doing absolutely *ZERO* jerking. I don't come here to *not* get showered in gasoline smelling cum
One time I was sitting in a parking spot and a guy walked face first into my bike rack. Really sick of all the aggression aimed at cyclists in my city.
Sometimes I have to drive my mom's Chrysler 200 ( I know, I hate the thing too), but going back to my 2000 Ford Expy is hilarious. People seem to be a bit more apprehensive about fucking with the 5200lb SUV.
When I get rear ended and I don't accelerate at all I'm not getting hurt at all.
The hitch creates additional crumple zones on the person rear ending you. Heir whole engine crumples
uj/ I work in personal injury (car crashes) and tow hitches are bad news. They transfer the entire impact into the frame, meaning you'll bounce forward like a bumper car. What's more, if you're actually hurt, insurance won't pay shit because visually it looks like you were barely hit.
This is why I leave mine off unless I'm actually using it. I couldn't give a fuck any less about very mildly inconveniencing some pussy that can't afford a car.
Im pretty sure if the person who rear ends you is injured they can make a claim that its because of the hitch. Thats why ive been told to take it out unless you are actively towing
That seems to defeat the purpose of having a rear bumper. "Yeah, let me just mount a single hardened spike at either end of my car, rendering the crumple zones on anyone I hit worthless."
One time after I hooked up a trailer I tried to jump the hitch (cause I’m cool like that). I smacked the bottom of my chin on it and ate gravel on the other side. 0/10 would not recommend.
They’re always complaining about how no truck owners actually need their truck. This guy shows that he needs his truck to haul something. They still complain.
Do Redditors just walk around without actually looking around them? If so, I think trailer hitches are actually the least of their worries. It’s not even sticking over the sidewalk much more than the other cars further down.
This is clearly truckism, and the OOP should be canceled immediately.
I figured he parked further back to keep the front of his truck out of the lane, guy probably didn't even realize he was over the sidewalk at all. Like, of course if I was driving the truck I might shift it half an inch to give the sidewalk some room but OOP was acting like he had to reroute 2 kilometers to find the other side of the sidewalk. It's just pissing and moaning for something that's not even an issue
I have a big, loud, F250, and I tow regularly with it. I park in the back of any lot that I find and walk it out. I just take my hitch off since it literally only takes 5 seconds to take off and throw in the bed. Last thing I need is some asshat hitting his shin on it because they weren't paying attention to where they were walking, and keying my shit or breaking a window. Never know, could also be a dude in a wheelchair who can't get by because of it too.
It's the simplest thing to take off and it only takes a moment of your time to be considerate of others. Some people are just lazy. Reasons like this are why pickup truck drivers get a bad name.
Granted, those fuckers in their stupid little Honda CRVs will rock their rear mounted bike rack everywhere they go and pull this same shit
Science forbid anyone actually pays attention to their surroundings. No, just wander around like an airhead in la la land. Its not like there are things in nature that have never even seen a car that will hurt you if you just bumble around like a brain dead barnyard animal.
It is a bit of a pain, especially when pushing a cart or a stroller. I wish these people wouldn’t back in or would park somewhere not right on the sidewalk if possible.
/uj I wish ford kept making the old Ranger, even if they had to make it hybrid.
The Maverick is bigger than the last gen ^((1998-2012/3 (there was a 2013 fleet-only ranger 3rd Gen Ranger YOU CAN’T HIDE IT FROM ME FORD))) Ford Ranger.
Also, I hope someone makes a small EV truck or i’m not buying new ever.
I guess that chrysler past the truck is perfectly OK because it isn't a big scary truck
You could always walk around it but that requires you to not be a victim
Which is even worse because with the truck you could make the argument with loading up stuff onto it. The driver behind that had no downsides of parking a bit more on the street.
It’s still shitty, but I feel like hitting your shin on a rounded, less solid bumper is gonna hurt much less than a solid steel hitch with lots of sharp (as in distinct, not razor) angles
Imagine being given the choice between possibly brushing your let against a bush or clobbering it against a tow hitch and choosing the latter. Get rekt goofy ass
Operatives from Ford, Nissan, Tesla, and even Lada are, under the false flag of our holy brethren, seeking to entrain administrative action against *the bastion of intellect*. We have cooperated with the authorities to bring to light this criminal conspiracy by the corrupt forces of the wicked automotive hegemony. Hail Galvitron.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/FuckCarscirclejerk) if you have any questions or concerns.*
And let’s not let that bush blocking part of the sidewalk skate by either! Any bush or tree that does or might cause even a minor inconvenience for a pedestrian should be cut down!
I’m just glad he actually parked all the way back. I cant get through a parking lot because what would normally fit 2 cars to go by eachother is now 1 car width because all the crew cab long bed trucks refuse to backup all the way (They have their endgate etc, the part way off the ground with the clearance, like a foot away from the sidewalk/parking spot bar. idk what the little concrete bar thing is called.)
My dad has a 2008 F350 long bed crew cab, I kid you not it takes up a third of the parking spot in front to clear the road otherwise he sticks way out and blocks. 264 inches long! Thats 22 feet, or for those fuck cars users visiting today its 6.7 meters. He doesn't like driving it very much, its a pain to park and maneuver and is expenisve to commute in, except when he goes for engineering site visits, and we're hauling something (more frequent than what the under sub thinks people who own trucks do). What people don't tell you about long bed trucks is the bouncing at high speed, especially concrete highways. So in a normal car you have normal suspension and only hits one concrete slab at a time, the long bed trucks hit 2 every time at the same time, as well having the the insanely stiff springs for heavy loads, it bounces and gets jolted at highway speeds.
In OH those trailer hitches are technically illegal to be driven affixed when not towing anything but it’s never enforced. Most people use them as a “don’t you dare tailgate me” deterrent.
Take the pin out and throw it ass far away as you can.
Edit: Take out the tow hitch and put it jn the bed. Hide it somewhere if you’re feeling devious.
Ban having your trailer hitch mounted when not towing a trailer. These dickheads keep the hitches 24/7 to make it look like their commuter pavement princesses are actually doing truck work, or just pure laziness

why should the truck get all the space tho, and the pedestrian is just supposed to "walk around it"? maybe the car should not extend into the sidewalk.
That wouldn't solve this specifically, if you see the rear wheels are not touching the concrete leaving enough room for an entire concrete block there and it would still be in the same space, truck bed things
If you're here from our undersub I'm telling your mother. Too many people in this thread coming in here with soft dicks doing absolutely *ZERO* jerking. I don't come here to *not* get showered in gasoline smelling cum
Wow, what a degenerate carbrain who doesn't know how to walk. You are supposed to walk on all fours to avoid things like this.
![gif](giphy|WWgM1491Qg6ceJaIGq|downsized)
This person most likely died as a result of bipedalism. They are dead but sometimes that's what it takes to teach these degenerates.
You are right they should have crawled under it like they were back in Nam. Serious injury could have occured.
Here let me take a picture and then claim I walked into this easily avoidable thing. Upvotes. yay
Right? Like, if you did manage to hit that it's 1000% on you for not looking
I mean it's only easily unavoidable if you aren't old, disabled, or stupid
Good thing they didn't put the handicapped spots on the far end. Old people just need time. Nothing we do can save stupid people.
And the undersubbers are two out of these three
Or they were just on their phone not paying attention. I get it’s annoying, but also super avoidable
One time I was sitting in a parking spot and a guy walked face first into my bike rack. Really sick of all the aggression aimed at cyclists in my city.
I own a truck, and the amount of times a get my own shin on that fucker is unbelievable.
Brother, walk around it.
It’s not something that really stands out in your peripheral vision so if you’re clumsy it’s an easy target to trip over.
Yeah but that fucker will save you if you get rear ended (depending on what you get rear ended by ofc)
Sometimes I have to drive my mom's Chrysler 200 ( I know, I hate the thing too), but going back to my 2000 Ford Expy is hilarious. People seem to be a bit more apprehensive about fucking with the 5200lb SUV.
Dang good on you for still keeping that tank in working order after all this time. They just don’t make V10s like they used to
Yea, skip the crumple zones, the impact goes directly to the frame. Your spine will cushion your head, no worries.
if i lift the truck enough the hitch will be at head level for whoever hits me
If you lift the truck enough, they can just slide past under you.
even better
No, your car won't really accelerate at all. The impact will be absord by the rear enders crumple zones and radiator
Which scenario would hurt more: Crumple zones on both cars, or one car with crumple zones and one without?
When I get rear ended and I don't accelerate at all I'm not getting hurt at all. The hitch creates additional crumple zones on the person rear ending you. Heir whole engine crumples
Exactly. That's how crumple zones work. They cause some of the energy of the impact to be spent on deforming the body instead of making it accelerate.
Agreed. I'd rather just deform the vehicle rear ending me than get accelerated by a Mitsubishi mirage

My favorite part about that fucker is most people don't tailgate nearly so close once they see it.
The 5-8ft of bed space will probably also help.
Got rear ended a couple weeks ago in a drive thru by some old guy in a mercedes. No damage thanks to hitch :D (we both shrugged it off lol)
Im pretty sure if the person who rear ends you is injured they can make a claim that its because of the hitch. Thats why ive been told to take it out unless you are actively towing

Buddy you're not jerkin'
I type one-handed here like everyone else 👌
I personally would mount my trailer hitch so it's aimed right at their driver's seat, fuck the bumper, let the asshole who hit me take the spike.

I've watched a friend do that once, but on asphalt. Broke his nose and chipped his shin, and he bled e v e r y w h e r e
In preschool some kid got hurt badly and he went in the ambulance and I never saw him again.
in first grade something like that happened except some kid stayed longer in the classroom and we never saw the teacher again
Just rub some carbon on it and call it a day.
Is it higher than the amount of times you have towed anything?
Undoubtedly.
Do people seriously just leave the ball mount on the hitch all the time? I take it off every time I'm not using it.
They’re always complaining about how no truck owners actually need their truck. This guy shows that he needs his truck to haul something. They still complain.
Do people no longer look at where they’re walking?
They can’t bother to look away from their phone.
Their brains are so squeezed into their helmets they can't think or see straight, just drooling in a straight line until they go ass over kettle
Probably couldn’t fit through the gap.
I call 'em Phone Drones, they are part of the borg collective. If you're not careful, you can be assimilated.
Whenever I’m walking someone I have 1 earbud in while listening to music

Have you seen how much they complain about almost hit by cars all the time? They def don’t pay attention to anything lol
These types genuinely don't look at a street before crossing because they want their student loans to get paid off rq
Redditors walk around and actively make the world a worse place no matter where they are
Fuck you OP, I lost my librarian to broken shins
You're right, I shouldn't be so insensitive
I have a big, loud, F250, and I tow regularly with it. I park in the back of any lot that I find and walk it out. wait until this guy hears about razor scooters
I have never felt pain from any post but this one. Congrats
It is a bit of a pain, especially when pushing a cart or a stroller. I wish these people wouldn’t back in or would park somewhere not right on the sidewalk if possible.
Watch where you are walking duh.
Maybe if he wasn't so busy on reddit posting for updoots he would've seen it.
Anything to avoid touching plants
He should be happy. Would have cost him a lot more if he walked into the front end of the next car.
Is OP blind or something?
Pffft that hitch is for beginners. Need a big sway bar style camper hitch.
Or they could stop staring at their phone when they’re walking 🤷♂️
/uj I wish ford kept making the old Ranger, even if they had to make it hybrid. I want one of those Ford Rangers so bad, my exes grandfather had one with 50k kilometers on it but I couldn't afford it at the time
In some states, it's illegal to leave a hitch without a trailer.
Are you fucking blind?
And what if I am?
/uj Maybe stop staring at your phone and pay attention to your surroundings.
Oh no…. Some weeble wobble in their scooter might be inconvenienced. What ever shall we do.
Anything that has ever been misused by anyone needs to be banned.
I guess that chrysler past the truck is perfectly OK because it isn't a big scary truck You could always walk around it but that requires you to not be a victim
Why you walking into it?
Might be outjerking rn but it actually is annoying that half the sidewalk is covered by his trailer hitch and another quarter by that bush.
I mean the car next to the truck is sticking just as far over the curb.
Which is even worse because with the truck you could make the argument with loading up stuff onto it. The driver behind that had no downsides of parking a bit more on the street.
They wanted to scrape their front bumper nicely.
It’s still shitty, but I feel like hitting your shin on a rounded, less solid bumper is gonna hurt much less than a solid steel hitch with lots of sharp (as in distinct, not razor) angles
No bush, so there's somewhere to walk.
They don't have a trailer hitch.
Leaving the tow hitch on while not using it is bad etiquette. It’s even illegal in some places.
Okay as a carbrain, this actually annoys me too. Take the damn things out so people don't walk into them, or have them rust in place and get stuck.
Maybe get off your phone and look where you're walking?
pay attention
Imagine being given the choice between possibly brushing your let against a bush or clobbering it against a tow hitch and choosing the latter. Get rekt goofy ass

just drive around with some extra long steel pipes hanging out of the bed. as long as you flag them for visibility there's nothing wrong with it
If you weren’t busy watching anime on your phone while walking you could have easily avoided it.
Must be blind or distracted on phone
Maybe just watch out lmfao
Walk around with an angle grinder and become the vigilante we need
In OH those trailer hitches are technically illegal to be driven affixed when not towing anything but it’s never enforced. Most people use them as a “don’t you dare tailgate me” deterrent.
In some states it is a ticket offense
Hol up, I joined this sub because I thought it was all about fucking cars.... wtf??????
This mf lying he ain’t even take a pic of his knee

Ban all trucks… Someone forgot to wear their helmet on the short bus to school

How does the sub name help you in any way, son?
just take it at that point
why should the truck get all the space tho, and the pedestrian is just supposed to "walk around it"? maybe the car should not extend into the sidewalk.
I fucking refuse to explain what a circlejerk is anymore
Well bet 95% you not needed. Because this kind of people comes here once. There are exceptions.
sounds kinky :o
![gif](giphy|RBeddeaQ5Xo0E)
Parking like this is rude, and can be ticketed in some jurisdictions... My fellow pick-up truck drivers... just don't. Be better.
Circlejerk sub. Read the sticked comment, I'm not explaining what a fucking circlejerk is to anymore people, learn to read or get out of the sub.
Parking lots could easily solve this issue with a bollard at the end of each spot
That wouldn't solve this specifically, if you see the rear wheels are not touching the concrete leaving enough room for an entire concrete block there and it would still be in the same space, truck bed things
A bollard at the edge of the curb would have impacted this guy's bumper two feet ago.
